Played with my adult son on 1/1/2015. This is the 4th time we have played here. Course is always crowded and we can deal with that issue. Paired with 2 beginners who were strangers to us and each other. Starter let 2 husband and wife pairs play ahead of us as twosomes. We waited over every shot and gave up looking for playing partners lost balls after the 3rd hole. On #6 a relatively short par 3 we were on the green in regulation and watched in horror as our playing partners hit multiple tee balls into the street to the left. Players Assistant was polite and apologetic but did not put the 2 twosomes together or do anything to remedy the situation. We finished 9 holes after 2 hours 48 minutes and made the election not to continue. This is the 3rd time that we have quit after 9 holes. We pay for 18 holes and wind up quitting after 9. We WONT be back until Chi Chi can guarantee a 4 hour or less round of golf. I suggest that you raise your prices, encourage players to use the appropriate tee boxes, foursomes only on busy days and do not allow players on the course in blue jeans and tee shirts.

My experience started off good with an easy to use website that I was able to use to book a tee time with for a reasonable price for a Saturday. We had a tee time for 10:22am, but once we checked in at 10:00am, i realized we werent likely to get out at our tee time. There was a huge line to get out because the morning was clearly overbooked. We ended up not getting out until 11:30. then, once we got going, it was a constant waiting game for every shot because there was always someone waiting to go in front of us. We didnt complete the round until after 4pm. The course itself was very nice and quite challenging, but the long waits made it difficult to enjoy. Based on my experience, Id be unlikely to return or recommend this course to a friend.

Do yourself a favor and play this course! It is always in the best shape! More importantly to me it is family friendly just as Chi Chi would expect (met him when I was a young golfer). I had to leave Cove Cay due to horrible customer service including bad language (see my review of Cove Cay) I arrived at Chi Chi at 8:20am on a Sunday with my 3yr old son and my handicapped father. The staff was happy to see us, even remembered my sons name. The starter was a true gentleman and was happy to see my son ready to learn a great game on one of the best courses in Pinellas County. Pleas help me thank them for what they did for me and my family, play the course, you will love it.

I was not in love with the layout. A few "signature" holes were made difficult in dumb ways (few super narrow holes). Greens were small and just generally the course seemed beat up. Most holes were very short. Staff was friendly. Check-in desk gal quite nice. There was a starter & marshal working the course. Tried their best to keep pace up but a 4 some one group ahead was a problem. We were a 4-some of 20+ handicaps and we frequently waited. 4:20 for the entire round without a stop at the turn. I would not return---too many other options. Somewhat sad, as Im guessing this place used to be more of a gem. Admittedly, the price was right---$30 with a cart.

I love this course. I am a member at Eastlake which is a great club and i still love to go play chi chis. It is a short course but its plenty tricky. The staff are awesome the conditions are better then most courses in the area. It is a great place to learn the game. The prices are great and its all a charity. I always feel at home there. It is very laid back and you are always made to feel comfortable.

Course was economical but poorly marked. There was no way to determine distance from the tees or fairways other than the standard hole signs and 100, 150, 200 yard fairway markers. Tees were not in line with hole signs and did not have any yardage markings on the tee boxes. Greens were very worn and rough. Pro shop attendant was not friendly and acted like he didnt want to be there.

Best course I have ever played at considering price and quality! They have very nice practice facilities and all employees were very friendly. 18 holes with a cart for $20 when I was there in January of 2014, I would recommend this course to anyone looking to have a nice relaxing round of golf. #floridalife

Challenging course, very well maintained, fast greens. Be in the fairways or bring extra balls. Have played my best and worst games there. We all know how that goes. Best prices in the area. Many times there are coupons in local papers for great deals.

Great course! One of my favorites in the Tampa Bay area. Usually in great shape, good rates and a challenging short course! On busy days, there are some places that tend to back up easily. Plus I love to see a course that supports children golfers!

I have played here several times over the years it is not an easy course lots of variety. Two days ago I brought 7 new friends to the course and they loved it, Mr Starter was a fun guy and welcomed us all. Oh I forgot, I HAD AN EAGLE on hole 13 !

Course is in great shape. Pro Shop folks were great. I walked 18 and it was great exercise and not too much. Best value I have ever seen for green fees. The course if non-profit and supports the kids and community.

The employees were rude. The greens were non existant or poorly taken care of. The only good part of the entire course are the sand traps. I would not suggest this course to anyone.

LOVE YOUR DRIVING RANGE BUT THE PEOPLE WHO WORK ON SUNDAYS ARE NOT VERY NICE. THE REST OF THE WEEK THEY ARE OK. IF THE SUNDAY GROUP DOES NOT WANT TO BE THERE THEN DONT COME IN.

Short, narrow and a lot of fun. Decent shape but priced very well. Wife and I walked it. Driving range across street. Go there first if you want to warm up.

Fun course. The only reason I didnt give a 5 star rating is because of the greens. They seem SUPER slow and can completely throw your short game off.

This is simply a bad course. Greens, fairways, everything is in poor condition. Waited 20 minutes for shot and left after 8 holes. Dont come here.

Great course. A vast improvement over the original one that was in downtown Clearwater.
