The lady at the front desk immediately misled us about the prices, whether it was intentional or not. The quote we received was not what they intended to charge us. Originally we were told that we were going to be on a lane that, to our surprise, was already in use by other customers. When we arrived, we asked where to purchase beer and were told that a server would be by the lane. After an hour of issues, the server never came. Once we got on the lane we were actually going to be playing on the game was not recording turns or points, and the screen displayed a "press help button" prompt. After pushing the help button, the same receptionist came and scolded us for the "children" pressing the help button. Finally, the game was underway. However, less than 2 frames later, the alley has stopped returning the balls. The lane was shut down without transferring us to another lane until we addres sed the receptionist. Upon addressing the receptionist, I asked to see a manager due to all the complications we had encountered so far, and I was blatantly lied to claiming that she was the manager. We were transferred to another lane and the lane did not have the bumpers that we had requested, and was not functioning correctly. The single saving grace for this place was that the REAL manager finally came out to speak with us when we requested a refund and gave us coupons for the chain of bowling alleys. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

I hadnt been bowling in years and was so excited to go and have a good time with my family. The woman working at the front desk area was very rude and gave us an attitude when we pressed help for our defective bowling lane, moved us to another defective lane without the bumpers we requested (we had a 5 and 7 year old with us). She misquoted the pricing for our group of 7 (which wasnt a huge deal) but then also was demeaning when we were confused about it. Then claimed to be the manager when we requested to see one. We found out later that there was another, much more helpful and friendly guy who was the real manager and apologized for our poor experience. Ive worked in customer service for most of my life, and the woman working at the front desk Saturday the 29th at about 9-10pm was the worst customer service representative Ive ever interacted with. Even with the buy one get one free coupon given to us, I would not return to this location.

CAUTION: if youre planning to take the whole family bowling, Annandale Lanes allows smoking inside the bowling alley. I took the family, including three young kids, there on an uncrowded Saturday morning, but was surprised when the bowlers at a neighboring lane lit up cigarettes, right next to my kids. Games are $5.25 each, which is a little on the high side. We had a few problems with our lanes, including balls not returned, pins not reset, and throws not recorded. The scoring system electronics are low-tech, circa 1980 or so, not the modern graphics with animated strikes and spares that would normally keep the kids amused. The staff were very friendly, both check-in and check-out, as well as responding to our requests for help when balls werent returned. It was pleasant enough, but the smoking indoors is a deal-breaker. If they ever ban smoking at Annandale Lanes, Ill feel more comfortable about returning with the family.

The fact this place has 1 star kind of blows my mind! Apparently there is a new rule/law enacted in VA that was only released to the AMF Annandale that requires you to have a horizontal ID to be served alcoholic beverages. Now, Ive googled the crap out of this and was unable to find anything on the subject. I understand Google isnt the ABC and if Im wrong I will gladly bump them up to 2 stars. After being refused service I was asked if I had a passport... Good thing I keep a spare passport in my bowling bag for my international bowling trips... I decided I was already here to bowl so I did and had several malfunctions, a little warm but still had a decent time. This is just a warning for those who havent gotten (needed to get) a horizontal ID that you wont be served here.

First of all service is the worst, its slow and they treat you in a poor manner. Second, the AC does not work at all and they have to be cheap and use 2 fans for the whole place. And after all these we think it cant get worse but it does since they wanna take more money from you, prices were reasonable before and unlimited bowling was main reason to always go back to this location, but since they decided that everyone wasnt paying enough they just dont tell how much it is now, but they will lie to you telling you one price but will charge different at the moment of leaving!!.. I dont recommend coming at this place since all theyll do is lie and give you the worst service! Place sucks!!

Last time I bowled here, we had something jam on nearly every other frame. The ball wouldnt return, the gaurd thing would stay stuck down, the pins wouldnt clear properly, and on and on. It took us probably 3 times longer to bowl a game than it should have. We originally payed in advance to play 3 games, but it took so ridiculously long to get through the first 2, that we decided not to play the third one....but they wouldnt give us our money back!! Even after we complained about all the problems! Its no wonder the Bowl America on Edsall Rd. was full and Annandale Lanes were nearly empty...

Bowled league during summer league and a tournament over the past year. Found the staff was excellent and house maintained quite well. Snack bar and bar are excellent, offering well made drinks and foods normally not expected with each being done very well. Table service is a nice change, enabling to stick with game being rolled. Lanes are a good with shot changes for league and tournament play. It is a decent place to go to hang out and watch or bowl. As with any house nowadays, call to find out scheduling of league play and specials before arriving to throw a few.

Was told 20 min wait. Its been an hour and half now and still no lane. Now mind you plenty of lanes are open but they are having "computer problems". We offered to keep our own scores and they said it would work but they "just cant do it because we cant do it". Now we asked for some kind of credit and the clerk was very rude. We now have less than the two hours we paid for. Horrible customer service.

If you are a teenager and you want to go bowling then this is definitely NOT the place. the workers just hate kids for some reason. Me and my friends got kicked out within 30 min cause we were trying to move this stuck bawling ball from the way. And that was it. And yet they say its "unlimited bawling" till closing. Its a lie, If you a teenager just cross out this one off the list.

Worst place ever. They do not want to use the AC so they open the door and use a lot of fans. The service is slow and sometimes they forget about your order. The place is so dirty, even the balls are so dirty that they will leave your hands dirty. They do not make sense with the price. Close pay attention because they will try to confuse you and to make you pay more money.
