Super-awesome and fast ride, but itll kick your butt if youre not ready for it. Although the ride is awesome and the views during the ride are great, the track is super-bouncy. You feel like youre being kicked in the butt every other second. Even so, this is one of the greats at the Disneyland Resort so youll have to try it. Fun Fact #1: Did you know that - back in the day - mountain climbers use to climb up this mountain and then rappel back down? Yep. Fun Fact #2: Did you know Walt Disney built this mountain to keep kids from turning it into a "lovers lane?" Yep. What used to be here was a simple mound of dirt that young couples would chill out (and make out) on. Walt didnt like that "look" to his park, so he built the Matterhorn on top of it! Fun Fact #3: Did you know that the old "Skyway" used to cable directly through this mountain? Yep. The Skyway was a popular attraction (one of the old entrances can be found near Dumbo) until kids wouldnt stay in their seats and someone jumped from it, trying to kill himself. One bad apple...

I first rode the Matterhorn back in 2010 and it was awesome for being such an old coaster. When we visited in 2012, it was closed for renovations and so when we got to ride it last week, I was super excited. My excited turned into disappointment quickly as the renovations were sparse and now the ride seems more clunky and jerky than it ever was before. The new features that I noticed all involved new scenes of the Yetti trying to attack you in your bobsled and a new animatronic Yetti that replaced the old one. I dont know if they did something to the tracks or not but it sure seemed like it was more fluid and swift last time versus this time. I wouldnt want to ride again soon because I dont want to be slammed around the bobsled like that any time soon. Matterhorn is in the park to stay and I will ride it again someday but probably only once per visit from now on. Have fun and thanks for reading.

A while ago they closed down Matterhorn to redo the track and change the cars. I dont like this ride now. Growing up this was my favorite ride, even if the seating arrangement was kinda creepy and gross, but the ride was so fun. The snow monsters were so scary that it wasnt until I was a teenager that I could ride it without keeping my eyes closed the whole time. But something changed and I dont like it anymore. The monsters are still plenty scary, but now it seems to run slower, and the track is less comfortable. Maybe Im weird, but I liked the creepy tandem seating, it was intimate and romantic! It also seems like the line moves slower now with the addition of the single rider option. Maybe its just me. Needless to say, this is a ride I usually skip unless Im really in the mood for it, or Ive forgotten how much I dont like it anymore.

Matterhorn has always been one of my last favorite rides at the Disneyland resort, as I always felt it offered very little payoff for the long wait. I recently decided to give it another shot, wanting to experience the newly refurbished ride, and I was pretty impressed. Gone is the old boring Yeti and in its place is a fully animated Yeti, fierce and rather intimidating, coupled with me sound effects and see through ice displaying the Yeti chasing you. All the new additions are great and really add to the enjoyment of the ride. Unfortunately the painful seats and bumpy ride still remain, turning youthful 20-somethings into weathered octogenarians by the end of the ride. Im happy to say that the ride won me over, and will certainly be an important addition to my trips to the Land.

Where do I start? We got to the Matterhorn just after opening on a Magic Morning, so we only had to wait for maybe 15 minutes. Im glad it was only that long, because I dont think Ill be riding again any time soon. To start, Im quite tall, so I was rather uncomfortable in the bobsled. Yes, I was startled by the yeti, but thats where my enjoyment ended. I was in the back seat, so my head felt like it was smashing around on the car. I got off the ride no more thrilled than when I got on AND I had a headache to boot. Disney need to update the actual ride cars before I ever set foot in that line again.

One of Walts original rides. This ride is thrilling and fun!!! A little scary at first but theres nothing to be afraid of but a Yeti and a few little drops and turns here and there! Theres a box that says W.E.D on it, but what does it stand for in the ride?, it stands for Walt Elias Disney!!! It used to be a two-seater ride but its not anymore but the seats are pretty close together in arm reach of each-other.You get a little splashed with water but its a very little drop and a very little splash when it happens, its great for any age, but you still have to be a certain hight.

I use to like this ride when I was younger much more than I do now. Not sure if it was because back then I felt more scare and felt as if the train would go faster or maybe something has changed on the ride. One thing I do know for sure is that the seating arrangements in the train has been changed, before you would have to sit in between the legs of the person behind you now each person has their own seat. The other thing is that there is ALWAYS a very long line! I dont believe this ride takes fast pass but I could be wrong.

Matterhorn is a fun ride! Its pretty fast though so hang on tight or have somebody ride with you. Ive heard of some people with sensitive backs having issues with this ride but Ive never experienced that. Dont bypass this ride, at least try it once! You can get a little wet but nothing uncomfortable. If youre worried about being whipped around too much, Ive heard a good trick is to sit in the very front on the car and have somebody sit in the seat with you. Happy riding!

Best ride on the PLANET. Two different tracks through a big 3-D ants-nest maze of CAVES...how can you not like that? Ive always found this ride fascinating and have gotten the most "mileage" out of it, so to speak, of all the Disneyland rides, even though there are others I ride more often. Permanecer sentados, por favor. :) (PS: Its going to be closed for refurbishment several times over the next year, including the entire first half of 2012, so get your rides in now!)

Its a fun ride, but when I went on it over the summer it was very rickety. Fun, but rattled like crazy, and I usually dont call rides rickety. It would be a lot better if they did a little bit of work to make it less rattly. Its really good in most ways though. The theming is really good. However, we only go on this once every visit because the line is so long without a fast pass we have now time for it. I hope they add a fast pass. If they do, itll be awesome.
