Very disappointing. First, we came to see a comedian who actually did not do the comedy. She was only the MC. To our surprise the comedy show consisted of amateurs from around town. Two of several were mildly funny. Then, there is a two drink minimum. In an hour and a half you MUST purchase two drinks. If you decline to have a second drink security will come to your table and threaten you. "We need you to have two drinks! If you dont want to, I am not forcing you to leave, its your choice. Our policy is you MUST or you must leave." Carlos was the security guard. His breath was foul as he confidently got into my personal space and attempted to intimidate me into paying up.. Carlos probably did his job though. He threatened me to be removed from the club for not purchasing a second drink. Certainly management encourages aggressive behavior to ensure they make at least $10.50 per person, in addition to the ticket price.. It was Mothers Day, with my family, fortunately I had money, so I purchased a second drink, a water for $5.25! The punchline has an interesting business model. Sell you a ticket for a show that is not actually the show you paid for, then, post signs, "No Refunds" and force customers to buy 2 drinks, or throw them out. Yikes! Outrageous business model. Shocked there has not been a class action lawsuit.

Me and my boyfriend came here tonight for the first time. I won tickets off of the radio to see Theo Von. After waiting in line for a while we got seated up front. A lady came up to us and asked us what we wanted to drink. I said we didnt want anything. To which she replied. " Its a two drink minimum. If you dont buy drinks you will have to leave". I explained that I didnt have enough money and was unaware of this two drink mandatory minimum So she left. As the show was about to start the manager came up to us and asked why we werent buying the drinks. I said I dont have enough money to buy 4 drinks. I told him this is our first time here and we were unaware that we would HAVE to buy drinks. He told me its non negotiable and told us to leave. Everyone was staring at us as if we did something wrong, which we didnt. I have horrible anxiety and when I got outside I had a massive panic attack and couldnt breath, almost passed out and almost had to go to the hospital. I feel embarrassed. And I feel we were kicked out for no reason. For them to kick out people who have tickets that are paid for is rediculous. We came here for a night of fun but instead we got humiliated. I will never come back here and will tell as many people as I can about my experience so they will not go either. Customer service here is non existent.

Saturday Jan 10 8pm show with Josh Wolf. First time to visit the Punchline and see Josh Wolf live. Buying the tickets was interesting, since you can save $6 by getting them at the venue. I was not informed that Jiffy was not coming to the show with Josh and there was an extra $10-15 charge for drinks until after I purchased the non-refundable tickets. The venue is very nice and small and it got very hot as the evening progressed. We did get 3 new comics to start the show, 2 of which were very good. Josh Wolf had a lot of energy and had the crowd laughing all the time. He is very good up on stage. The show ran over time to 2 hours. I was glad I went to this show.

Ari Shaffir, Joey Diaz shows are great........ My friends and family have always had a great time here. I just recently went to go see the beautiful and elegant Ari Shaffir, and it was one of the best nights out Ive had in a long time. It always takes a long time to get drinks, and the whole menu is very expensive in my opinion ($6 for a 12oz beer, $10 for mixed drinks). However, the drinks are cold and taste good, and the wait staff is professional and friendly. I would recommend this club to anyone who lives in or around Sacramento (Or someone whos visiting).

It was rather smaller than I thought it would be. Moving here from Idaho I expected a much larger club than what we had there. HOWEVER, the staff was super friendly, even laughing and joking with us, even though it was really packed in there. The service did take a while, but Id like to see you fumble your way through a dark, packed room with a tray full of drinks. I would like to see some better/bigger comedians come to Punch Line but they do have a pretty good array as it is. I will definitely be back!

YOU BETTET ORDER 2 DRINKS AS SOON AS YOU WALK IN !!! I brought a date and sat down and the waitress came and asked for what we would like to drink. I told her we just got here and to give us 5 min until we are settled in and order. She berated me how people come and dont get the mandatory 2 drinks and she will wait for me standing next to me until I order.. Wow, that was embarrassing. Well, needless to say i order the drinks and she just ruined my vibe.

Saw Dave Chapelle last night, he made the experience worthwhile. Otherwise, the drinks were weak (if youre going to charge me for alcohol make sure you actually use some in my drink), and the service was mediocre, our waitress was easily confused. I was also disappointed by the crowd but I cant blame that on the club, just on Sacramento. The comedy & my guest were what made the night a success.

Very small and intimate comedy club. For a large headliner you may find yourslef with another goer and there date breathing down your neck, upside, it will probably be from trying to catch there breath to keep from dying of laughter. The acts booked here are hillarious and proffessional and the club is clean and mature. Highly recommend this place.

Seem to always have a problem getting seating with friends here. Sometimes theyre friendly at the door, sometimes theyre not. Drinks are ok. Service is fairly good. Overall, I have a good time, once inside. Did have our reserved tix lost once at Will Call & not let in, so buy tix ahead!
