How do you practice skydiving? Well, practicing whilst plummeting to earth is the true "do or (literally) die" training, but if you want to perfect your skydiving form minus the 13,000 feet, iFly Loudoun is pretty freaking perfect for the job. And if you just want to feel like a skydiver without the sky part, this is also perfect. The building looks really odd from the outside since it almost completely lacks windows. But inside, its something out of a sci-fi original. You check in downstairs and walk upstairs to see a large tube of floating human(s) defying gravity superman style. They throw you into a quick "how to" class and then you meet your instructor. This is really for anyone and everyone. We walking in on a birthday party of 10 year olds flying. The dude in front of me in line was completely blind. Oh man - the first thing he said when he finished his flight was "Did I do it?! Did I fly??" H-lls to the yes you did man! He even went up about 35 feet in the tube for the "high flight" - more on that now. Things to Note / Know: - Buy more than a minute flight. You really need a bit longer to get the feel of whats happening. Try a minute and a half per flight. We did 2 flights at 2 minutes each (roughly) - Do the high flight. Its an extra 9.95 at the door, but its the funnest part. - You can buy return packages for cheaper if you buy them before you leave. Each flight you master earns you the ability to try another challenge like flipping and such. - They said to show up an hour early, but I think we got in there super quick. Plus you get to watch other people go, so theres no lack of entertainment. - Your friends can film you on their smart phones as long as their not in your flight group. - You have to take out all earrings / jewelry before flight and youll have to put your hair in a ponytail. Bring hair ties. - Spring for the closed helmets (vs open face). You can breathe so much easier and you dont look like a test pilot for NASA in your photos. Its an extra $10 after your flight. - You can decide to purchase photos / videos after your flight. I think that about covers it! Definitely a blast, and perfect practice for the real thing. We bought another 10 minutes of flight time. Really happy to have this just down the street.

Exciting while youre there, but feels like an assembly line and you are inundated by the volume of noise the entire time you are there, not just from the wind tunnel, but from the loud music they also pump in forcing everyone to yell for the two hours you are there. I took my father, whose experience was ruined by an unsecured helmet strap making his flights painful rather than fun and forming a huge welt on his neck. And my experience downgraded after trying to download videos turned into a nightmare. The website is a joke. I was unable to make reservations or download our videos online. Sure, while you are there it is exciting, but much of that is caused by your own fears of failing at something new while being videotaped and with dozens of strangers watching. You are there for two hours, but only get two, 60-second flights, so for $150 for two, I cant say it is worth it, especially when you factor in the potential for injury, embarrassment, or aggravation. And if you dont spend an additional fee per person for the "high fly", youll likely walk away even more disappointed. While I understand that our experience may not have been the norm, unless the company fixes its website and figures out a way to make the experience more personal, they are unlikely to net many return customers. If you have any doubts about doing this, then skip it. If you still want to give it a go, make sure your chin straps wont flap in the wind, dont expect the website to function properly, and know that you wont be in the tunnel long enough to apply anything you learn. (Keep your legs further apart for more stability.)

Staff is friendly and make this activity accessible and fun for everyone. Their passion for the sport/activity is contagious and part of the fun is listening and learning from them while also feeling safe to hop into a wind tunnel to be buffeted around in flight. I was part of a group outing with 2 one-minute flights: one standard flight and one high-flying flight where the instructor helped pull us into the heights of the tunnel. The facility is well organized and setup to be part flight experience, part viewing entertainment. If you are not flying, you are enjoying a view of others. Seating is ringed around the wind tunnel, which is glass enclosed, with an inner chamber entrance where those flying await their flight sit. After both flights in our group, the instructor, Dillon, performed an aerial display of mastery that was breathtaking and a tease of possibilities for those who would want to further their interest in the sport. After, our group was treated to a mini-Q/A session with one of the instructors with a mechanical/aerospace engineering background to facilitate discussion of the flights and facilities. Overall, a fun experience. At the end of our flight, we were offered the opportunity to both 1) purchase photos / film of the flights 2) purchase a discount package for return flights. p.s. Jacob needs to tie his shoes!

This place is bada$$$$ . Ive been contemplating skydiving for quite some time and this place just ensured that I will definitely do so. Apparently Skydive Orange is the place to go for that around this area. Not only are all the instructors totally rad and fun seasoned skydivers, but they all are clearly spending a massive amount of time working on tricks and stunts they can do in the wind tunnel of madness. That was almost the best part. Watching the instructors do their crazy stuff in the tunnel after we all got our turn was insane and made me want to learn immediately. Completely safe for young ones, you have to go. They have some deal where you can eventually learn to do tricks. It doesnt seem too excessively priced..for now. GOGOGO before they start charging more!

Wow, wow, wow! First off, this was so much fun and exciting! Took my wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law for my wifes birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted, helped with our reservations and that went smoothly. They were great at the front desk. Chris was our instructor and he was awesome. He took the time to explain everything, interacted with us before, during, and after the flight. He was an awesome instructor. Ryan helped when we did the fly high portion and he was great too! I cannot be more impressed with the customer interactions and they made us feel special. You want a great experience, head out there band cause it is well worth it! We will be back!

The wife & I went there. IT WAS AWESOME. I wish the time in the wind tunnel was longer but they try to give you the experience of a real sky dive. So each turn you purchase in the tunnel goes for 1min. You can purchase the option to go to the top of the tunnel. Its worth it. I wish it was closer to my home because I would attempt to get the training and start working up the different levels they have posted in there. The staff all have a sense of humor and just have fun. They are all smiles and take care of your needs in a timely manor. I would totally recommend this to anyone or family interested.
