Booked this hotel on the recommendation of our daughter who stayed here on her honeymoon and wow what a recommendation. The minute you drive through the tree lined drive way you are treated like royalty. From the valet parking to check in your bags are whisked away by the duty concierge, ours was called Alan, what a guy so polite, friendly and helpful, next we were handed a glass of champagne whilst we completed the necessary check-in procedure. When toasting my wifes birthday the receptionist over heard and automatically upgraded us. Arriving in our well proportioned room on the 8th floor with Kings size bed and beautiful views across the city we settled in. A few minutes later a large bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries arrived courtesy of the staff and management. The hotel is a 5 minute walk out of the town centre, pier and a fantastic range of restaurants and shopping . At the weekends there is a resident DJ playing a great selection of modern beats in the bar and pool area. The hotel provides complementary bikes on a first come first served basis and we found this an excellent way to explore the Marvin Braude Bike trail which runs for 26 mile along the beach. Totally amazing and highly recommend but make sure you have plenty of sunscreen on I got roasted. The hotel pool area is a relaxed and chilled place to hang out with great music and waiter service for drinks. I highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Santa Monica easiest 5 stars ever awarded.

Love this hotel and the management is amazing. Pros: - Amazing Hotel (beautiful rooms, lobby, pool area, cabanas - Amazing Food - Great Happy Hour - The Pool Area is amazing (featured in many films and TV shows such as Entourage). I love coming here and posting up in a Cabana and work from there for the day. - Management is amazingly gracious and accommodating (If they can make your stay better in any way theyll do what it takes). - Drink variety and knowledge of their bar tenders is also top notch (if you want to have a few cocktails) - Decor really ties this hotel together (a classy, timeless style in every way possible) - Valet Service is awesome, they are super fast and handle it with the utmost respect. Cons: - Valet is pricey ($16 for non hotel guests and $8 for hotel guests). Street parking after 6 in front just past the Viceroy on your right going north on Ocean Ave. _______________________________________________ I love this place as its my go-to spot for any meeting over drinks for business or business partners. Viceroy is my happy place.

My first time to Santa Monica. Arrived early, room was not ready, but they offered a cabana by the pool until it was prepared. Upgraded to a 1-br suite; hand-written note by manager with complimentary water and cashews in the room. Excellent service. Fantastic location. Great vibe by the pool during the day. In the evening hours, the scene in the bar/pool was a little weaker than I expected, but thats more of a promoter issue than the hotel. Im at the London now - stay is not yet complete, but so far the service/experience at Viceroy is vastly superior. Also, I want to note that the room was stunning and I found the hotel to be beautiful, not in need of a face-lift as some reviewers have found.

I have only ever been here for a pool party hosted by amp radio. So I will be reviewing the pool area. It is very well decorated and upkeep is top notch. They spare no expense in cleanliness as well as decoration. Hotel staff was extremely friendly, even for the rowdy drunk group it was hosting. Drinks are a bit pricey, but what do you expect for a luxury hotel on the coast of Santa Monica? It left me curious to see what the hotel rooms look like. I might check it out in the future. If you arent staying at the hotel parking can be a huge pain. We found a massive lot that it way cheaper than anything else nearby.

Fabulous place to have drinks. The Viceroy s decor is sleek and sophisticated with pops of color here and there. From the moment you step into the hotel you immdiately feel a cool factor, but you never get a stuffy vibe. Both inside and outside seating areas have a great ambiance with more of a South Beach feel than Santa Monica. If you are looking for a place to stay in Santa Monica I would highly suggest staying here. Its location close to downtown Santa Monica, the hotel atmosphere, and sophisticated yet comfortable rooms offers a great sanctuary for visitors to call home while in Santa Monica.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with quick access to the promenade and steps away from the beach. Inside youll find a well equipped and accommodating staff that makes you feel welcome. The room I stayed in was a king ocean view, it was phenomenal. Towels, cleansing products, shower, hair dryer, iron television were all excellent. The size of the bathroom was surprisingly large and the room itself left nothing to be desired. I have yet to try the bar or restaurant downstairs, but the outdoor space and pool are phenomenal.

Gepflegtes Strandhotel mit gehobener Ausstattung in zweiter Reihe (deswegen "Vizekönig"?!). Ist aber kein Problem, der Strand ist einen Katzensprung entfernt. Sehr freundliches Personal, guter Service. Haben uns dort wohlgefühlt.

Le personnel est attentionné et très agréable, le petit jardin avec la trop petite piscine à larrière également, mais les chambres sont dénuées de charme, comme la façade de lhôtel. On aurait aimé un peu mieux pour le prix.

On arriving here I was impressed by the good, friendly service and the look of the room. Throughout the week the service remained immaculate, as well as the cleanliness of the room and the low noise meant it was easy to sleep. The only downside was that many other people liked the hotel too meaning areas would be reserved for events which would not allow you to get by the pool or be outside. Despite this I would recommend this hotel to others.

Great location and lovely rooms, but hotel will only change your linens if you request it (instead of automatically doing it after 2-3 nights). Edit: After staying there for 10 nights, I have to minus one star for noise. The walls are VERY thin, and if you are a light sleeper then you should be prepared to be woken up very early in the morning as the youll hear a loud *BANG* and feel the walls shake every time guests nearby leave their room.

We ended our California road trip at the Viceroy and loved every minute. The pool is dreamy and offers plenty of shaded areas for non-sunbathers. The customer service was wonderful, and we enjoyed some honeymoon perks. Excellent cocktails and snacks at the restaurant as well. Our roof was beautiful with a view of the ocean and palm trees. We will definitely stay again if were back in Santa Monica.
