Love the park but they have an old man screaming at people kicking them out before the park is supposed to close wich is at 8 pm. i had the nastiest expirience today what happened is just not acceptable i don even know how to feel this is america its not supposed to be like that it was 7:35 pm and im parked my cars both of my dogs were really happy because i was going to walk them. when i saw the sign outside that the park closes at 8 i said alright i still have around 25 min to walk my dogs since i live in upper marboro which is around 45 min from the park. but as soon as i get off the car i see this man inront of my car screaming im ready to close the gate so im like what ? and he said IM GETTIN READY TO CLOSE THE DOOR so im like excuse me do u work here ? because he didnt i troduce himself and the guy was very aggressive with his tone and body language so i told the guy excuseme sir why you screamig at me i don know if work here or not but i do know that youre not supposed to be screaming at people then he kept screaming so i told him please dont get any closer to me stay were you are because i did got kinda scared and then he said he was gettin ready to close the gate and that he was gonna leave me there inside the park and i looked around there were like 10 cars next to me and people walking, riding bikes, kids playing in the playground i mean it wasnt time to close yet man and after that the guy left and came ten minutes after screaming from far away HEY at me so he was still screaming so i ignore him because he was talking to other people that was black and since he was black they were getting along so good and since i was spanish he was screaming at me like crazy for no reason whatsoever... im not racist period i have a lot of black friends that i call brothers but i think that man was racist so its not acceptable. I think that before he aproach someone he has to at least introduce him self and say that he works there. like i said im very disapointed im never going to go to this park again but if i do and that guy screams at me agai im calling the cops right away. Think twice before u come to this place specially if you are spanish since that guy will most likely scream at you and tell you to get out as well.

I just left my first canoe/kayaking experience. If youre new to this area of water recreation I highly recommend this park. The staff and Anacostia Watershed Society volunteers are uber friendly and extra helpful. Ive lived here in MD since 2009 and this place is so close by I cant believe Ive been missing out all this time! Oh and its affordable and tight budget friendly. I went with a group of 12ppl and we spent $6 each for a whole day of kayaking, canoeing and paddleboating...lol! Now that Im hip to this hidden treasure I look forward to more adventures in river!

Peaceful area, great friendly staff, I cant say enough about this place. I had no idea this place was hidden in the area. The site is very fun-filled with lots of activities; boat ride, kayak, canoe, all this and its next to the Anacostia Watershed area. You can beat it! If you are looking for an expensive, fun time, this is the place for you. And yes, they rent space for parties, as well.

Nice and historic place. ample parking. Very urban. Unfortunately, the museum I wanted to see was closed, according to the sign in the door. And, there was a tent set up with blasting techno music - right next to the "no amplified music" sign. Could hear that as far as we hiked. Paved trails, shared with bikes and rollerblades. Not much shade.

Beautiful place with a nice view of the river. And with a diversity of animals in their natural habitat such as beavers, ducks, hawks, rabbits, geese, snakes, deer and different birds. Beautiful trails for walking or biking. The place is fantastic and very relaxing.

1 time a saw a dead moose in the water it was all dead and greasy it had a bad smell and the other day a saw it with blood all over it it was creepy but the park is soooooooooopopooooooooooooooooosososososososo NICE

A fantastic place to learn to row--wonderful flat water. And a great place to immerse yourself in the natural world. Last night, while rowing, i saw several bald eagles, a plethora of herons, and a few turtles.

This is a gem of a park. Plus great canoe and kayak rental facility, plus pontoon boat tours of the amazing Anacostia River. A side of DC that you wont otherwise see, but should. Its quite wonderful.

This is a great spot for nature lovers, peaceful fishing, boat/kayak rentals, picnics, and those who would just like a scenic walk. I will decently bee back! Bring the dog...:)

Rent canoes and kayaks, which you can paddle to the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. With a playground and covered seating, it is a great for picnics and large groups.

Not well kept, when I went, the trash smelled. The historic landmarks are great, and lots of fun, the park too; but the rest is somewhat disappointing.

This is a nice park with a cool caboose for kids to play in. The staff inside the boathouse can unlock it for you.

Great place to rent a kayak or canoe for day use. Kennilworth Aquatics Garden is an easy paddle down stream.
