If youre planning to use this place as your wedding venue..Read This!!!! We married here in 2014. Our wedding was stunning. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful until the day of the wedding ( when it counts most). This place is not cheap. Its kept up, but needs painting desperately. Food is good, not excellent. Some items are better than others. We spend a fortune on flowers, extras and table linens. I was amazed how gorgeous my wedding turned out to be but honestly, the flowers and table linens made it spectacular. Without that, it would have been mediocre. Never heard how beautiful my wedding was from the coordiator, and it undeniably was. Although, workers told us that they never seen the place look so beautiful . Coordinator was cold day of wedding. After wedding, we were literally rushed out of the ballroom so they could . clean....we rented the whole mansion....why was it sooo imperative that a few of us rush out of the ballroom so.you could clean?????!!!! And, the kicker is my friend was playing the piano for me to end the night. They never asked us for photos yet the keep the same god awful picutres to.promote the place. Just totally dissapointed. My wedding however was incredible and turned out exactly as I planned. For that Im grateful. Do your research before you book. I had read other reviews saying key people were cold after the wedding was over. I didnt belive it. I get it now.

From a vendors perspective. Our bride and grooms wedding was on a friday. The mansion itself is absolutely gorgeous. However, when we arrived, there was no staff to let us know where to position anything. There was zero help.It was un believably hot,You have to walk alot,up and downstairs ,carrying massive centerpieces, when we finally asked if they have an elevator,we were told "NO".this place is nothing but stairs.so,my best advice if you are loading and setting up,bring plenty of help,or ask the bride to have some strong family members there to help.when we went to decorate the arch, there wasnt a ladder,or any help as to where a ladder may be.as staff started to arrive they would not even make eye contact with us.It was as though they werent paid to help.the wedding co-ordiantor showed up an hour before the wedding, she was also no help.I cant imagine they do not have an elevator, because,,how were disabled or elderly people supposed to get up and down all the stairs to the ceremony, the reception and then back down to the cake and the dancing..lesson learned for us.I am still sore,so is my staff, which we thought we had plenty of help.we set up over 200 weddings a year, and never have I ever been to a historical site that had no help.

I had my wedding at Grand Island Mansion on June 4th, 2017. The venue is absolutely stunning. I would suggest staying overnight with your wedding party. It was so much fun! We had pizza and drinks after the wedding and everyone had a fun time. The staff on the day of the wedding was great. They made sure everything was taken care of and that we were having a great time. One star minus for inflexibility. I think The Grand Island Mansion could be a little more flexible in how the do things. For example, I wanted to do a food tasting prior to the wedding, but they said, "no." On the day of the wedding, the food was "ok", but nothing amazing. This is why I would have liked to do the food tasting. Also, I asked about the plan B if it rains. They told me we would have to do the ceremony in the room downstairs, but I wanted to do it in the room upstairs. Again, not super flexible. Even though the mansion is set in how they do things, I would still choose this place as my wedding venue. It was the most stunning wedding and we had such a great time. Thank you!

I went here recently for a wedding, and it was really beautiful! The ceremony was decorated beautifully, and the pastel colors of the wedding blended well with the mansion as the sun set. The only setback was that there were a lot of mosquitoes. Cocktail hour was held out front, and champagne was served underneath the trees. I got bit so many times, and I couldnt wait to go inside. I wish they had citronella candles to keep those mosquitoes out. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic. The portion of the entrees were quite large. And after dinner, we were directed to go out to the patio, and it was a nice setting to get our groove on! After dancing the night away, we went inside to the Hemingway Room for pizza (which I think was provided by the hotel). It was a nice way to wind down and talk more intimately with the bride, groom, and the rest of the wedding party.

A great place and a good deal. Prices are surprisingly moderate. You get the whole lux experience and a drive out in the Delta country all rolled into one. Bring your camera because you will have many opportunities to get a good shot in a one of a kind lux location. Your wife will treasure the photos. I like this place so much that one time I left a ginormous tip the way that wealthy high rollers do. The staff approached me and asked me if I had made a mistake on the tip. I assured them that no, I was in dead earnest. Once again, the prices here are very reasonable. Bring your swimsuit because there is a nice beach a half mile away in Courtland. Ten years ago, they served airline food here---but it was really good airline food. Today, the cuisine is normal American fare cooked up in a normal kitchen. I like it.

As a wedding photographer I can say that Grand Island Mansion is truly amazing place to get married. Grand island is breathtaking and I feel like any area is amazing. Gorgeous alley of trees that leads to mention, ceremony gazebo area, two amazing water fountains, columns both in front (ceremony area) on the side and on the back. Pool area with columns. So possibilities are endless!. Stairs inside mention, circle that is between entry and dining area, I say every spot is area to create masterpiece. I get butterflies when they work there:) Andrey perepelitsa MC Studios

I just had the best wedding reception EVER here! Sure, its amazingly beautiful, but in addition I thought the staff was nice and professional too, no obnoxious or rude servers here! The food was excellent and made to appeal to a wide range of tastes (nothing weird or gross) and everything was cooked properly, not over or under-done. The coordinator is like this amazing party ninja, she makes everything happen like clockwork while staying calm and smiling. I wish I could give the Grand Island Mansion an extra star, I just cant say enough good things, my guests were all VERY happy!

Had a great time here. The house is an amazing blast to the past. Exquisite furnishings and atmosphere. The grounds are wonderful and the Sunday brunch was out of this world. Prime rib, eggs benedict, perfect french toast, fruit, veggies etc.... Oh and plenty of mimosas flowing..... Will definitely visit again.

A beautiful old building with spacious rooms, a pool, basketball/tennis court as well as a built in movie theatre. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that the mansion (built in 1917) has some rooms (mostly the attic) where it feels like they were tacked on, rather than belonging in the mansion.
