Ive been coming here since my wife and I got married in 2003 between hole #1 and #18 on the McKenzie side. Ive seen this place improve every year and now frequent it for my sons golfing tournaments and lessons. They have an EXCELLENT youth program that utilizes First Tee principals and decades of youth golf experience. If youre looking to get your son or daughter into golf, you must start here. The driving range is huge with half the stalls using an automatic loader. The range itself is mostly dirt, but a few fun targets. Its open late with plenty of lighting. Its not a pretentious place and is great for the beginning golfer. They have several practice greens and chipping areas and 3 rentable academy holes for the serious golfer looking for advanced practice. They have a miniature golf area that is in excellent shape for the little ones to practice. They have a custom fitting center that utilizes TrackMan, a very advanced video analysis system. It costs extra, even if you buy clubs, which is kind of a bummer. Their golf super shop is humongous and would rival any freestanding golf store. Prices are reasonable, but wish they had more sales or coupons or discount racks. 2 courses to choose from with a total of 36 holes. The Arcade Creek side is definitely the easier of the two, with an option for foot golf. The Alister McKenzie side is usually top notch and worthy of advanced golfers--but call ahead and ask about the shape of the course. It doesnt drain well and there are some interesting side effects. The restaurant and bar are updated with lots of seating and televisions playing sports. High quality food and reasonable prices. Starbucks coffee. Ive been to several weddings and catered events since my own wedding and it is always very nice. The outdoor Pavilion is surprisingly cool in the summer and a very nice venue that can achieve borderline fancy status. If this place was to be rated strictly as a golf course, Id probably only give it 3-3.5 stars because its just average and a tad pricey. But as a destination for all things golf, there is something for everyone here. The exceptional variety and customer service and plethora of experiences put this in the 4-4.5 star category.

This is one of my favorite courses to play. The course has been around for a long time and has a lot of mature trees although most of the holes have fairly wide fairways. There are a few challenging holes but its not an extremely difficult round of golf making it fun for all skill levels. The Allister MacKenzie side is the 18 hole course and they do have a front and back 9 on the other side. They have what I feel is the best Golf Super Shop and a driving range which is open everyday from 5:30 a.m. - 3:30 a.m.. A new miniature golf course has been added on the backside of the Super Shop.

Two courses on the property the Arcade side is basically an executive course, there is some challenge but not a lot of danger on any hole, this side can be slow on weekends do to volume and sharring the course with foot golfers. The old courses McKenzie is one of the best 18 holes in Sacramento, good length, plenty of challenge and greens with challenging reads, the bunkers sometimes hard pan in the summer but greens crew do a great job of keeping the course consistent year round.

They have a great range, plenty of stalls, auto loading tees and a decent putting/chipping green as well as a 9 hole mini-golf-lite course thats free if you buy a bucket of balls. Theres no sand traps to practice from or grass that you can hit off of so it wont meet every need. Lastly it can get a bit crowded but overall one of the nicer ranges in the area.

Wonderful staff, wide open fairways, good greens. The low handicaps might wanna try a more difficult course. Great course for a leisure round. They send out a couple marshalls, too keep slow-pokes moving -one of the few local courses that does that!

Beautiful course. Got the chance to play here with my dad while we were visiting his brother and had a great time. It was a good thing the we had an early tee-time because it did get blistering hot when we left in the afternoon.

This is a fun spot to hang out with friends. There is a ton of parking, plenty of golfing areas, and a couple outdoor games for those who are less talented at golf (like me).

These 5 stars are for the auto ball tee stations at the driving range. Golf course is good but I really enjoy going to the range during the summer night hours.

I love the option of the Alister and Arcade course. If I want to play a quick round I play 9 on arcade. For 18 I play Alister.
