The casino is the only one for quite a while so everyone stuck coming here. It isnt very impressive. Came with my older sister who forgot her ID. They needed to check her ID and wouldnt accept a picture which is understandable. We tried to reason with the doorman and say how we drove 2 hours. We were meeting family, our parents and aunt and uncle inside at the buffet. He didnt care. Signs said ID to verify 21 or older so we said since you cant verify shes 21 then let our parents come to the front and "claim" her so she can just go to the buffet. The doorman didnt comprehend this concept. He said thats only for minors and we pointed out how the whole point is to avoid people underage so you need ID and people that cant be proven to be 21 can be escorted by their parents, as per their own rules and a giant banner right behind him says. Again, failed to comprehend this. We requested to speak to the manager to try to explain our case. Our exact words in a normal, calm tone. Manager comes with 7 security. 3 in suits and 4 in security uniforms and form a border around us. 2 clearly hiding behind a wall. The doorman meets the manager ahead of us and says "they found a loophole with parents and our trying to trick us". Manager comes to us shaking his head saying no. You cant come in without an Id. We go through it again saying how she has a picture, he says physical ID, which is fine. We mention how we drove 2 hours and our parents are inside the buffet. Manager says if we just said that initially instead of trying to make a bunch of excuses....I start laughing at this point and say we literally told the doorman that. Manager looks at the doorman who gets nervous and lies to him saying we gave him a million excuses and then after trying the "loophole" just mentioned how our parents are inside. Manager is obviously not going to believe me over his own employee. So I say, fine whatever...it doesnt matter. Our parents are inside so let them come and theyll tell you. Manager says no, how would I know they are your parents without IDs. Then keeps saying no to us and says we keep going around in circles and hes wasting his time. He was rude from the beginning, his doorman couldnt comprehend basic reasoning and they brought out 7 security members for 3 people that never raised their voice, kept saying please and thank you and were overly calm. My brother still had his ID so he went in to tell our family our older sister couldnt get in and there were hardly many people at the tables or machines. Our family later told us the buffet was pretty bad. As other reviews have also acknowledged, this casino simply does not care. They know they dont have any competition so they put in less than the bare minimum. Horrible place and horrible incompetent employees.

I stayed in room #339. Room came with a king size bed and balcony. Very clean, modern, and spacious. Huge bathtub that is perfect for a nice bubble bath. The balcony had a table and 2 chairs. Perfect to sit and enjoy breakfast with views of the Santa Ynez Valley.Theres a mini bar fridge that is filled with soft drinks, wine, and spirits. Price for beverages are definitely affordable although I didnt have the need for it since I brought my own. The hotel had a pool, jacuzzi, spa, and also a fitness room. I made good use of the fitness room during my stay. The machines were semi- new. Looks like not many people use it. The room is kept well with plenty of towels and water. I was not a fan of the casino, however, they give you $100 worth of free play if youre a LA resident (they go by the address on your ID). The $100 is split into two visits. $50 instant play, another $50 a week from your sign-up date. I guess its their way of getting people to return. The casino area is very smoky and need better ventilation. They do not allow any alcohol in the casino area as well. Theres a bar that serves alcohol but closes at 11:00PM. Overall, Id stay here again if I were to do another wine tasting but doubt Id be in the casino area. Check-in/out was a breeze. They offer complimentary valet as well.

I had not been there in a long time. My daughter now a teenager went with to help with her grandmother. Grandmother wanted to have some fun even though she is unable to fully walk alone. The issue had was she was not allowed on the casino floor, understandable. But not correct for a security guard to be rude about the stated policy " No minor on the Casino Floor." So my daughter and I walked to the gift shop which is at the lobby bellow the casino stairs thus off the casino floor. The security man, came up to us and was rude again by saying we are not allowed on the floor. I told him we are not on the casino floor but in the lobby right before the casino floor. Are we not allowed to look in the gift shop? Security said; Are you her mother? With an attitude. I said Yes, of course I am her mother. He rolled his eyes and walked away. It was a very unplesent experience with the ethics on how the security guard transcended the policy.

Rooms are nice, but expensive, food was ok, and service was good for the most part. Sadly, while celebrating a family members 90th Birthday, we had 2 kids under the age of 10 and everywhere we went (mind you neither of these children were EVER alone while on the casino floor)we were shuffled here, there, and everywhere by different security guards. We get it...you have to be a certain age to gamble but never once was the kids within <10 feet and ALWAYS on the "brown carpet" like we were told, but we couldnt stop for more than 30 secs anywhere. Waiting for someone in the restrooms "they cant be here", waiting to figure out if we are going to the cafe or buffet, "they cant be here"! It was WAY OVER THE TOP over something as simple as walking from the hotel to meals and back!!!!! Sadly NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!!!!! Even Las Vegas at least offers SOMETHING for kids!!!!!!! VERY VERY VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!

This place can be best defined by one word: tacky. The place isnt great, but it isnt bad, average at best. Its located 90 minutes from Los Angeles, near the Danish-inspired town of Solvang and it has plenty of parking. It is a growing resort and they keep expending and recently opened a new wing in their complex. I didnt sleep on location or go to one of their shows, instead I went there for about 30 minutes to gamble (and lose) $20 just for fun. They have a quite a few slot machines and a few tables for craps, poker and blackjack. They also have a more serious room for experienced poker players. Theres nothing special about this place and I dont think that Id bother going again. The only reason I was there in the first place was because I drove up to visit Solvang... Also, smoking is permitted inside the casino so your lungs might get an ass whooping if you stay there too long.
