LA live is what shouldve happened when someone saw an aerial view of Staples center and the LA convention center within close proximity. It definitely creates that entertainment center feel in downtown LA and was much needed for DTLA s revitalization. Love that there are restaurants but too many chains. But what can you do. Its like citywalk but with sports and comic conventions and the occasional corporate conventions that happen at the convention center and the JW Marriott. Wish there were just good food options. Tried the fast Lawrys place, the Japanese place and yard house.. Not too thrilled. Smash burger is a quick option. But overall a great open area to hang out before a game and watch sportscasters do their thing.

Theres plenty for everyone to do and see at LA Live! Movie theaters are a draw along with plenty of restaurants. Makes a great destination for a dinner and a movie type of outing. The Staples Center is also a prime destination for sporting and music events along with other performance venues in the complex. Good spots for happy hour before catching a show are Yard House and Toms Urban...these spots even offer late night happy hours on weeknights and Sunday (call ahead to confirm!). Dont forget theres also the Grammy Museum there as well for fans of music history. Whatever youre into, youre bound to find it at LA Live!

I was completely against LA Live when it went in. I thought it would be tacky, commercial, expensive, and bland. And you know what? I was right. But I end up going there all the time anyway. Its lively, downtown adjacent, with handy movie theatres (Regal), beer (Yard House), copious food venues, and reasonably easy parking and transit access. Its not really a destination for me, but its a great place to grab a beer, or a burger, or launch off to the rest of Downtown. Its brought a lot of life to central LA, and thats great.

If you can get over the horrible parking of Downtown LA, this complex has a great variety of restaurants and bars. You cant go wrong with eateries such as Yard House and Katsuya. And if you are looking for a bit of fun you can head to Lucky Strike and during the winter ice skating in the quad. The Staples Center also within this behemoth so they have sports and concerts covered as well. Its really a one stop shop but parking is a mess. Would highly recommend taking the metro rail.

I ended up taking my family here for a bit of light entertainment on a Sunday night in the form of Mixed Martial Arts over watered down beers and candy heeled strippers there to help in their sponsorship for the night. Id recommend it to anyone who is up for a chill little venue that lacks chairs and space on counters to lean on but doesnt care if they have to hog and crowd the space they get once got until done. Otherwise go to the staple center and be like the rest.

I guess ok. Just dont get the point. A sampling of average restaurants from fast casual to almost fine dining. A pub or two for the sports and convention crowds (love those expense accounts). But if not there for a game or event no reason to go. Too small to be a destination on its own and nothing close by to justify just stopping by Certainly not a replacement for a real arts district or downtown area just a southern California interpretation

Great development in downtown LA, with several Marriott hotels (from Ritz-Carlton and JW to Courtyard) as well as dining & entertainment venues leading up to the Staples Center. Now a tourist and event attraction for the city. Convenient place to stay if youre in town for the Rose Bowl or downtown conventions. I still prefer heading west or Hollywood if I want to be in with folks where youd really hang out in the city.

A very nice and fun area for entertainment dining and more. Keep in mind parking is not cheap and depending when you visit there might be a full parking garage. There are so many places to eat, drink, party, dance, see a concert or any other performance and even have a simple cup of coffee. During the holidays they decorate very nicely with lights, and seasonal decorations that make it very extincting and fun to see

Great place in the evening and during special events. Lots of restaurants and clubs offering food and drinks. However, the place seems almost abandoned in the daytime as there are very few people around. There is a 18-lane bowling alley and a 4DX movie theatre as well. I lived in JW Mariott which is a part of the square and so I could visit these places at night time too. It was great!

LA Live is a great place to go, grab some dinner, have some drinks, and enjoy the night! There are often special events taking place here, so you never know when you might stumble across a County of Los Angeles sponsored Art Show, or dancers and entertainers! Even if you dont eat or catch a movie or show at LA Live, there are plenty of destinations within walking distance.

Fun gathering place with a variety of activities. Whether it be a basketball game, or the end of a half-marathon, L.A. Live is always a hotbed of activity. During this Winter season, they have a tall Christmas Tree and Ice Skating rink. Didnt try it, but looks like fun! Lots of places to dine, but I personally prefer to go to other great restaurants in the Downtown area.

We went to the KCOM at LA Live last night. There was convenient parking under the venue off of Olympic that was only $5 for the first two hours. KCOM had food stalls set up by the Microsoft Theater. Great selection of Korean specialties at not bad prices. Cheaper than the 626 Night Market and not as crowded. Cash only but there is an ATM outside Microsoft Theater.

L.A. Live rocks! parking is a little pricey so be prepared to pay a chunk of change. tons of spots to get food and drinks at. this place is especially awesome during E3 and other conventions...instead of being stuck with nasty convention food. HINT: if youre a local of los angeles, TAKE THE TRAIN... super cheap and no worries about parking issues.

Awesome outdoor venue. They have many events here, and a huge ice skating rink in the winter. As others have mentioned, parking is very expensive ($30+) or very far away. If you can, take public transportation and save yourself the headache. It is a great vibe especially at night, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and a movie theater.

Good. This place offers a good variety of entertainment options as well as restaurants, bars and clubs. Seasonal decoration, ice ring, Christmas trees, etc. Make all a good evening experience. You can go to a concert or a Lakers game, and then for a walk or to eat out or clubbing, all in the same place. Good planning people.
