The fire trucks are very well maintained as well as the artifacts. The museum was enjoyable, however i felt like i wasnt given the same respect as everyone else there and that was disappointing to me. The people at the front desk didnt even say hello to us, or acknowledge us when we walked in, though they did look straight at us and we were the only ones in the front room. The guide just stared at us and when I smiled and said hello to him he just continued to stare at me. Once we showed them our Groupon, the guide then gave us the run down, which he did a good job at. When we were leaving there was a couple in the front room buying something for their child and the man was so friendly to them, and they were given the full, "have a nice day, and come again for our future event! Its gonna be great, there is gonna be a helicopter...." When we left we barely got a goodbye from them, and no mention whatsoever about future events, and again its not like thevolace was crowded. Im a religious minority, and its noticable by the way i dress. Perhaps they didnt like that. I dont know i didnt havefeel welcome here and definitely wont be back. Pretty sad, cause the museum itself is great. I just feel like all the patrons who are respecting the museum should be given all the same respect.

The Phoenix Hall of Flame is a wonderful museum showing the history of firefighting in the USA and France and several other countries. There are many old fire engines to see, including ones that were horse-drawn and a few that were only seen in parades. There is one old fire engine that kids can climb up into and they can put on old firefighting outfits and hats and pretend to their hearts content. There is also a role play area for young kids (ages 1 to maybe 6 or 7) where they can touch and handle everything. Kids cannot climb onto most of the fire engines on display but just looking at them is fascinating. We found the museum staff to be wonderfully welcoming. And there is a fun gift shop to visit on the way out. Easy to get to and no long lines to buck.

The largest, most comprehensive firefighting museum Ive ever seen. Allow at least 4 hrs to see and appreciate all the work that has gone into restoring and maintaining the apparatus. Amazing collection, exquisitely restored and presented with explanation placards. Huge Dept patch collection. $7 admission. Staffed by volunteers who will lend you a guide binder explaining the artifacts. Nice gift shop, the only place where a mini version of painted pony shown below can be bought new, 1 of 343. Worth the trip, located on East Van Buren at the SRP turnout. Lots of parking free.

This is a great place for adults to visit, you can spend hours reading and admiring the history of firefighters. My 2 year old was not amused as he could not rich 90% of what was on display. My 9 year old enjoyed herself but we both complained on how some exhibit areas were not as air conditioned as others. Dont expect excellent customer service front the front entrance people, they are older and offer no enthusiasm or appealing personality. Overall a good experience but would not return to visit this place.

for an adult. this is a great place to visit to see all sorts of fire trucks. for a kid? not so much. basically all pretty much behind ropes sort of stuff. no audio, interactive stuff. they do have a small kids area where kids can dress up and hop on one fire truck. but something like a simulator, or fireman challenge, movie? there are tons of ways this place could pick up a lot more business and make a much more interactive experience.

It was awesome, so many engines. My 4 year old grandson loved it. He loves fire engines. The childrens corner was a break for him as he said playtime! Which gave us a minute to catch our breath and not have to think of entertainment for him because he is after all 4. Price was reasonable when looking at Disney and other amusement activities for kids. I was quite impressed. I highly recommend this museum.

The actual museum and tour was exceptional and the kids had a really good time but the people out front were less than friendly and when brought to their attention, did not really care. Oh well, for what we paid, it was well worth the money and Id rather get a good bargain than overpay for great service. I would only recommend doing this with a tour otherwise it might be boring.

The building from the outside does not look like much but I assure you that you will not be disappointed. The entry fee was a bit steep but there are buildings upon buildings of fire trucks. I was impressed with their collection and enjoyed the 9-11 gallery. I got some great pictures. Stop and take a selfie with Smokey the Bear.

A very nice find. If youre a firefighter, or have kids that love firefighters, it is worth the price of admission. There are a huge assortment of motorized and non-motorized fire apparatus, protective clothing displays and well as tributes to wildland firefighters, EMS professionals and firefighters from around the world.

Terrific museum! Your kids (big and small) will enjoy all this museum has to offer! There are many, many fire vehicles from all eras. It is funny how you can drive past something so often and not realize how really cool it is on the inside. If you are looking for something different to do someday, try this place.

Me and my daughter had a great time looking at all the fire engines and learned why Dalmatians were fire dogs. I could not get over how beautiful some of fire engines were and left really appreciating our firefighters for all that they do and they sacrifices they make for people like me and my daughter.

Grumpy employees. The fire equipment was exceptional. Overall, the museum is dated and has an "amateurish" vibe to it. The place is not very kid friendly, and the layout was not done in the best manner. Its a real shame because with a little effort this could be an amazing place for all ages.

My 5 year old had a blast playing on the fire engine and running through the Safe House area, my husband was all about the Hot Shots display, and I enjoyed seeing the different models of fire engines and reading the very detailed historic write-ups about each one. Fun for the whole family. :)

My two year old loved seeing all the fire trucks and he was so excited to hop into the drivers seat of one. There is a play area for kids, but otherwise most of the displays are hands off. Great place to go to if your kid is obsessed with firetrucks like mine. Cheap admission too.

Great place for the kids. The little ones will enjoy climbing on and driving the old fire truck. There are a couple of other kid-friendly play areas. Great photo-ops for parents. Great for birthday parties. Kids can get a ride on a pumper and actually pump water from the truck.

The museum in itself its pretty awesome! Lots to learn but the staff were pretty rude. I was visiting from New York with my 10 year old son and he actually was intimidated by their unfriendly attitude. It will be a better place if they were at least more kid friendly.
