Growing up in Wisconsin Rapids, I remember all 3 of the downtown theaters: 1. Rapids Cinema (now apparently Rogers); 2. on the same road and same side of the street but on the W. side of the river, the Wisconsin Theater; 3. walk a little farther west to the stoplight, turn left, and immediately on your left was the 3rd movie theater (the Park? the Palace?). Even though the only TV screen at home was a 17" Westinghouse, the Rapids Theaters screen struck me as small, far too shrunken to justify its self-proclaimed "Cinemascope with Stereophonic Sound" identifier. The screen at the Wisconsin Theater was twice the size, yet somehow the little "overachieving" Rapids Theater managed to debut DeMilles "The 10 Commandments" and show the revival of "Gone With the Wind." The theater earned most of my business because of content and low prices. Admission was a quarter and popcorn came in 2 sizes: nickel and dime. Melted butter was 5 cents extra for either size. The movies ran the gamut--every Bowery Boys film ever made (I was a Huntz Hall groupie) as well as block-buster hits and Class B double-features (the reason I fell in love with Jane Powell). The Wisconsin Theater seemed like an eternal monument to the cinema with its spacious lobby and upscaled entrance. I recall seeing lifelong favorites there, like Josh Logans "Picnic" (Kim Novaks swivel-hipped descent into the arms of William Holden to the music of "Moonglow" remains unrivaled). Other films seemed to go on--and on (eg. "Martin Luther" and "A Man for All Seasons"). Others, like Cukors "A Star Is Born," were long then, but short now (tho Ive come to rank James Masons performance above Judys). I didnt see many movies at the 3rd theater (The Palace?), but I recall two Danny Kaye films (still a favorite) and a strangely eventful moment. The film was Otto Premingers "The Moon Is Blue," during which the lead actress uttered a word that produced audible gasps behind me. The word was "virgin." I didnt know the meaning of the word let alone the historic relevance of its utterance. Recently, I learned that it was one of the words that the Motion Picture Association (and Catholic Legion of Decency) had prominently listed as "forbidden"). Otto was the Trump of film directors.

Rogers Cinemas is a fun, friendly place to go and watch a movie. The candy is nice. There is no food like hot dogs, only nachos, which Im fine with because I dont like having at movies. Its not too big and not too small. There are two big theaters, theater 1 and theater 6. Theater 6 is where they play all of the big movies. Although theater 1 is new and nice, the seating is terrible. The seats are so high you cant see the movie and the seats sit straight up, so no leaning back. The other four theaters are small but nice. Our theater has 3D and 2D. A nice thing about Tuesdays is every 2D movie is only $5. So go and watch a movie.

Highly disappointed because they ran out of butter and accidentally walked in wrong theater and got kicked out. But the manager was nice about it. But during the movie I got a refill on my popcorn and girls working the counter started harassing me about an honest mistake of going in the wrong theater. On the way out they had no place to throw away the trash which led me on an excursion trying to find a garbage. Moreover, I was highly disappointed with the attitude of the workers (except the older manager) and the awkward movie set up. I do not recommend .

Need to have more movies for adults and more movies that are popular with adults. Seems we wait a long time for a just released movie to come to the theater, if it does at all. The seats in theater 1 are uncomfortable because they lean forward. I feel like I have to keep my feet planted in front of me to stay in the seat. Why would you put seats in that follow the angle of the floor instead of leveling them correctly? I mean this with all due respect, and find many other aspects of the theater just great.

For one the ticket counter was a man and the person that came to it was rude model of a smile to see you hi how are you doing nothing it was what do you want. Two when I got into the theater my seat was broken and ripped My pants. Went to go tell the guy up from who didnt care if we were there or not and guess what he didnt care that their seat was broken my pants got ribeye there see if it wasnt a movie my kid want to see I wouldve left!

Outdated and uncomfortable seats. The worst part is the employees coming in every 25 minutes to watch you watching the movie. Its very distracting and rude. Ive decided that the Wisconsin rapids movie theater is no longer getting my business or money. I make the trip to Stevens Point. They actually treat their customers like adults and with respect! For $9 I should be able to watch a movie in peace.

Its definitely an outdated theater. Seats are uncomfortable and smell bad. What really bugs me about this place is the "security guard" that walks in every 20-30 minutes. I was literally the only one in the theater and yet he came in and checked in on me 4 different times while I watched the movie. It was distracting and rude.

The seats dont smell. The theatre is an awesome experience! Fresh popcorn, 5 bucks any movie on Tuesday, nice people. I have been going for over 36 years. Never disappointed yet. I also have 2 grown sons. Never heard them complain to this day. Soon my granddaughter will be old enough to go! I cant wait!

The place is okay. Seats are terrible, they do not give enough butter on the popcorn even when you ask for it. Employees always walking in and out during the movie. They make it uncomfortable to be there.

Old fashion good manners, love the kids working, very neat and clean. The atmosphere is amazing, brings back so many memories. Very much worth the price of a ticket.

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. It has only gotten better and better. Great place to kick back and watch a movie. Clean and well kept!

Needs serious updating. They pay no taxes, overhead must be cheap....invest already...maybe youd get more customers instead of losing them to Point.

Its a great theater. I do wish once a week in the winter there could be afternoon movies. The winters are long.

A great location cinema with a lot of choice, a friendly welcome and state of the art projectors in 2D and 3D.
