Im a student who took a field trip to this park. I had lots and lots of fun here. I learned a lot here and enjoyed it all. However, Ive noticed that the tour guides are very strict, and even though the weather was extremely lot, my classmates and I needed to wear long pants. We needed to climb a fence with thick wooden poles as if we were getting into the fort. Almost nobody could climb it without having help from an adult. Tons of bees were there, and I did not like the food served. A sergeant and a corporal were chosen randomly, and they were treated with a free whistle and an extra musket ball. Also, half of my class ended up getting sick after this trip. And thats just my class. I did not like this field trip very much. Do not go on a field trip with your students here. Please.

We had one of the best times walking all around. However, I am writing this mostly to commend the two Rangers (one male, one female...Jenny?) from the museum who took such good care of us and made our day even more special. Rarely have I been treated this well by attendants in places that charge a fee and here we were sharing information and having great conversation with these two people for FREE. Thank you both!

My family and I were invited here for a BBQ, and its one of the most spectacular places to do so. The Hudson river and George Washington bridge are the the breathtaking views, and its a very quiet and family-friendly place. My advice: If you want to grab a good spot for BBQ, come early (7-8am). Also, bring cash since theres a small fee, per car, to come come in. I believe its $10.

I learned some important historical facts about American Revolutionary War by visiting this historic site. This place provides not only scenic views of the Hudson River and Manhattan but also an excellent visitor center where you can learn about the initial period of the revolution. Many thanks to Palisades Interstate Park Commision which well maintains this site.

For a small museum/visitor center they have done a good job with exhibits and artifact displays. Small gift shop features a good variety with fair prices. The artillery demo crew and range of cannons was impressive. I like how they got the kids and adults involved with pulling g ropes to move the large cannon. Amazing views of NYC from the Palisades.

I grew up in coytesville and i remember the opening of this park. As a teenager i rented a room in the old house across the street from the park.its probably not there anymore but i found a picture on-line. I always loved hanging around the palisades.i remember the tall ships JULY 4 1976 i moved to new mexico were the sun shines 300 days a year

Great place to spend an afternoon, amazing views, historic with a very modern background. (Manhattan) Educational, and is the trail head for some interesting looking hikes. If traveling south jersey would be careful to avoid GWB traffic as it is the last exit before the bridge.

Easy to get to. FREE! Nice 2-3 hour day trip for history buffs. Additionally, while walking on the trails near the museum we saw a falcon, a cardinal, several blue Jays and a family of deer. History and nature in one trip. My children enjoyed the excursion.

Beautiful views of upper Manhattan and the GW bridge and easy to get to/from Manhattan from here. More of a historical site than park as most activities, like biking and BBQing, that Id associate with a park are off limits, but its pretty none the less.

Nice park with great views of the city. Walking under the bridge is pretty cool as well. Also easy access to the pedestrian pathway over the bridge which is a wonderful walk. The parking price is a bit much though for a park of this size.

This place now requires a minimum of $5/3 hrs parking during the weekend. What can you do in this place for 3 hours. I inserted $1 dollar on their machine and tried to cancel and just gobbled up my money. This place now sucks.

Great park. I entered via Allison park road. Great quick view at top and then a mile to the steps going down. Be careful they are steep! Rewarding when you reach the bottom...but the walk back up is brutal.
