Hidden Pond is definitely hidden - its tucked away in a residential neighborhood, you wouldnt know to find it unless you were looking for it. Its like the other excellent Fairfax County parks - gorgeous scenery, well-marked hiking trails in the woods, and a fascinating nature center that has loads of special events and classes. It also has a traditional playground (unshaded) and a circular parking lot that can fill up quickly during busy times. They host birthday parties for $175, such a great alternative to the standard indoor parties. Come visit!

Weve visited many times and all the volunteers and staff and have been so personable to our children, taking out animals, explaining things, its a wonderful place. Our daughter is having her birthday party at Hidden Pond this weekend and even though it hasnt happened yet, I am so impressed with the staff and volunteers so far. They have been so accomodating about our needs and helped me plan this party so well that I cant wait to see how it all comes together. THANK YOU!

The park is very nice, the nature center is very good, and the pond is beautiful. Unfortunately, there is a high incidence of theft in the parking lot. Cars are frequently broken into and valuables taken. Neither the park nor the county seems interested in doing anything to deter the thefts. If you are within walking distance, its a great park. If you plan to drive, consider parking in the neighborhood and walking to the park.
