Beautiful place to hike and explore the outdoors. The trails around the lagoon are well paved and are surrounded by lots of brush and trees. A lot of the trails go around the actual lagoon and have beautiful viewpoints, resting points, and benches to look out onto the lagoon. The trails are dog friendly. This is a perfect place to bring your doggie, a significant other, your family, and/or friends. Its not really a hike since its on flat ground. But its scenic and relaxing. On a sunny day during the summer it can get pretty hot so bring water. Its actually really nice to walk during colder, overcast days. Its never packed or crowded, which is nice because it makes you feel like you own the place to yourself. The traffic noise is barely noticeable on most of the trails. There are some trails, however, that are adjacent to the streets and so you will have lots of cars passing by. The official entrance has a nice parking lot. Parking lot closes at 5pm or sun down. There is a building at the end of the parking lot that provides classes and educational workshops for kids and the community about the ecological reserve and ecology, biology, and zoology. The building also houses the Park Rangers, who are regularly on-duty during business operating hours.

Cool visitor center. The trails immediately around the center are nice, but its not a very long hike. To access the further out trails you have to walk along the road in some areas so be careful!

Beautiful short trip in Cardiff. Learn about the ZIKA proof lizards. Lots of birds and lizards. Close to the beach and 2 minutes off the 5. I only wish it was bigger.

Great 1 mile loop but with access to other trails, including Annies canyon. The visitor center is great for kids with tons of activities.
