Approximately 2 weeks ago I purchased two midnight showing tickets IN ADVANCE for the release of X men. On arrival at check in to theater the employee stated that there was no midnight showing for that movie. Once management had been notified they stated that earlier that day they made changes to CANCEL the midnight 3D showing in order to accommodate more shows even though we had already PAID for our tickets. There was absolutely NO NOTIFICATION and or attempt noted to notify me of this change, so my date and I showed up to the midnight showing expecting to see a movie. Per the employee, the manager said that they had no contact information to reach me to notify of the change. This is inaccurate because I received an email with my tickets, therefore information to reach me is in your data base, My date and I had taken the time to make the midnight showing, we bought popcorn and drinks expecting to see a 3D showing, and to a last minute change we were stripped of seeing the movie with the premiere seats we had reserved. After some imaginary manager over a headphone relayed information to the concessions person in the front, they hesitantly refunded us 4 tickets to return at another time. The inconvenience, lack of professionalism and accountability by the manager on duty was inexcusable. Clearly were numerous ways to communicate to me that the showing had been cancelled or re timed, a simple email or phone call to the phone number left on site when originally purchasing the tickets is available. This event left a bitter taste. Please see that if you do change show times that you notify those that already purchased tickets, even if it is just 2 tickets that were purchased, We purchased them in advance, expecting the great seats we reserved, on the release date of the movie.

I give this place a one star for only two reasons; one, prices are way higher compared to other theaters, now you might think that this place must have better seating and food then; Well sadly it isnt, the seats are pretty uncomfortable and the snacks are way too overpriced, like Red Vines are usually one to two dollars a pack; however in Arclight its $4.75. My second reason is that the customer service is absolutely terrible, I say this because of what I experienced today. So I was with my friends to go see the movie The Bye Bye Man, now obviously we talked a bit and got a little rowdy so we got our first warning. That part is completely fair; however with the second warning wasnt, because there were a group of kids behind us and were being a lot worse than we were; so they got their warning but during that time they told the security guard (the person giving us the warning) that it was our fault. Eventually we got our second warning and got kicked out because the customer service is so gullible theyll believe whoever talks to them first. Also like I said the price of the tickets are way to high, just go to AMC or something since its way cheaper and a lot nicer seating in my opinion.

I have had good experiences in the past with arclight in La Jolla but the prices are way too overpriced. I find $5.50 for a medium drink isnt reasonable. I went to see "The Bye Bye Man" with around 11ish friends and we spent over $200 on tickets and food. We watched under half of the movie because a family of 4, that came in reasonably late, complained and we got warned once, the family went to complain again and we were asked to leave but my friend told the security it was the crowd behind us making the noise. So he told them to leave but one of them convinced the security that it was us who was making all the chatter. So we got up and just walked out. I went back into the theater to tell them it wasnt us doing it and that not all of us were making the chatter. He said we were the ones making the noise because he is so gullible to believe anything someone says. He just took the kids word for it and kicked us out. We tried to get a refund but the cashier said she couldnt give us one because the security guard said we couldnt get a refund. Also the security guard didnt try to break down the situation and find out what group was making all the disturbance.

The worst movie theater ever. We went in nobody to greet you and help you with ticket. We went up to purchase refreshments and looked like they were shutting down and tossing popcorn into black trash bag. I asked to buy popcorn he then turned the popcorn machine and fill a bucket of popcorn. I asked if that was the popcorn he was tossing out he smiled and said yes. I looked in the bucket and it was full of popcorn seeds. I asked him to make a fresh batch because I wasnt paying for trash. He said something to co worker and looked annoyed. we had to find our own theater again nobody around. We went and sat in our seats that we payed over 15.00 for they were horrible so uncomfortable. I had to go back up to confession stand 15 min later to pick up my fresh popcorn and again nobody there. The guy just sat it on the counter and left it there. This place is the worst, I have never seen any movie place like this. Hopefully with all the construction they will rip this place down and put in bigger screens and better seats.

Went to a showing of Mad Max: Fury Road as advertised on their website and was on time, only to find the movie "cancelled" with no explanation why. Was then told, along with 2 other patrons, that they would restart the movie for us. After paying for a ticket and sitting down in the theater we were directed to, I sat through a round a trailers obviously not intended for pairing with the movie I went to see. By the time the feature presentation started I had realized that I had been sat in the wrong theater. When I returned to the lobby I was told that the movie I had actually come to see, could not be restarted and I was out of luck. I was offered a free pass for my trouble, but had to ask for a refund of the ticket I had just purchased, which I did receive. The bartender who tried to help in the situation was cordial and did his best, but this policy of canceling showtimes is bad business. I wont go back.

The website was difficult to navigate and very confusing. They have since updated it which is nice, but everything was stating that my tickets were for deluxe seating and since the ticket prices were similar to others in the area that had reclining seats, so thats what I was expecting. It was stadium seating with slightly padded chairs. The chairs were very small and I wasnt a fan of having the beer in the theater. The lobby becomes very crowded as they make everyone line up in the lobby to get into the theater area and they didnt allow you to go in until 10 minutes before the show, and then we still had to wait outside the theater to get in. The prices for concessions were ridiculous and did not offer any refills. Easily spent $70 on 2 people for the whole experience and definitely felt it wasnt worth it. The screen and sound were nice, but the prices...we wont be going back.
