A venue that became a staple in Sacramento, but a few downsides. I came here for Potluck show that was supposed to start at 7 - the doors opened only half an hour later. Another negative - if youre drinking, youre stuck in the smallish drinking zone to the side of the stage, and if you want to be in the front - you cannot drink. Unsure if that was just for this specific concert, but it was rather strange.

Always have a great time, the food is delicious and staff is very friendly and the owners do there best to make sure every show is enjoyable for all ages. Ive seen all types of shows some of my favorites were Mudvayne, 30 seconds to mars, Tommy Lee, Tesla, Tech n9ne, Allinaday I could go on and on but regardless I would recommend The Boardwalk to anyone who wants to have a good time at a low cost :)

Its a small and personal venue. The music quality and volume is perfect and it doesnt blow out your eardrums, unlike most small venues. I went to a metal concert here and had a blast. The only problem was security. They were absent the entire time and did little to stop the people who go out of control at metal concerts. People were smoking weed INSIDE the venue and security did nothing.

Very hot inside. This was their grand reopening. It also lacks seating for a overly large dance floor. Plastic tarp on the roof indicates not quite ready for grand reopening. The waitresses were prompt and respectful given the size of the crowd. Band was good. Just way too hot with no ventilation.

They dont pay their acts half the time. I mange artists and two of my very own artists have beenm left unpaid as well as many others I have spoke with. Plus the sound guy is a jerk and the only good thing is the security guards!

Great place for live music in an intimate setting but it will soon be a 21+ club which I think is terrible for all of the young Sacramento talent who will no longer to be able to grace their stage

Bring Earplugs Saw my friends metal band here a couple times. It was much more pleasant with foam ear plugs than without. The music was well over 100 dB according to my audio analyzer.

Love the Boardwalk but it could use better Ac and ventilation. When the bands playing use a smoke machine it all just sits in the room making it uncomfortable.

If you got booted for being an idiot, keep a stiff upper lip. Boardwalk is decent all the way round..many, many great shows from here. No brainier good value.
