Lovely State Park, a true hidden gem not yet discovered by the masses that the locals enjoy. The Hudson River Greenery Trail and Bike Route starts here. The Greenery Trail is also called Hook Mountain / Nyack Beach Bike Trail. We visited on the July 4 Independence Day holiday and the place was not even crowded at all. Well staffed personal provided assistant and parking directions. Parking is $6 as in most New York State Parks. Perfect for couples and families. The Greenery Trail / Nyack Beach runs right along the Hudson River. The trail is flat and easy to navigate even with a baby stroller. The trail is not truly paved with blacktop. So bring along comfortable sneakers. Restrooms are located at the parking area.

This wonderful park, which is actually adjacent to and part of Nyak Beach State Park, is located on the bank of the Hudson River and offers opportunities for picnicking, exercise walks/runs, hikes and sports. A wide cinder path runs along the river north, from the main parking and picnic area, with occasional picnic benches but limited shade. This path turns into a narrow trail and eventually meets a road that climbs west, where you can enter the Long Path trail and follow the top of the Palisades cliffs. Views from the top of the cliffs are spectacular. It is possible to do a loop back to the parking lot; refer to the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference website for further information.

While it takes a couple light years to get the fish to bite in the river, the bike/running trail along the Hudson makes for a great weekend/stressed-out-weekday spot to take a break and get some time off! Besides the views, a real plus is the opportunity to meet old timers (historians with enthralling stories of yesteryears in Rockland County)...

We live in North Jersey and drive to this park by Hudson valley. The view is beautiful and the walk on the trail by the river is really refreshing. There are a few spots where you can step into the river to feel the water. People also do fishing here. If you go up the cliff, there is spots for barbecue and picnic.

Well maintained water side trail. Its flat and easy for older people and children. Bicyclist are usually a polite about passing walkers by. Just provide enough space for other people to get around you and your group. Dont walk alongside each other taking up the whole trail.

Nice park with good trails and a nice view. You have to pay to get in during the summer and fall, while it is nice there are other parks that are better worth the money. But for something in walking distance it is worth it.

Weekdays seem to be the least crowded. Very peaceful place, polite community great place to stretch, relax, do some yoga. Perfect place to picnic, they even have bbq grills for you

Good hiking spot. You get a good view of the Tappan Zee bridge at the top. You can extend the hike by following the Long Path or go back using the trail by the water.
