This was by far THE WORST deep sea fishing experience I have ever had in 40 years of fishing. There was approximately 20 patrons on the boat and roughly 21 fish caught and the picture posted with this review is accurate as to the total amount of fish caught collectively on a ALL DAY fishing trip. I have never experienced a situation where the prime fishing position on the boat is reserved for what was termed to be "THE REGULARS".. for an indefinite period into the future. In fact the rather large grouper in the middle of the picture was caught by the captain of the boat while all the patrons looked on in amazement. The captain came down from the steering cabin after observing his fish finder dropped his line in the water off the left side of the boat and like magic a grouper appeared on his line. Well it appeared to be his line, because his line was tangled in with a patrons line and before it could be determined whos line was who, the mates cut both lines and declared the captain the one who caught the 23 pound grouper. And to add insult to injury on the way back to port the captain announced over the intercom system "I am sorry for such a bad day of fishing, but that is why it is called fishing and not catching". In my opinion, if you are seeking to just go out to sea and look at the ocean, this is the boat for you. On the other hand if you are looking to go out and catch fish, I strongly recommend looking at a captain other than Ocean Obsession.., Wasted money., wasted time...

I was very skeptical about this trip due to the reviews. We got our tickets through Patrick Air Force Base Out Door Rec, who are amazing by the way. We pulled up 30 min early and I immediately was hoping that boat was not ours. It was, me and my son went on the boat and found a spot on the right side because they said the right side was reserved for the military due to the Out Door rec paying and reserving it. I immediately noticed that half the people were not military, I have been active duty Air Force for 16 years and Im sorry but you cant be 5ft11 300+ pounds and be in the military ok. Even though we were already packed more people continued coming on to where me and my son and other people was standing shoulder to shoulder but chest to back, back to chest. No way we going standlike this for an ALL day fishing trip. We tried to go in the cabin but i looked in the windows and all the tables and seats in there were also filled up. We decided to take a loss of money and leave before the boat even took off. Peace I would not take that trip if it was FREE. I have been on several fishing charter trips with a lot to people but this took the cake Xs 10.

I had a good time with my son, but was let down after a great trip last year in Panama City. The deck hands asked for tips at least a half dozen times, but were more into fishing themselves than helping guests. Out of four fishing stops only one was good. During that stop the crew did work hard, and the food was good as well. Not a total bust, but a bigger boat probably would have helped with the rough sea. Was thankful the lady checking us in highly recommended buying dramamine. Many people were throwing up and some had a very rough day. It is extremely hard to standup on the boating and will work you over while trying to stay on your feet and fish. I will stick with fishing on the golf. This trip in not for young kids maybe under 8, or older people. Last year we walked home with a whole bag of fish, this trip not one. Very few took home fish out of 60 people. We did catch a couple of big red snappers that you have to throw back. Most people caught 5 to 8 fish. Not sure how Captain Andrews in Panama City know where the fish are, but these guys need to go on a trip up there to see how bad their trip is.

As with any fishing charter you get what you pay for. We were not particularly impressed with this charter for the cost. To start off we spent about 20-30 minutes before heading out so that the crew could throw out the net to get live bait for them to use during the trip. This wasted time cut down time from the actual trip. The captain could hardly be heard giving out information or instructions which could be a safety issue. We realize the patrons are allowed to smoke but its a little unprofessional when the mates are holding a cigarette in their mouth as they are removing fish from the line or untangling lines. Confirm the food was free and the cook did a good job in getting peoples orders but those who didnt eat pay for something not used. They have free drinks but not canned products and it tasted more carbonated than actual soda. The water was from the filter and tasted salty. Lastly, how do you have a boat of this size and only one bathroom that people sit in front of and in a inconvenient place. Well definitely try other charters but wont be going back to this one.

My family went out on a half day trip Sunday April 9th. The boat was full, but we knew this prior to reserving our seats. The customer service was great! They truly care about their passengers experience. My family of 4 called 1 day prior to departure & the boat was completely booked but luckily we were able to get on when another group cancelled. The day of departure they ask you to get there atleast 30 minutes prior to departure- we were running a few minutes late & they called us to make sure we would still make it! The boat was very clean compared to other fishing boats we have been on. There was a decent selection of food to chose from for lunch. The deckhands were knowledgeable and made sure that every passenger was taken care of. The deckhands would bring certain fish around to let others see them. My 5 year old even got to pet a small shark that was caught! This was truly a great & memorable trip thanks to the awesome crew!

Went on Ocean Obsession on 9/1/13 After a 2.25 hour boat ride out only to spend time catching nothing but little fish (4"-6") that were not legal to keep we moved to another spot only to catch 5"-7" fish which were not legal to keep. After several moves on the same reef, and 3 hours of fishing, we returned back for another 2 hour boat ride home. on a 8 hour trip. Dont beleive what they say about the air conditioning. It is only in the wheel house where everyone is not allowed. Food was OK at best. Water on the boat was like I drank out of a horse troff. and then they go around asking for tips at the end. About 50-55 people on the boat only to catch a about 15 fish. (Dont think you will catch that 1 fish, cause you wont) Next time I will pony up and go on a charter to catch some fish. Thank God for Grills Tili Bar!!!!
