Amazing place and amazing tour! I loved every moment of it. The collection is broad and well looked after. Look out for witch marks (apotropaic marks) on the wooden panelling and salamanders on the beds to protect from fire! They have very fine examples of Stuart furniture, I loved the painted bed and armada chest! This house is well worth a visit! It was a taste of home! The gardens are also lovely! Thank you!

Tucked away in one of Richmonds upper scale neighborhoods, where the money is old and the blood is blue, youll find this 16th century Tudor house carefully moved, brick by brick and timber by timber from England in the 19th century, where it was rebuilt on bucolic grounds overlooking the James River. Tours are available, and check their schedule for the occasional Shakespeare play in their outdoor theater.

I come here every year for the Shakespeare festival. The grounds are very private and beautiful. The house is worth going into and tour. Ive done two tours there. One regular tour and one special one since i was with other art history students. They gave a longer and detailed tour just because we were all history fanatics. I love this place.

Quite disappointed. They market that the home was moved to Richmond from England, but only a couple of windows and rafters, everything else was built from here. The furnishings are not original or even from the same time period. There is one room that was kept, but the rest of the tour was a bit of a bore.

Really cool house but its really dark inside making it difficult to see very much. You are also not allowed to move around the rooms to see anything. Must stand still near the wall and hopefully see across the room. Glad i saw it once, but wont be back

Saw Shakespeare performed here for the first time this summer. What a unique venue! It was a great performance as well. Tip: Sit lower in the stands to avoid bugs attracted to the lighting.

If you enjoy touring historical homes you will enjoy a visit to Agecroft Hall. Lots of historical facts and artifacts from this houses 500 years of history. And the gardens are quite nice too!
