The first time I went to Plan B was a disaster and I havent been back since then. From the point I walked into the door I should have just turned around and went to my normal spot I always go. The bouncer at the door bothered one of my friends about having just his passport to show as identification (the passport is valid and was brand new) and proceeded to ask for a visa. I stepped in and told the bouncer that she cannot legally ask for a visa or to see any sort of papers, she eventually let us in after harassing us at the door that we must bring a United States form of identification. We bought ourselves a round of drinks, 2 brandy old fashioned sweets that cost us $12 I left a $2 tip due to slow service (Im a waitress and usually a great tipper). The second time after waiting forever again, we just decided that we wanted 1 brandy old fasioned sweet, I was unaware of the $10 minimum on credit cards and handed the bartender my card, he told me the drink was not enough to put on a card so I apologized and kindly asked him to make another. He charged my card $14, since he decided to overcharge me I decided to not tip him since his tip just went to his boss. A few days afterwards I look at my online statement and see a charge for $16.80, which was $2.80 over what I had wrote on the credit card slip, which also happens to be exactly 20% of $14. I called the owner and spoke with Corey expressed my frustration. He said he would get back to me, I ended up having to contact him again after waiting at least a week for a response, just for him to tell me that he couldnt find the slip and that I would have to bring in my bank statement. Im sorry, Im not doing such a thing, keep your $2.80 tip and I made sure to let my 400+ friends on facebook what happened. I will never be returning to Plan B ever again, it was my first and last time.

On the local news, I could definitely see this place being on the local evening news for something seriously bad happening and wind up losing their liquor license. Id also like to point out it is obvious the owners write their own reviews or friends do it and its way to obvious when you read all of the reviews. Anyway, I hated the place and a seedy crowd. Ive even had guys put their hands where they didnt belong with out my permission. I didnt feel safe, and I didnt feel like bouncers were there for any other reason other than to keep minors out. I saw them at the doors and thats about it. Its also rumored that there are thieves that hang out there, I definitely did not feel safe there at all. Bouncers should be there to watch and protect patrons, not just to watch the front and back door. Cops are always watching during closing time, and I get the feeling its not just for drunk drivers. In my opinion, its never good sign when its on a regular basis. I live in the neighborhood, so its something I observe regularly. I know of bars bigger than Plan B, no cops watching them at closing time. Message to owners: You better get your crap together. Its not looking too good. One visit isnt enough to get the feel of this place, after a few times, youll understand what people are talking about.

Would hesitate on coming back. Dunno if it was that night or something, but the DJ couldnt seem to play any song for more than a minute (half of which I spent trying to pick out from the generic intro/outro mix; there wasnt enough chorus to sing to anything) and most of it was hip-hop. I didnt feel comfortable dancing at all that night; my eyes kept going to the sketchy-looking people waiting by the sidelines texting on their phones or staring intently at the dance crowd. The not-very-dress-friendly draft in the section I was at didnt help. If this had been an alleyway (sometimes it felt like it), Id have wondered if some crime scene was about to unfold. The fog in addition to light show was nice, but the solid, unmoving light spokes were an eyesore--they made the ceiling seem that much lower and might as well have been physically prodding me in the eye (possibly a personal preference). When I go dancing at a nightclub/bar, I look for enthusiasm on the dance floor, a DJ who understands how to keep the energy up, and an atmosphere comfortable enough to dance in (even if youre not in a group). Guess I cant find that here.

Overall I had a good time while I was here the other night, but the customer service was awful. So much so that the price of a beer quite literally changed from my first order to the second. The bartender was not friendly, and served guests of a certain look/type before others. (I saw it many times in the 15 minutes it took for me to actually get served.) Also a $10 minimum credit card charge is a bit old school, and excessive. Not to mention the false advertising of saying their wont be a cover, and then charging $5 at the door saying, "oh that was only for the first 30 people". I contacted the place via Facebook message, and they read the message and ignored it. I tried to give them the opportunity to address these complaints with me directly, but they dont seem to want to do that. Its ok though. As I told them, their silence speaks so much more loudly than any reply that they sent ever could have and shows just how much they dont value their customers. I might come back here at some point, but only if dragged by friends.

Been having a good time here until last night. One of the bouncers always enjoys hassling patrons and giving them a hard time simply because he can, and last night he decided it was my groups turn. After hassling my friend about her real drivers license, he refused to allow her access to the club and confiscated her id. Again, this was her actual, legitimate license. After being threatened with arrest if we stayed and tried to get the id back, we managed to get the security manager to tell us to come back the next day when the club opened to retrieve the license. When we showed up today, security tried to make my friend drive to the bouncers house to retrieve her license, and threatened her with arrest if she called the police. We had to call the police ourselves to resolve the situation. Im staying away from now on, the club isnt worth the bouncers who actually enjoy harassing patrons. This kind of thing shouldnt be tolerated.

This place is full of crap! Ive been there and had bad service. I was going to attend their drag show which they posted on Facebook to win free entry if you comment on why they are Madisons favorite gay bay andshare the event. They gave it to someone who didnt even comment. When I asked they told me sorry for my confusion when they didnt even follow their own contest rules. Forget this trashy place with bad, bad, bad service! Its sad that a place we should feel welcomed at we get treated like crap. Im over plan B and I will be telling everyone about their confusion and rudeness. Ill keep my business with Five or Ill head to Milwaukee.
