Went for the Michael Jackson HIStory Experience with tribute impersonator Kenny Wizz. My first time to Paramount. The inside of the theater was very pretty with the original design and decor. It seems to be well maintained. As nice as the theater and lobby was maintained, they really need to makeover the downstairs and bathrooms. Drab tan and brown. Looks so dinghy and depressing. The concert had a dismal selling - only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the floor sold. So they didnt allow access to the upstairs, including the bathrooms. So that meant ONE bathroom for everyone. For women, that meant 6 stalls/4 sinks! Spent my whole 20" intermission in line for the bathroom. Acoustics - seemed pretty good. Tho we were in the 7th row, so very close. I liked that our crowd response was loud. e.g. In the Buehl Theater, our applause and cheers sound very muffled - I always wonder how the audience sounds to the performers. But in this theater, I know the performers could definitely hear audience response. Full bar and some snacks. About 5 snacks; all I remember (and bought) was popcorn. Yes, the drinks seem expensive - a lot of things were $8. I got bottled water $4; popcorn $3. Bartenders seemed very friendly. I saw one reviewer where alcohol means lots of rowdy drunks. Because the theater was not sold out, and maybe because it was family-friendly and Michael Jackson fans, the crowd was not drunk or obnoxious. People were drinking and dancing and enjoying the music, but nothing concerning. I was thankful for that, as Id brought my kids. But I always do worry when theres a large crowd and lots of alcohol. Parking – plentiful. Two outside lots nearby, $12 for the evening. Tremont garage 2 blocks away. It’s a closer walk than it looks on Google Maps. We parked in the Pavilion garage, $7 for the evening. Just crossed 16th St, and the theater is right there to your right! I liked the size of the theater. Big enough for some props, etc., but small enough to be more intimate. Kenny Wizz, the performer, ran through the theater a few times along the aisles and back, making contact with the audience. That never happens in a stadium arena! I was worried about it being downtown, old, crowded, rowdy, etc., but we had a perfect experience. I’m sure a lot depends on who’s performing. I’d definitely go there again.

Over many years and many shows, I have loved the Paramount Theatre because it is a beautiful art-deco era venue with good acoustics, decent intimacy, a terrific location with nearby bars/restaurants, and it generally attracts some great acts. On the downside, their HVAC system is also from the art-deco era meaning it can become uncomfortably warm with a full house and quite cold in the dead of winter. Ditto for restrooms; plan on waiting. Seats are smallish but adequate. The Paramounts biggest problem is parking which is at the mercy of other facilities in the area. We recently saw a show that included parking @ Dominion Towers in the ticket price but after the show, we could not retrieve our vehicle because the facility was completely locked up. This despite the fact we were promised we would have full access for at least 90 minutes after the show. This was not true and there were several people in addition to ourselves that faced the same predicament. So enjoy the Paramounts shows, plan your bathroom breaks, and dress in layers but dont rely on their dicey parking arrangements regardless of price.

The show was fine, but this theater is very old and outdated. My wife, who is petite and thin was stuffed into her seat. Im a big guy and was extremely uncomfortable. My knees were basically next to the ears of the person in front of me. Likewise, I got to share airspace with the knees of the person in back of me. I could barely breathe. The seating is so bad, we actually left early. Airline coach is a step up from this. I get it, this is a historical theater. But updating the seating arrangements to fit people who arent from the 1930s would be nice. Bathrooms are inadequate. Staff seems like theyre inconvenienced by all these people walking around although the bartenders were nice. A friend says that he has gone to shows and sat in the orchestra section, which has more modern foldable, removable seating. This is spaced a bit better for modern bodies. These seats are also a super premium price for most concerts. Until we hear about a major overhaul, were going to avoid the Paramount. You should too.

The Paramount Theater in the past has been a top venue in Denver and I have seen a number of fine performances there. Unfortunately, in the last several years theater management began ramping up beer concessions (presumably to ramp up the theaters bottom line.) Since then, the Paramount Theater concert experience has degraded to the point where it is effectively a rowdy brewpub with some live music, if you are able to hear it. The number of loud, rude, drunken buffoons one is likely to encounter at a typical Paramount evening show (even the mellow acoustic performances) has skyrocketed. Theater ushering and security, which were fair to middling at the best of times, have become downright lax and apathetic, allowing the growing minority of rude boors to run pretty much out of control. I wont be going back anytime soon.

Beautiful Art Deco venue but dont go there for a theatrical performance. A friend of mine and I recently attended the 5:00 performance of the Russian ballet. The ballet itself was well worth the $61 Living Social price tag but everything from the extremely long entrance line that caused a 30 minute performance delay to the rudest, most inexperienced usher in charge of Orchestra Left ( guy with gray hair and glasses) was a colossal failure. People were allowed to leave and return the auditorium at any time during the performance to get beer and popcorn causing dozens of disruptions. It was impossible to enjoy the ballet. We were not the only people disgusted with the handling of the crowd as many around us were venting their frustrations as well.

Solid venue and the best sound quality in the city. The security is lax when dealing with guests. Saw a man, super-drunk be escorted out after trying to start a one-man mosh pit during the BUSH concert. While getting a beer at the bar, I saw him talking to a security supervisor and he was allowed back in. In 25 years of concerts, Ive never seen that. He continued to be a hassle and kept knocking into other people the entire show and basically molested Gavin Rossdale while he was in the pit. Oh yeah, did you guys find the person who threw a beer at him 10 seconds into the show?

We went and saw Peppa Pig for our 2 and 3 year old kids. They had a blast and I love the Paramount. My wife and I have gone a couple times to watch the Warren Miller movies. I must say the beer selection is really great! My only knock against the Paramount is that if youre watching a play, and sitting at the top, it can be difficult to see the stage. If youre watching a movie its not bad at all since the screen is elevated. Overall I would definitely recommend catching a show at the Paramount!

I saw FACE Vocal Bands holiday concert here. Admission was very quick once doors open, electronic tickets were scanned and a paper ticket printed almost immediately. The small lobby was decorated for the season and included vintage photos of the history of the theater. Inside the theater had a cozy and quirky feel that is unique to older theaters. The seating is fairly large but there is not a bad seat to be found. The one negative was exiting through the small lobby took quite awhile.
