This is a great park. It has sufficient activities to keep you occupied for the better part of the day. there is a wonderful playground for the younger children with a sand pit, a wooden boat, sprinklers, swings for both the babies and the older kids and lots and lots of climbing things. the older children also have a basket ball court and baseball. there is a pond in the park and lots of trails to walk / scoot / bike on and of course plenty of grass to picnic on. there are no barbecue stand and i am not sure if it is allowed. as an added bonus, there is a farmers market on Saturdays so you can get your lunch / breakfast there and enjoy the park for the day.

The last natural first in Manhattan. Had this wild vibe, even though its a city park. I walk my dog on there in the mornings and it straight up feels like the woods. Great views of the GW bridge and jersey to the west, the Bronx to the north and east, and the rest of Manhattan island to the south. Totally different vibe than the rest of the city. Had a dog run and a handful of baseball diamonds, handball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, and Baker athletic field is right there, they have a running track thats mostly open to the public. The view of spuyten duyvil Creek and the metro North station across it are beautiful at night.

Beautifully manicured lawns with plenty of trees for shade and a baseball diamond i always see children walking to. Good place to bring a blanket, a cold drink and a snack! There are a few grocery stores and delis on Broadway next to the gas starion if youd like to pick up a few things to eat. I frequently wonder if this park is owned by Columbia University since it is maintained so much better than other NYC parks. Lovely spot to relax, never crowded or noisy and a beautiful view of Spuyten Deyvil - where the Hudson and East River meet.

Nice park. The upper part is better maintained than Fort Tryon, the lower part. Police cars drive though which is annoying, isnt there bike or horse riding cops in this city? Bikes are not allowed but you always see them. Lots of stairs, to mess up you all with strollers. Signs to Cloisters are confusing and need work, same with stairs free path signs. Better to take a bus or card to the Cloisters if you have walking issues. Be forewarned the Cloisters have stairs too.

Great virgin forest, the last in New York City. Paved and unpaved trails with interesting attractions such as rock formations, views of Spuyten Dyvil Canal, a Revolutionary War fort, old campgrounds, bird song, with highway traffic noise in the far distance...its like being in an upstate park, a few blocks from the final A train station! Indian Hill Cafe is a great place to go afterwards. Really worth your while.

Next to Fort Tryon, Inwood Hill park is my favorite park in NYC. The miles and miles of trails weaving throughout the last remaining patch of forest in Manhattan makes Inwood Hill a great location to hike. One of my favorite routes is to head down to the end of Dykman and navigate from the baseball fields to the main part of the park. Its absolutely breathtaking in the fall! Definitely worth the trip up north!

Great place for the family and dogs! Trails upon trails. Easy to get lost back in there walking around! But isnt that half the fun especially when you are trying to escape the city for just a bit. Nice large and will maintained dog park. Sports fields and courts (baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball). Restrooms are at the entrance to the park where during the summer you will usually find ice cream trucks!

A great park if youre looking for playgrounds, basketball/tennis/handball court, baseball fields, a comfy dog park or just walking through. This park stretches from 200th st Dyckman to 218th st with many natural trails and beautiful scenery. Its typically kept clean and everybody who visits are mostly friendly. It has a really nice view of the Henry Hudson Bridge along with the coast of lower west Bronx.

I love this park. It has everything. Views of the "creek" and various outcroppings of water are visible from everywhere. Winding paths that wander up into the labyrinthine woods in the small hills overlooking the Hudson. Shakespeare in the park out on the peninsula. Open fields for kids to play. Numerous baseball and little league fields and one soccer/football field. A dog run. Even public bathrooms!

This park is quite nice and big. The western part of the park is like a hill, with trails, and could be a little creepy, with all the broken lights along the paths. Most people stay near the field and baseball courts. There are beautiful views and at some places you can see the Hudson river and NJ. Small wild rabbits can be seen that are very cute, but hard to spot on, and a lot of squirrels.

Hills and paths. The last remaining remnant of natural forest in the city. Wildlife, recreational fields for ball, kids, ect. Park animals all around, and right on the edge of the Harlem and Hudson rivers (except for the Henry Hudson Parkway cutting through). Also park activities from the Shad Fest to a walk to explore Narive American history. A worthwhile trip.

A quiet, beautiful and colourful park at the very north of Manhattan island. Its only problem is the time you have to spend in the subway to reach it. Apart of this the park is the most similar thing to a forest you can find in NYC. I went in Autumn and it was incredibly beautiful because of its red, brown and green colours.

Beautiful park. Lots of trails and designated areas for different uses. You cannot grill unless you are by the softball fields all the way by 218 st. They have a nature program with park rangers that kids enjoy. They have two playgrounds. It can get crowded during softball season.

Baseball, tennis, soccer, biking, hiking, canoeing in a real forest in Manhattan. Events such as movies, theater, and Drums Along the Hudson. Columbia Universitys Baker Sports Complex is adjacent. All an easy walk from 207th St A train station. Lose yourself in tranquility!

It is a VERY long ride in the subway and not for that much. If you are into urban parks, forget this one and visit the creeks of D.C. instead. Tons of littering and homeless takes away a little of the excitement, and for some strange reason there are almost no viewpoints.

I freaking love this park!! The hiking trails are awesome, some are really aggressive and other trails are more moderate and laid back. The park itself has tons of baseball fields and dog parks. Its definitely a great place to come for solid picnic.

This is a wonderful park and not crawling with tourists. It is very spacious and has plenty of fields as well as wooded hiking trails with some nifty geology. A must go to any resident looking to get away in the way central park just cannot provide.

My favorite park! Great for just about anything! Walks, hiking, picnics (no grilling), kids playgrounds and much more! Great pond with ducks and many benches above all a doggy park!!!! I take bike rides as well as many walks , the park is huge.
