Reserved to watch Star Wars here on New Years Eve before NYE festivities with other people, and had a fun experience! Our 3D showing was at 7PM and we got there around 6:30PM and took a short while at the bar before we decided to just order drinks from our seat due to the seemingly small staff working the bar (yessss full-service from your reserved seat!!) Walking into the theatre, we were able to find someone to help us locate our seats fairly quickly and began our studying of the drinks/food menu. The final choices were, breakfast burger, lamb meatball pizza, a glass of wine, a glass of whiskey, and two mixed drinks. Everything tasted amazing and our orders were made perfectly. Ordering was fairly easy, you just write down on a piece of paper what you want (napkins, water, and utensils included) and they come back relatively frequently to pick it up. The only downfall was that they seem to take complete orders by the order they were received, which is fair on many accounts, but I think they should consider handing out drink orders ahead of time so were not waiting, what seems like forever, for ANYTHING to eat/drink.. Despite having asked the server who picked up our order, specifically to bring out the drinks first. Breakfast burger -- if youre breakfast-obsessed like I am... This is a must-get! Delicious, juicy, breakfasty goodness!! Lamb pizza -- also delicious! .. The perfect mixture of crunchy and cheesy texture with lots of flavor. We also both loved the drinks we got and were surprised by how good the mixed drinks were. Definitely try the cocktails if youre into them. While waiting for the movie to start, they played a series of hilarious/retro star wars clips, and I loved every one. You dont get to see this at a regular star wars showing at Century! Throughout the movie, servers crouch down and move fairly quickly (were they trained..? So fast in such a dark environment..) and were relatively un-interrupting. Would definitely come back! (Unfortunately no pictures of food.. Since we were watching a movie after all..)

A fun and comfy way to experience movies. I came here on a Monday night with a girlfriend. We were able to grab tickets day of for the film and we got great seats. We arrived a little early so we could enjoy the old school previews playing before the movie started. The seats were comfy, plenty of room for jackets and bags, and we got settled in to order food. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Id give it 4 stars. For starters, it was a TON of food. A humongous fried chicken sandwich on white bread with hot pepper oil, pickled red onions, mayo, and bread and butter pickles. The chicken was better than I expected. Tender, juicy, thick, spicy, and a bit crunchy on the outside. It was served on a metal tray with french fries that were the right mix of soft inside and crunchy outside. Though the sandwich was good, at $16, it was way overpriced, especially since I could only eat half of it and I didnt think there was such as thing as a "doggy bag" from the theater. To be fair, I didnt ask... but still. The staff was friendly, but only semi-attentive. They often had to ask for clarification on things, which is hard during a movie, and small asks like "mustard on the side" turned into 15-20 minute deliveries. The movie tickets themselves are also priced higher, which makes sense for the nicer experience, but when stacked on top of the high priced food, made for more than Id like to spend on a movie night. Overall, I was happy with my experience, and when I go to another movie it will likely be here.

I love the New Mission Alamo Drafthouse! Its my favorite movie theater in San Francisco, along with The Castro. The Drafthouse has a pretty decent selection of beers and cocktails, and their food is pretty good, considering its a movie theater. The food and drinks are kind of pricey ($16 for a burger with thick-cut fries, and most beers are around $8), but its to be expected for San Francisco, I suppose. I LOVE the fact that all seating is reserved, so you dont have to wait in ridiculous lines to get in, like in other theaters: just purchase your tickets and select your seat ahead of time using their handy mobile app, and then show up 5 minutes before the movie is about to start. Your seat will be waiting for you! You may want to arrive earlier, however, if youre planning on ordering food/drink for the movie (service can take a while, particularly during popular movies). Also, the preshow trailers, clips, music videos, etc. that they show before the movie are awesome and usually themed according to the movie. Very cool! Just remember to dont text, talk or arrive late to your movie, or you WILL be kicked out. Theyre serious about that; Ive seen people turned back once the movie started or ejected because they were making too much noise. And good riddance, I say! I wish more theaters did that.

everything is great about this cinema EXCEPT that the entire front row of seats is so close to the screen that you cant actually see the whole image at once. Also you get headaches, and also the movie looks blurry because movies just arent meant to be seen at that resolution. This is all a problem because 1) the purpose of a cinema is to see the screen. Its lovely that the building is beautiful, the ceiling high, the seats comfy, the atmosphere classy.... but this is all made redundant by the fact that the human field of vision is limited and for some impossible reason they decided to put the entire front row in a spot which makes it not-possible to see more than half the screen at once; 2) this is such a high-class cinema that there are only four rows of seats, with huge gaps of space in front of each row, which means that a] literally 1/4 of the seats in the cinema are basically unusuable for the purpose of movie watching, and b] THERE IS LOTS OF SPACE FOR THEM TO MOVE THE FRONT ROW BACK if they were more focussed on movie-watching and less on the high-class cocktail-drinking experience. I really am sorry to leave this review because tickets were $10 and the space was genuinely gorgeous. Possibly worth going if you book a seat in the rows further back.

Great historic small theater feeling addition to the Alamo family. Traveling in San Francisco we were pleasantly surprised to find an Alamo location. Locals told us this is a historic theater in the Mission district. Smaller size theaters, with classic interior touches, arcade areas, bike racks inside and even a video rental section (we were told is temporary). Our waiter was a grump (not in that personality filled way) and the gift card we planned in finishing off required "technical support" in order to use the remaining $16 (never resolved), so we docked a star for the overall experience but definitely recommend this location for new Alamo converts or Victory members from outside SFO. ...Follow up... PR possession of some kind contacted me after the Yelp review and is attempting to help resolve the card issue. Unfortunately we didnt have enough information to help identify Mr. Grump pants but they offered to follow up! ...and it turns out this is a historic theater around 100 years old! Wow!
