Its a historic film venue that has alternately succeeded and struggled and succeeded again across its long history. They currently book a wide variety of musical acts, with the occasional classic film thrown in. If the show you see is not to your taste, the upstairs balcony bar is an awesome spot to hang out. My only complaint is that the chairs are not particularly comfortable and if people manage to shift their row back, you can not have enough room for your knees--let alone people to get by. The balcony does not have this problem, but you are a long way from the show. Parking in downtown Boulder can be tough. Park early is the best strategy. The BBQ is fairly good in the attached Ghost Pepper bistro next door.

Saw Social Distortion here. Got thrown out for crowd surfing. Its a little hard not to when you were thrown up there from the heavily regulated mosh pit. Give me a break! I didnt even get a warning. I tried to be nice and explain that I would sit down and watch the rest of the show and they were all "nope, no crowd surfing". Then put up a sign or something!!! What a waste of an over priced ticket ro begin with. The bouncers are all weenie Boulderites on a power trip.

Took my 5 yo son, who lives with CP, and the venue was very accommodating by providing a chair for him to sit on. However, he preferred to stand on it for the better view. He then wanted to get closer, so we kinder packed him to the front, leaving his walker in the "ADA Reserved" area with his chair. He had a blast being close to the stage and all other goers respected his walker.

Nice theater but tiny, nowhere to get anything but the tiny crowded bar, which has a mid- size selection. Excellent seating and staff, i really enjoyed having to park In a 2 hour paid parking for a 4 hour show without reentry. Honestly, if not for the excellent experience i had with the staff, it would be 3 star compared to other venues, but they really wowed.

Saw lamb of god here & had an awesome time. Small venue for a heavy metal band but made it memorable experience, rare to get up so close but not much room for moshing. Barricade broke after the first song & had to wait for it to be put back up tho. Friendly bartenders & fat tire was a reasonable $5. Neat building & good sound too. I hope to be back!

Really nice venue with great sound. Im someone who likes standing at shows, and the tiered floor here is really comfortable. I usually get up front, but Im sure people toward the back still have an excellent experience. And at the show, the staff and bartenders when all cool, with security folks wandering around all night.

Good venue for a show. Security is just generally out of control. Ha 3 of my 5 friends got kicked out before the show even started. For drinking a sip of vodka, after one of them forgot ID at home. I feel like they could be a little more courteous to their paying patrons. But maybe this place is run by the gestapo I dunno.

Nice venue, Ive only been here once (Skinny Puppy) but it was a good show. I sat up in the balcony because my back was acting up, great view of the show. My only complaint...it may have been too loud, the speakers seemed like they couldnt handle the sound coming out at times. Still, an excellent show.

The boulder theater is a great place to watch a film. We have seen a couple ski movies here, never a concert, but it is a great setting. The bar in the center is nice with great selections. The seats are original so they are not the most comfortable but the ambiance of the place is terrific.

During the shows, the bar is overrun with people. Not a big shocker for most concert or show-goers, but it can be a bit amazing if it is your first time there. That said, the venue is very nice - clean, pretty, etc. See a show there if you find yourself in Boulder for the weekend!

love the place, the music, the vibe. but some of the recent management and staff treats people very disrespectfully and when the show is over the yell at the top of their lungs right in your ears to get out! which is very much a buzz kill to the lovely evening of music.

What a great venue... Very intimate 1200 max capacity. Reasonably priced drinks and swag. Great staff! Thank you all the Boulder Theater staff for a great Chevelle and Black Map concert. My wife is short and the sections are tiered to where even she could see everything

Cool venue for movie premieres and events! Not as great for concerts but dont let that dissuade you from attending one there! Nice large bar in the venue, but very strict about their alcohol policy. No food service which is a bummer, but otherwise awesome place!

This is a great theater. The seating is pretty old school. The bar is awesome and has great tenders. The sound system has been updated but the theater is unchanged for the most part. Love the painted ceilings and walls. You dont see theaters like this any more.

I have loved it in the past, thought every seat was good until I got late tickets for the main floor back right (assume the same for left)in the corner up by the bar. Man, those are bad seats (Im 60" - could have stood and really annoyed the people behind me)

The Boulder Theater is a must see for music lovers. The interior and ambiance absorb each visitor You cant help bit have an unforgettable evening. Go to the show early and have a cocktail at Georges and you can be the first in thru the Georges enterance!

Awesome place to see a show. Art Deco design. Ive see some of the best shows here, and it has a great viewing area. Sometimes it will get hotter then Haiti, and the bar might be a little pricey but its a great place to see a good band at a small venue

Wow, never been subjected to so much searching, scrutiny, and harassment by staff at a show before, let alone a chill group like BoomBox. Dont care to be treated like a criminal in order to enjoy a show. Wont buy tickets for this venue again.

This theater is well maintained and clean. I like the size and available seating. This is one of the best places to enjoy great times, great friends and such awesome comedy. Loved the training center, taught me confidence, wit and fun.

Its a good venue and the bar mixes pretty good drinks. Depending on the event, there are a few seats that arent great for the view, but if you get there early for any general admissions, then you should be able to find a good one.

Wonderful venue for any sort of music. Make sure to secure a place on the sides or the floor as navigation the rails around the soundboard from the bar to the locations is tricky. Excellent sound and balcony. Staff are all heroic.

Good place for a closer, more intimate show if you dont mind standing up the whole time. The seats are too tightly packed together - very uncomfotable. Downright painful for tall folks with the narrow aisles.
