Franklin Park is small but great for preschool-elementary aged kids. There are two separate play structures, swings, small baseball field, tennis courts, basketball court and small sandbox area. On a sunny day in the middle of the week youll find lots of moms there with their kids and after school ARPD usually runs activities for the local kids. Most of the park has a good amount of shade and the picnic tables are completely in the shade on the backside of the park. Tip: Dont forget to shut the gate on the way in/out so the kids dont run out onto the street.

Nice park in a good neighborhood of a low crime city, surrounded by historic homes and across the street from a private school. The park has a lot for its size, including a swim center, picnic tables, many trees, a basketball court and playground.

This is my favorite park in Alameda. The Merry go round and swings are a lot of fun. There is a field for soccer, football and baseball. Roses in the spring. Can always find shade on hot days or sun on cold days.

Great neighborhood park to bring the kids to and everyone is friendly as opposed to clickish as at some parks. After awhile, you get to know the regulars and life is good.

Nice park plenty of shaded areas for a picnic. Plenty of activities areas for the kids. Easy to keep your eyes on your child from almost any of the seating areas.

Very nice park! Two sets of play structures, one for older kids and another for the younglings. Very tranquil, and a great opportunity to get outside.

Great park with space to play. Shaded grass, benches, picnic tables. Also has tennis courts. The merry go round is my sons favorite thing to do.

This park is toddler friendly and shaded, not to mention in a very pretty area of Alameda surrounded by great victorian houses.
