ELGEN23!? ELGEN23!?
Nice place with average beers. I tend to judge a place based more on how well they brew traditional styles. The Kolsch here was very disappointing but not unlike other local establishment attempts. Something about the yeast profile is off both times I have had it which points to improper fermentation temps or underpitching/stressed yeast. It is drinkable but more estery and phenolic like a hefe. The other traditional style I tried was a Vienna Lager which was better than the Kolsch but still missed the mark in my opinion. They had some seasonal IPA that I had a taste of as well. It had a nice hop profile that was covered up by a lot of malt character not becoming of an American IPA. I would say the beers are decent however but that qualifies as outstanding in most peoples book these days. If you build it, they will come. The beer is secondary...

Service was very good. Atmosphere is more trendy than Id prefer from a brewery but it wouldnt stop me from going back. What will stop me is the beer. Really surprised they launched a full fledged brewery with beers that are average at best. My buddies and I have been brewing for a year, and I think our beers would be on par with Grist (thats not a good thing). Their brown tastes like a mixture of cigarette butts and malt. The stout and the IPA are both lacking flavor and aroma altogether. Even the "american" IPA was blah, although the nose was nice. Im not a Belgian fan, so I cannot speak to their belgian strong and the bock wasnt available. I wasnt about to spend another dime in that place so I didnt try the Kolsch. Sorry Grist, you have a long ways to go!!

When Grist first opened, I was really worried. The beer wasnt very good, the location was dismal, and the ambiance was decidedly... well, "steel. Steel everywhere." Theyve really come into themselves. The beer is much better and is a solid local choice. They get good food truck traffic now, too. However, theyre still surrounded by a bunch of commercial space like dentists and tax preparers. So, theres not an easy way to get here unless youre driving and even still parking can be at a premium on busy evenings. Im really impressed to see this location prove themselves like this. Usually "meh" beer cant cut it in this town for even a few weeks, but they really turned their quality up a few notches and it shows!

If you are looking for a place to go have a beer and/or hang out with a friend, Grist is awesome. Ive sampled several of the IPA style beers and they were rock solid. They typically have 6-10 choices available at any given time. There is a giant bar and a living room-type area with couches, chairs and TV. Insider Tip: they dont serve anything other than beer; no food, no other drinks except water. However, on the weekends they have a different food truck each evening parked right outside. You can bring your food inside and they also permit you to order food from other local restaurants and have it delivered. We love Grist!

Was in Pittsburgh for just a day and found Grist when googling a place to grab a beer. Cant recommend this place enough. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the bars golden retriever pup, it felt like I was enjoying a cold one with old friends. The beers are really outstanding and the staff is super friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Enjoying a few brews on the outside deck, we struck up conversations with a few local patrons and you can see why this is an after work hot spot and why people keep on coming back. Ill definitely be stopping in again next time Im in town!

OK, there is beer and there is BEER. Grist serves REAL BEER. I love this place. Cool people, music, TVs and just over all atmosphere. And may I say the BEST BEER in the southern part of Denver. So what, they have good beer. There are a few places in Denver with good beer. Its their service that really counts. Best Beertenders in town. Ask for Steph! She is my FAV. But you cant go wrong with any of them. Steve is awesome! John, the manager has been here and grown this place to the perfection of a true tap room. Please, come enjoy Grist. You will not regret it.

Great location. Brew staff does an amazing job delivering a high quality product across the board. Weve been coming here for two years, and have only watched it go from good to great. The beer is fantastic, and the service and people are even better! This place does some amazing rotating IPAS, and Im so excited to all the ones planned for this year! Thank you!! Huge shout out to the tap-room staff. Its an amazing group!!!!

Today - BerlinerW 5.5abv just ok, sour and nothing else in a paltry 10oz tulip glass not even worth the 6$ ; Eng-IPA 7.1abv 16oz on nitro, good, as advertised ; M-Stout 5.8abv 16oz cask excellent. - Mit-Hefe typical american w/o banana/clove bland ; E-IPA on nitro v-good for an English ; N-Stout good, nice malt, no roast on the finish. - Dog friendly, good Wi-Fi, outdoor seating, impossible to see from the street.

Its getting harder to impress the public with mediocre beer and at six bucks a glass... well, it should be fantastic. Tough to pay for that when your buddys homebrew is better (or your own). Guess youre paying for craft community and atmosphere. Worth a visit at least once to see if its your swing.

Grist is a chill place with great staff and beer. Their golden strong has been the best in the state for years now. They were also kind enough to let us host our home-brew club there for quite a while. Definitely check them out. They can be crowded but it is for good reason.

Awesome beer, awesome bartenders, only complaint was that the glasses were dirty. The bartender did replace the dirty glasses we pointed out (they had lipstick marks on them) with no complaint and comped us a taster set without us even asking. Great brewery besides that.

The girl that works here is one of the snobbiest and rudest bartenders Ive ever encountered. Not sure what her name is, but she was on shift this afternoon (8/20/17) when I was there. I love the beer, but will never return because of her. I hope a manager reads this.

Great Beer in a spacious environment. They always have new and exciting small batch beer selections, and its always hard to leave without filling your growler! I really like how close they are to redstone park. Grist is a great addition to Highlands Ranch

The beer is good. Beware of taproom employees. If you give them cash, theyll keep any change as a tip, no matter how much. If you have a tab, they may not be able to find it and youll find the real charge plus $50 for unclosed tab on your credit card.

Grist is the best brewery around highlands ranch! Ive tried all the others with LTB being my second favorite. But Grist is by far the best! Their beers are high quality with great flavor. They could become the next Stone brewing if they keep it up.
