I would not recommend Potawatomi Casino to anyone. Ive visited a number of other casinos within a 400 mile radius of Potawatomi and was able to conclude that Potawatomis slot machines pay out the least. (They have to pay for that newly constructed hotel somehow. It has been reported that the hotel and casino is infested with bed bugs!) In my opinion the table card games are rigged. Several of the black jack dealers that work there told me that they were speechless as to how the dealers there are able to get so many black jacks or 21s. They said that if its some kind of magic trick, they werent informed of how its pulled off. They admitted that when theyre playing on the other side of the table they dont experience such good hands. Although I dont recommend gambling your hard earned money, however, if you want to go to a casino and have some kind of expectation of coming out a winner I would recommend Horseshoe Casino in Hammond Indiana or Rivers in Chicago. I personally know several people that had their lives destroyed as a direct result of gambling at Potawatomi. I would urge people not to go down that road. Theres never a good ending. First comes bankruptcy followed by foreclosure, next divorce and homelessness. In the end, youll never come out a winner. Sure, the natives will let you win a few times until youre hooked and then theyll move in for the kill. One guy committed suicide in Potawatomis parking structure after losing 100k of his life savings. It wasnt reported in any new papers or on TV. This place should have never been allowed to exist. There are a number of robberies that can be directly linked to people that have lost their rent or grocery money at this casino. Theyve definitely exacted revenge on the white man and were able to take the blacks down with them. (Google "enemy of the black people Potawatomi") They advertise "Miracle on Canal street." The only miracle is witnessed by the Potawatomi natives that collect thousands of dollars of your hard earned cash each month. Ive been told that Potawatomi routinely bans patrons based on fabricated infractions. I would avoid Potawatomi like the plague. The horrific smoke that lingers in the structure is, in my opinion, enough to increase your risk of lung cancer. I feel sorry for the employees that are forced to endure the smoke filled atmosphere. Ive often heard Potawatomi referred as "The Devils Den." An appropriate title.

If I could give 0 stars I would.... My girlfriend and I went to Potawatomi to meet family and friends who were staying overnight. We were denied entry due to the security guard thinking he was the fashion police. I was wearing a polo, nice jeans and dress shoes. She was wearing a dress shirt and dress shorts with heels. The shorts were far below her finger tips when she put her hands to her sides. They were also not far above her knees. Her outfit was not inappropriate or revealing in any way. We were at other downtown bars and clubs and were let in without any hassles or issues. A nun would have said that her shorts were appropriate To make matter worse; when we were denied at the door I could see in the casino and I saw people with baggy clothing and pants below their butts. They also let in the lady in front of us wearing dirty tennis shoes and camouflage. The icing on the cake was when I called to speak to security and guest relations about this incident. The security supervisor told me that they deny women who they perceive to be dressed inappropriately because a group of men MIGHT be attracted to her and approach her, in turn I MIGHT become upset and this MIGHT cause a fight. This is the most ridiculous and far fetched explanation I have ever heard. That is like saying victims of rape are responsible because they were wearing revealing clothes. Instead of dealing with the issue of thugs coming into the casino and causing fights and other issues (most notably the recent gun incident,) they try to limit the dress code and end up targeting innocent women who are not the ones causing the issues. I suspect they are scared to target the people who are wearing the baggy and ghetto clothing for fear of being called racist, so now they have a double standard dress code and pick and choose who they let in with no real explanation or reasoning other than it is at the security guards "discretion." Finally I tried working my way up the chain of command and called Sam Guzman, the security director.... I was hoping someone is this type of position would have some integrity. He didnt even return my phone call. I will never go back. This place is a joke. Save your money.

We were really shocked when we decided to book Potawatomi for our wedding ceremony and reception. We are not big gamblers, but the venue was so pretty! It was fancy and had a high end look that we just loved. Meeting with the catering manager several times before the event seemed to have everything on track. The last month before the wedding, things started to go off track. The manager was late to our meetings, and then we were promised things that never happened. Ultimately I spoke with the catering manager, for about 5 seconds on the actual wedding day. We brought in our floral arrangements the day before the wedding and were told they would be put into a walk in fridge, this never happened. We reviewed several times, the way the prepaid bar items would be handled, the bar tenders were giving open bar to everyone, one of my bridesmaids had to correct them it was beer and wine. The Play Cards given to us by Potawatomi for wedding favors were never put out for the guests. During the time of the ceremony the reception space was not set up on the agreed upon mapping. Then at the end of the night, I was finally getting a late night snack, and was told they were out of tortilla chips for the nacho bar! The night manager then asked if my family could help pick up the space. I am sure none of my guests noticed these things, but it was still disappointing to see things fall through the cracks that last minute. My husband and I still try to justify that they are new in the hotel area for these functions and blah, blah.... but really we shouldnt be making excuses, as once its done, it was done. The cake was AMAZING! So pretty and tasted delicious, we choose 3 flavors. I also heard all the food was really good. The space was also really laid out well. It worked great, the outside patio got a lot of use and it was perfect to have everything in one spot. Our ceremony was on the same floor as the reception, so it worked really well.

Reading the reviews of all these people is hilarious. Its like how many degenerates can you get to complain about a casino in the last 9 months? Complaining about payouts on slots, that they never win, etc, etc. ITS A CASINO, they arent in the business of making you money. Slots are one of the worst casino games to play at any location, so I dont get why anybody is surprised they are losing. I understand the rate at which you are losing may be different from location to location, but come on, you should know what you are getting into. When I go up, I literally only play craps, because its one of the few casinos around that you can do that at, and its far better than the trash of Gary, Indiana. In the 6 times Ive been up there the last 5 years to play craps, Ive never walked out a loser, and just the last time I cashed out $1000 after buying in for $200. Its all about discipline and being smart. The staff has always been friendly to us, so no problems there in my personal opinion. The food is a bit overpriced, so it definitely pays to have some kind of voucher. The smoke definitely still lingers, so that is a downside to this casino for non-smokers. I also cant comment on the hotel or the bed bugs rumors as Ive never stayed at their hotel. The poker room is very nice and has a good variety of tables and limits. Basically if you just go in with the expectations of the limitations of a casino, you cant be disappointed like most of the lowlifes that posted are rambling about. Avoid the slots, stick to the table games, dont play like a moron, and youll come out reasonably happy.
