A wonderful experience. I stayed after the tour to talk with one of the Park Rangers whove worked the site for decades. Seems I asked a question no one had asked... Regarding the rugs in the foyer...and if there was blood stains on the underlying wood floors. It was a question that sparked some serious consideration for delving into the documentation of the nights events. Not sure what it turned out... Im looking forward to another visit.. just to say hello. It gets packed and its a small space.. so may not be for the claustrophobic...

Sadly i wasnt able to get into see the amazing fords theater but a great staff member saw that i was in a wheelchair and helped me get through the many houndreds of bus tour people to an elevator to get inside the museum, it was a somewhat wheelchair accecable museum except for the floor where he died, but the staff was still great to get me to see it all anyway. A huge must see!

Theres not much to say about this place. Its the house where Lincoln was carried after he was shot, and the place where he ultimately died. It has been decorated and made to look just as it did on that tragic day. The Park Rangers there are a wealth of information and knowledge. If you ask them questions youll be surprised at the other insights youll get from them.

We toured the Peterson House (where President Lincoln was taken after being shot and died the next morning) because we could not get into Fords Theater due to a showing. There was a lot of history about Lincoln and the quest to capture those responsible for his assassination.

Also an integral part of the Fords theatre visit. Seeing the tiny rooms recreated is sombering. Go up to 4th floor and work down for a more indepth exhibit. Then walk down the two flight around a HUGE stack of books about Lincoln. Great pic option for Lincoln fans

After seeing Fords Theater, this is a must see. The "tower" is truly impressive. So much to see and the gift shop isnt filled with cheap touristy gifts.

Its makes it very easy to picture this event as it actually happened. Small house so be prepared for that if you are trying to navigate kids.

I you want to go on the Lincoln tour this has a lot of the great things. You can see how Lincoln was a large man in a very small bed.
