We recently hosted a fundraiser at Central Cinema, and were blown away by how supportive and helpful the owners and staff were! Not only did they do all the work of securing the rights to the film we wanted to show, but they had brilliant ideas for ways we could make the event extra-special and raise a lot of money while we were at it. The staff were incredible during the event as well -- not only attentive to our guests, but they seemed truly interested in our work and several of them made personal donations to our cause as well! Plus, holy cow, the food is amazing! And I loved the specialty cocktail of the night as well (in fact, I loved it twice -- if I hadnt been in charge of all the public speaking of the night, I wouldve totally loved it a third time too). All in all, one of the best experiences weve had doing a fundraiser -- in was a cinch to put together with all the help from the Central Cinema crew, and it was a blast for everyone who came. If youre looking for a great venue for a party or event, LOOK NO FURTHER! And thank you, Central Cinema! Youre the best!

Id seen CHARADE many times before, but watching it in a crowded theater with an audience made me feel like I was watching it for the first time again. Its digital projection but you feel like youre watching a film at LAs New Beverly with vintage PSAs and classic trailers playing before the movie. The image was clear, and although theyre speakers might need to be replaced, the sound quality wasnt bad enough that I really noticed. The menu is limited, but start I had was better than I expected from a theater that serves for. Its really restaurant quality stuff and the service was fantastic. I cant wait to go back, and Im glad Seattle has a revival theater so I can see classic films in high quality the way the directors intended them to be seen. TIP: Arrive early as parking is on the street and you risk missing a booth if you arrive late and plan on having dinner. It also gives you time to order your meal before the lights dim and the menu is harder to see.

Okay, I have to say that I love the Central Cinema--I love the approach and I love the idea of a place that does this and yet stays inexpensive. The service is awesome and I love the art gallery, my only critique would be that the food is extremely uneven, there is a balsamic pork dish that the first time I had it was absolutely amazing and I absolutely looked forward to it the second time, but the second and third time it was just not as good--overcooked and over saturated with balsamic. The fourth time I got a hamburger and it just wasnt as good. Still, depending on the movie--this place is awesome, they just need to make sure that the cooking is as amazing as watching "Gone With Wind" or "Dr. Who" on the big screen. Cant wait til they have The Music Man--I will so be there! I took my brother to see the Fantastic Mr. Fox for his birthday and he and his girlfriend loved it as well!

Went here for the first time to see Amelie on Valentines Day...what fun! It was interesting to see other peoples reactions to the film. From what Ive seen CC has a great selection of movies... (Two of my top 5 faves: Amelie and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind showing within a week of each other...oh be still my lil cinephile heart! ^_^)...with a social-esque setting (you might make some like-minded film friends in the bathroom or during intermission...or both). Anyway, great cocktails and friendly staff. Didnt try the food yet as we ate at Stout earlier. That place was yummers. Ill try the food when I head back to watch ESOTSM. Hooray for Central Cinema ...like Netflix or a regular theatre with a neat social twist... sooo...Neatflix? Lol! Check it out! Smooches. X_x

Not your normal theater! Very clean, incredibly friendly staff, and above average foods and drinks. Everything has a fresh local Kind of flare and still simple enough for a movie. Vegan options, custom drinks that are film specific, wide assortment of snacks and entrees. Excellent place for a date night or dinner and movie all in one! Cheap ticket prices as well and food and drinks on par and below what id expect at a theater. Service was also awesome! Only little gripe is while I love the seating setup I wish I could recline, or have the option to move from only upright position. Cinnebarre while corporate and cheesy has ideal seating for dinner and movie. This place hands down way better overall and love the cool theme nights and old school movie offerings!

The food is amazing- All natural, huge vegan selection and free range meat for those who choose, wide selection of food, and beverages/ spirits. The staff is off the charts when it comes to personality and personal attention! Visiting Seattle I stumbled across the Central Cinema wanting to spend one of the last nights doing something memorable. DATE NIGHT--not your ordinary dinner and a movie , THIS IS THE ULTIMATE! From the time we arrived to the moment we left it was a night to remember. Clean establishment friendly atmosphere I cant wait to return to Seattle to experience it again. reasonable pricing, healthy and comfortable! Thanks for a great night!!!

Cool place. I went once and will probably go back, but I do have one complaint: the staff allowed a couple to bring their noisy baby into the movie! Its bad enough when that happens in a regular movie theater, but it seems absurd that a baby is allowed into the bar-like atmosphere of this particular theater. I thought this was an adult establishment, 21 and older only, except if youre a baby I guess. To what lengths must one go in order to enjoy a grown-up night out without being annoyed by the decisions of irresponsible parents?? The parents were rude and stupid to bring their baby, and the staff should have put the kibosh on this right at the door.

Really wanted to like this place so I have given them way too many chances. But either the owners are absolutely clueless about basic customer service or they just dont care since they are the only game in town if you want dinner with a movie. Be warned - dont come hungry. Minimum wait for food is 1.25 hours after you have placed your order and the 1.25 hours does not take into account the 45 minutes you waited for initial service. Too bad.

in the cold almost an hour past listed showtime with a will call ticket and no idea or word of when youll actually be let inside....for a warm beer over an hour past actual showtime...for the check which charges you full price even though the server forgot your order and everyone else around you is already done with their food and beer....for an apology that never comes. Go to Central Cinema! They know how to treat their customers!!

I love this place. Its part nostalgia, part adult indulgence and part childlike whimsy. Where else can you go and watch ET or Never Ending Story while having a beer and maybe enjoying some food? They have happy hour deals along with happy hour themed days. I love their cartoon segments. Special sin-along days are just pure fun as well. If you havent yet been, try it for the pure joy of reliving some of those days gone by.
