Big Daddy Don Parker

I thoroughly enjoyed the Santa Paula Theater Centers production of Second Samuel, a poignant comedy they staged this summer (2013). I dont like to read too much about a play before seeing one, preferring to experience it as the playwrights conversation with me, and so I took my seat with no expectations. From the opening scene, I instantly fell in love with this production and stayed in love with it from start to finish. The costumes and sets took me to a small town in Georgia that I still revisit in my mind. The brilliant writing, acting and direction left me with questions I still ponder. What makes any of us "too different" from the rest? And what differences do our differences make? Bravo to SPTC! Ill be back to be entertained and enlightened by you again.

This play was the first play I ever walked out on at the intermission--I am 67. The lauguage was so inappropriate for any audience. I could see why your phone message says its not a good play for children. What were you thinking? People in polite, educated society do ot talk that way. Think about your audience. I rate it a zero.

This very fine theater presents some of the most outstanding plays you will ever see anywhere! Everything we have ever seen has been excellent--the plays, the actors and the venue are truly unique and special. This is one of Santa Paulas finest attractions!
