Here 47 minutes and at least the WiFi works! Got here at around 10pm when the door was already locked so we buzzed. A few minutes later, my wife and I were greeted with "I need an ID and a credit card". Our check-in guy was clearly not equipped for a service-oriented job. But not matter, after a long drive, the only thing we wanted was to relax and have a hot bath. No hot water. At all. Filled the tub in vain, it turned out, as the water sat tepid. Same thing in the shower. The big name hotels would never, ever have this kind of problem. And if they did, you would immediately be given another room and a flood of apologies. This is a B&B, so we didnt expect anything super fancy, but as I sit here on the sagging (king size that happens to still be a prince size) mattress looking at the not-charming-but-simply-dated decor, I ask myself, what was I thinking? The ambiance reeks of a cheap motel. Our next door neighbors step outside every 15 minutes to speak extraordinarily loudly while they have a smoke. The TV is from 1976, the mini fridge sits on the floor, and furniture is made of wicker. Website only has photos from the outside- wonder why? And because the receptionist goes home after 10pm and the inn keeper is available only for emergencies, the only thing I can do is wait. Maybe tomorrow will be better. And the breakfast better be great. And next time were back at the Hyatt downtown. An historic and charming mansion, perhaps, but only from the outside. --- The next morning: Well, I hate to say it, but the breakfast at this place was an absolute mess. Coffee, tea, OJ, and water to drink. Coffee was acceptable but not great. A staff member delivered a plate of pumpkin spice bread and asked whether we would like a bacon quiche or a vegetarian quiche. Full stop. We asked for bread. No bread. We asked for fruit. No fruit. We asked for anything else besides a cake and cheese-bacon-heavy quiche breakfast, and there was no other option. Breakfast at this dump was quiche and cake. The advertised (on their website) "complimentary Continental breakfast buffet" did not exist. What kind of B&B doesnt have bread and butter??? I did try the pumpkin cake, and it was good, though. But pumpkin cake does not a breakfast make. Morning shower did have hot water, thank god. Got the hell out of there ASAP and pledged not to go back and to finish this review for the benefit of the paying public. When I checked out, I (very politely) paraphrased all of the above problems to the front desk manager and he said "Well, were going through some changes right now, so". So, what? I never found out. That was his explanation- no apology, no Ill-write-that-down, not even a hmm, thats odd- nothing. Clearly inept and under-trained with a pretty bad attitude. It was clear that there was some renovations going on, so I remarked that maybe if they werent ready to host guests, they should be closed until there were. He looked at me as if it was my fault that his crummy mansion (hilarious) was a sorry ramshackle excuse for a B&B. In sum, this place was shite. Overall impression: Do not recommend this place (one out of five stars). Rooms: horrible, outdated, we had no hot water, Service: very bad, young, confused-looking men with bad attitudes and zero knack for speaking or service. Breakfast: extremely limited (two items of food) and falsely advertised as continental, Ambiance: felt like a sleazy cheap motel undergoing a slow painful death.

We attended a Friday wedding at 11:30 a.m. the venue has limited street parking. It is conveniently areanged so that you can attend the ceremony in one room, move across the hall to have the reception, and move back across so you can dine. We felt that the beverages provided were watered down, due to being pre-made ahead of time allowing the ice to melt too much. The Pink was strawberry Italian soda flavoring and half-and-half. The Black was 7 up and two sticks of black licorice. The was coffee and tea available. There was not enough seating available or tables for guests to place their drinks. There were two appetizers walked about. The stuffed mushrooms were not bite-sized, meat filling was dry and over cooked. The crab patties were too large and had too much breading in the recipe. Once the ceremony room was converted for dining we were herded across the hallway. The bread basket had a rosemary foccacia and challah like sliced wedges. A pitcher of water at every table which we had to ask repeatedly to be refilled. Lunch was Caeser salad with some salad having glops of dressing and a chopped raw vegetable salad with bacon and blue cheese hunks. Both salads had oiled palm fronds as decorations which is bad form as decirations should always be edible. There was gnocchi in a cream sauce which were heavy and lacked flavor. Mashed potatoes were also served. Cooked mini carrots whoch tasted like the were pickled, served with perfectly broccolini, snd roasted butternut squash that was not peeled, under cooked, and were cut in a variety of shapes and sizes. There was roast beef which was hand carved and perfeclty cooked. This was by far the best item on the menu. When cake was served, they didnt place a piece at each place setting, it took a while for the table to get cake. Consideting there were two full sheet cakes besides the tiered wedding cake, there was no reason for the pieces to not come out on uniform sized slices. I was not impressed with the service and would not suggest to anyone to have their wedding or other special ocassion here. There is a coordinator provided with the service, I just didnt see the professionalism there.

We came to Vizcaya to attend a wedding in the family. THE CEREMONY: The ceremony was very intimate, not more that 100 or so people. The area in the back where it took place was along the side of the building and was surrounded in groomed vines and other fauna. Exactly what you would expect when it comes to the idea of a garden wedding. The amount of green that you wanted to see around you met a good standard but theres always room to add additional fauna when it comes to your own event. The size of this area fit everyone SNUG. There is not much wiggle room once you sat down in the pews composed of chairs, be prepared to tuck in your legs if someone were to try and sneak past you. That aside, the ceremony was beautiful and once completed, we were moved 20 feet away to the cocktail area. COCKTAIL HOUR: The hors doeuvres were delicious! Along with the alcohol provided (it was everywhere, and continued with an open bar), it was a great area to distract the guests while the wedding party took pictures for an hour. This area looked like a hipster backyard with vintage everything. Vines, worn tables, brick floor, and a beautiful white bench seat hanging under a tree. The area allowed the guests to breathe more and move freely compared to the ceremonial area. I would say twice the size with the addition of other paths that led to photo opportunities. THE RECEPTION: The reception hall was BEAUTIFUL! White walls, a dance floor, beautiful bathrooms, and portions of the ceiling were composed of stained glass. Not to mention the food, again, was delicious! The Open bar was basic, and the staff was efficient at any task that popped up throughout the night. OVERALL: -A great venue for small events. Anything past 125 people would be pushing it. -The venue is beautiful. -The food is GREAT! -The staff are friendly and great at what they do. I can imagine how many events they hold throughout the year, so they are seasoned. The experience was memorable and I look forward to coming back possibly for an event of my own!
