I LOVE WINE! My boyfriend and I took the San Diego Beer and Wine Tours chauffeured wine tour this last weekend and we absolutely loved it. Paul was our tour guide and he was awesome - he knew lots of interesting history about San Diego and each winery. He was very personable and fun. The other people on the tour with us were also very cool - we loved getting to know them and drinking with them! We went to three different wineries. The first winery was gorgeous! I loved the vineyard. They took us on a tour of the winery which was really informative and it was fun to see the huge stainless steel barrels. We ended up buying this wine that smells like bacon. It is surprisingly good and very unique. Next we went to this very unique winery that had an adorable little village. They had a bunch of cute shops. We could have spent all day there! My boyfriend and I bought homemade fudge, and these delicious chocolates. They also gave us a delicious plate of fruit and cheese. We ended up buying a bottle of their champagne. Its super affordable and really awesome. At the final winery we loved the owner. She was hilarious! She comes over to all the tables and tells jokes and makes you feel like youre the most important person there. Shes italian and everyone loves her (and her heavy pours!). We ate amazing breadsticks, salad and pizza. We sat on the patio overlooking the vineyard and got to watch the sunset and we were lucky to be able to watch some hot air balloons that were flying over the mountains. We loved the wine here - we wanted to buy them all, but we made ourselves pick a favorite. This place is divine! I think this is the best deal for a winery tour in San Diego. They pick you up and take you home, all of the tastings are included (we were feeling it after the first!) and you get tons of food. We loved it. We will definitely go back.

We booked our wine tour while visiting from Kansas City for January 1st. I was impressed right from the start. My conversations with the office during booking and the follow up and all communications were clear and precise. We were told our driver, Rob, would text us to confirm our pick up time at our place we were staying before 9:30 the day of the tour. He was actually a little early in contacting us which was good. He determined our schedule time of pick up was close to noon. He was right on time. We joined 4 others on this tour which was great for conversation and good times. Rob entertained us during the drive to and from the wineries with points of interest and history and a bit of comical intervention. Rob has a calming voice and instantly puts us at ease as he drives us through the busy traffic of San Diego County. When we arrived at the wineries, Rob gave us clear instructions on what to expect during each tour. We also we given time to be on our own to explore each site. We had appetizers at the first stop and dinner at the last stop. Everything was superb, including the weather. We had a great time and I recommend this to anyone, even if they are not big wine drinkers, which I am not. Thanks to Rob for making this a very enjoyable experience. Jim and Mary Ann Kansas City, MO

Great time from start to finish! I wanted to do a wine tour for my sisters bachelorette party, but I didnt want to trek all the way up to Tamecula in August. La Jolla Wine Tours offered a perfect in between I could tell from the first phone call! We were picked up promptly by Rob who was very accommodating and offered us a history of San Diego itself and of Southern California wine country. He made it interesting and was informative without dragging on. Our first stop offered wine pairing of certain cheeses, fruits and chocolates while teaching us about wine pairing with meals with plenty of gift shops and scenery. Our second stop was a family run isolated vineyard in the mountains with an intimate setting and beautiful farmhouse, which was so drastically different then the first commercialized vineyard it made you feel like youre part of the family. We were even taught about how the wine is made and were able to see the machines in action. Our final stop was on a mountain overlooking a valley that had me feeling like we were in Tuscany while eating fire roasted pizza. Couldnt have chosen a better tour! We got a taste of very different vineyards, a little history and a lot of fun! Thanks for making my sisters bachelorette such an unforgettable experience! Cant wait to try the train tour!

I took the Brewery Train Trolley yesterday with guide Anthony. I had a wonderful time and learned a lot about San Diegos craft brew scene. The beers were really interesting with some having mango juice in the brewing process and honey and vanilla. The cask beers were actually my favorite because you could really taste the flavours and the yeast. That surprised me because I always thought cask beer just meant a warm, flat beer, but its all about the flavour! There was a lot of beer on this tour, I wasnt even able to drink it all. The food pairings were really nice as well. I especially liked learning about contrasting and complimenting flavours. Anthony was a really knowledgeable tour guide and he took great care of us. I learned all kinds of new information on San Diego history and Craft Brew history. So interesting and such a relaxing green way to travel around downtown SD!

I have been on many food tours around the world and this one was among the best! Chris was amazing - knowledgable and passionate about the entire process from history to culture and of course, the food. It was abundant and delicious. The entire group enjoyed everything we sampled. This was a wonderful experience we will truly cherish.

I had the best time on the Winery Train tour. I am a SD local, and didnt even know that some of these places existed! I highly recommend this tour.

We did the chauffeured tour. Mike did a great job. Very friendly, kept us on schedule but still gave us the freedom to go explore. Awesome job.
