One of san diegos best points of interest in my opinion. Very beautifully laid out, a phenomenal array of plants and animals for photography, educating yourself or just to take in. It also seems to offer a completely diffferent experience depending on the time of year that you visit so there is reason to visit frequently. I would be interested in taking a guided tour of the highlights flora. There are also some of the better street performers in this area which adds to the artistic element that surrounds balboa park.

This garden is nice and serene. I went with my two boys (a toddler and an infant) and had to stop and nurse the little one. I found a quiet spot close to a little water feature that was perfect. Outside of the building is a huge koi pond where, if youre lucky, you might see ducks feeding the fish. The garden not very big, but its beautiful and worth visiting if you are at Balboa Park.

Located in Balboa Park. This place is awesome! So many pretty flowers and plants to see. I loved it! My favorite was probably the orchids. There were so many! and they were all gorgeous! The outdoor koi and lily pond is beautiful too! Come during the Spring/Summer! Best part is its absolutely FREE. Parking was a breeze as well.

Awesome (and free!) exhibit with a wide range of flora from all over the world. Theres a particularly large collection of orchids, and an area where you can touch plants like peppermint and smell them. My favourite part was a sculpture of a Vietnamese landscape. Check this place out if you get the chance.

Nice, quiet place full of a variety of plants. The variety of orchids is lovely. It took me less than 30 min to walk around; I was expecting a more extensive garden. But it was free and delightful just the same. A good place to take a break if you have been strolling through the park and museums all day.

Great place to unwind. There are many species of plants. I highly recommend coming here on a cooler day. Personally I cannot spend more than 30 minutes here without losing interest but for those who enjoy sitting in pretty areas for long periods of time, this might be the place for you.

Came here with my gf during a Socal roadtrip. Put shortly, the botanical buildings small and boring, but at least its free. We walked around inside for 10 min before we headed on out. Decent photo op in front of the building. We found a turtle chilling by the lily pond.

Check whether the building is open before you come if you come to Balboa park for the Botanical building. Im definitely not a plant type of person, but this place did whoa me!!!! One more thing, even outside was super hot, inside of the building was chill!!

A great place to see, its in the center of the Balboa Park. Amazing flowers and plants inside, in front of the building there is a nice pond, with some nice fish. Its free, one more reason to worth the visit, we really enjoyed. Very well done San Diego!

This is a very nice garden with Ferns and exotic plants. The building is really cool but needs maintenance help because its made of wood for the shell. It is about a half an hour of entertainment unless you are a photographer.

We love plants and really enjoyed looking around. We only had 15 minutes and were able to see it before it closed for the day. The building is also really cool, kind feels like we are indoors even though it is actually open.

Its a botanically enriching experience. They have a vast collection of some rare species like pitcher plants and some very beautiful orchids. And not to forget the serene lily pond right in the front of this building

A great place to visit. Beautiful flowers and plants inside this old iron building. We really enjoyed our visit. There is a fantastic reflection pond just outside. Well done San Diego!!!!! Its free to visit.

I often visited this place as a kid but i never really walked and experienced the whole park. I was sad the botanical garden and museums werw closed when i went but it was nice to sight see and catch pokemon

Pretty cool free attraction. Definitely worth a visit if you are coming to San Diego for the first time because Balboa park is beautiful and there is a bunch of small museums and sights to see.

The building is airy, and definitely more beautiful from the inside than out. Theres a wealth of plants (including ones that you can touch). Free entrance if you can find parking.

A wonderful Arboretum full of local and exotic plants beautifully displayed. Free during normal Park hours. A great place to spend lunch War half an hour when you need to unwind.
