Not sure if it was the time of the year but its hard to believe that this is rated the top course in the area. The course was not in good shape, although the setup is great. Challenging with plenty of water and difficult shots. Greens were ok but not in great condition. The course rangers were very friendly but others seemed like we were a bother to them. Not worth the amount that they are charging. There are many less expensive courses with a better experience. One hole with beach view that was OK, but there are definitely better.

This was my favorite course that I have ever played by far! I came down to South Carolina for vacation and played a couple of courses while I was there, but this one takes the cake. Fairways and greens were in phenomenal shape and the course is definitely challenging, but not overly difficult for average golfer. The scenery throughout all 18 holes is beautiful, especially the 10th hole view of the ocean. The customer service I received while I was there was top notch. Could not recommend this course any more.

One of the finest public golf courses on Hilton Head Island, featuring very well maintained fairways and greens and the EPIC #10 Water Hole -- the ONLY beach front hole on the Island! There are beautiful views and vistas on this course, but nothing beats standing on the rise behind the flag at 10 just passed the sand traps and taking a minute to soak up the panoramic ocean view.

Have played it twice in as many years. Will be back again in less than 30 days to do it again. Course has been in GREAT shape and the staff, starter and range are big pluses. Dont forget your camera so you can take some great shots the ocean scenery.

What a beautiful course! Im not even an average golfer, but bad play and lost golf balls are forgotten when you get a picturesque view of the ocean.
