Sweet shop with knowledgeable people working behind the counters. the shops a little intimidating if youre a novice starting out since they have a huge selection of fish, but the guys will guide you in the right direction if you ask for help. the shops run by a bunch of males and they were nice enough let my 5 year old in back to use the restroom. I bought a piece of driftwood for that alone since I wasnt ready to purchase fish. The shop is big, clean, and not a trace foul smells in the air. To me it seems these guys care about the shop and what theyre doing. Ill be back for sure. killer planted tanks! update 03/2016 - i finally purchased a small pot of baby tears from ck fishworld and was concerned since they didnt have any roots. he made a pot for me from clippings in one of his tanks. i less than a couple of miles from ck fishworld and i can say theyre growing mad like weed in my lil planted tank! they didnt shrivel then come back to life or do anything that happens when you sometimes bring aquarium plants into a new environment. they just shot up like wild insane weed. i included a picture as an update. im gonna head down there today and buy a lil pot of dwarf baby tears and see what happens. :) update: 05/2016 - make sure to check in on the tablet by the cash register and you should get $5 off your first purchase and $5 every 5 purchases thereafter. :)

Awesome place! Love the guys there. They are so helpful and know fish. I drive an hour just to go to there. Its not a huge place but well stocked and good customer service. You may have to wait sometimes while they are helping someone when they get a lot of people at once, but Ive never been to a fish store where I havent had to wait once in a while. There are lots of places I can go between my house and this place and I dont go to any of them anymore. I go to CK because its a great place to go. They wont sell you sick fish either. If they get sick fish they treat the tank and tell you....these fish are sick right now, we arent selling them just yet(unlike places like petsmart). Ignore the one bad review, its way off. They arent "Thugs". There arent "many dead fish". I havent been to a fish store where I havent seen at least one dead fish in a tank while looking around. Fish die, it happens. How would this person know anywat...they said they "walked in and walked right back out"??

Really good prices and a large selection of fish. The store doesnt stink and the tanks are all very clean. The workers were very nice and helpful. I got 3 emerald corycats, 1 anubias Nana petite, small driftwood, and they gave me some frogbit and duckweed for free. Also in the duckweed I discovered 3 baby blue shrimp and I didnt mind the little surprise so I put them in my tank as well. The tanks for sale in the back are also really affordable compared to petco/PetSmart. I will be coming back soon and I highly recommend to anyone especially those barely getting into the hobby because I know Ive wasted a lot of money at chain pet stores.

I see an obvious case of another shop trying to take out thier competition electronicly when they cant do it with better service and prices. I have been using this shop for several years. Peter is knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. When you enter his store to your right is a well stocked plant section, as you continue around you come to a section of fresh water inverts, then saltwater fish, corals, and inverts, then a section for fresh water fish. I was there two days ago and ALL his tanks looked clean and healthy with no dead or unhealthy livestock. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

They have made MAJOR improvements since I last went to this store back in Jan of 2011. No Dead fish in any of their tanks. They have a wide selection of fauna and flora especially saltwater. The store is well-maintained and clean. The staff and the owner (Peter) are very friendly, knowledgeable and always wanting to help out. Overall I am very satisfied with my experience and purchases there. Im always visiting this place often! I recommend this fish store.

I do have to say this place sells hard to find fish not only that if you have a planted tank as well like I do youll enjoy this place even more. there was a review that I had read said something along the lines as these "Thugs" honestly they now their stuff when it comes to fish and different plants. I have been to several different stores and this one by far is one of my favorites. the other location I shop at is Jans Aquarium in Montclair

Went in today looking for a nano set up and they were very helpful. The shop owner ( I think) even gave me free frog bit and duck weed. No other fish store like it. I was expecting to go to various stores looking for the tank I wanted but found it instantly at this place, great quality, great prices! Plus they have crazy varieties of nano fish and shrimp, this place cant be beat!

Ive been going to this store for over a year now. Always been treated great here and the prices are good for what you get. The owner here is a humble family man who even takes your heavy fish bag to your car for you! This store specializes in both fresh and salt water. Occasionally I find large and rare fresh water fish. Great looking discuss and decent selection on plants.

One of the best aquarium hobby stores in the entire area. They have an extensive collection of fresh and saltwater: fauna, plants, corals, food, substrates, supplies, tanks, etc etc. Staff here are very friendly and the owner of the store wants to make sure customers are satisfied. Definitely go check it out if youre into tanks.

Wide variety of fish and aquarium accessories. Had just started my tank cycle and rather than just sell me some fish to make a quick buck, they suggested that I let the tank cycle with the two small fish we already had. The fish might be a little more expensive than the major chains, but I appreciate the service.

Walked in, and walked right back out. The gentleman up front (and I use that word loosely) did not greet us, and clearly do not care about their livestock...at all. Thugs. Saw many dead fish and nothing but unmaintained tanks and miserable livestock. Worst saltwater setup I have ever seen.

They are not professionals they sell drugs and using the stores as a stand to sell illegal drugs. The staff looked stoned and they look like thugs. The store looked dark, dirty, and unmaintained. I suggest to get your fish else where to avoid trouble.

This store has completely changed in the last year. It is now the best source for the Planted Tank aquarist in north LA County. They have a good selection of plants, lots of fresh water shrimp and fish that you just dont see any where else.

Everything is great. Friendly and extremely helpful. Everything is worth their price. Plants are healthy and pretty. Fish are well kept and theres always new ones. Great place with great fish, plants, and anything else aquarium related.
