PROS: > Has achohol, > Resonablely good food...more or less > Um... Biker friendly, if thats your thing. CONS: > NOISY! BIKERS park underneath and the whole place echos and amplifies the racket until they leave > nickel and dime you for drinks, take-out and probably anything else they think they can get away with. > small menu selection > No seafood > misleading name of business Better Alternatives: Would recommend [Pirates Alley Cafe] for anyone looking for the family-friendly restaurant on the beach Sharkies looks like at a glance, and Red Snapper Inn for anyone looking for something a little higher priced, and more formal-ish Didnt believe the negative reviews, seemed unlikely any reasonable business owner wanting to be even moderately successful would never allow rampant racism, no idea if that is a factor or not, but I can believe it at this point. Bikers like to park underneath and rev/ warm-up the bikes before taking off, leaving the area noisy for a minute untill they leave. Might take longer if a bit group or they get stuck at the light. While the official title of the place is: [Sharkies On The Beach: Bar and Grill] the menu is limited as this is really just a bar with extra seating. Despite being called Sharkies, the closest thing it has to having seafood is the jalapeño alligator bites in the appetizer menu, which consists of about 7 items and makes up roughly 40% of the available menu. Fries are nice though, and what food they do have doesnt seem to be terrible.

Wow, what a disappointment! We had been fishing all day on the boat and just wanted some good food and to wind down a bit. It took 10-15 minutes before we were given a menu; we werent even greeted. Definitely not a good place to bring your family because they smoke inside. We sat out and discovered most beers and food were no longer available. They ran out of: shrimp, wings, mac n cheese, Angry Orchid, Blue Moon, Dos Equis and more! What kind of restaurant is this? Smh. Should have stocked up for Labor Day! The service was not great either. After she brought us our food she never once came to refill our watered down, not very carbonated sodas (and they didnt even have sweet tea). The water tasted horrible btw. Better off drinking a water fountain from a park. Once we got the bill, we understood why the service was so crappy--gratuity was already added because we had 3 adults and 2 children. Not to mention the place and didnt even have paper towels in the restroom. Would I visit again? Definitely not! And I wouldnt recommend it to any one either!

NOT a family friendly experience! My family visited this establishment at 2pm on a Friday afternoon and while our waitress was sweet and very attentive, my 2 and 4 year old children were exposed to very loud and vulgar music the entire time! Beyond vulgar at that! even after politely asking for them to please ATLEAST turn the music down. There was also an employee/manager/owner sitting outside who continuously used foul langauge in front of our children and who also made us feel very very unwelcome by complaining loudly about "being asked to turn the music down!" I couldnt believe it! We are locals and we will never visit this place again! With or without our kids! I read a review for this bar and grill that claimed this place was a family friendly establishment prior to taking my family but I assure you that it is NOT!

Worst experience Ive ever had with a bartender. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was awful so I asked the server to trade me out for a beer. A few minutes later, the bartender came out and was very sarcastic and demanded an explanation with what was wrong with his drink. I told him I didnt mean to offend him and he just kept pushing because he had never had one come back. I finally said it tasted like watered down tomato juice. Then the heat was on. He said that it should because it was tomato juice with salt and pepper. Then muttered something as he was walking away. Guess small town boy had a big ego and no experience of what goes into a bloody mary. January 29th, 2016 about 3:30 pm.

The first night was great no problems. Awesome burgers. We visited this establishment for a second time while still in town, and experienced racism. We were shown favoritism and felt very unwelcome. We were approached by locals who stated they had been coming here for years and the pool table we were on was theres. This is after asking a gentleman who played on it could we play. Im assuming the lady who came out was the manager who never identify herself ask what happen but eventually went to the locals and had an extended conversation with them and soon left. Nothing was rectified and we left because we felted very uncomfortable.

Even though my experience was not great I will go back and recommend that anyone who is in the area or visiting the adjacent Surfside Beach stop in. I ordered alligator meat and it was soft instead of firm. My margarita was definitely the worst that I have ever had. The French fries were good. The service was just okay. On the good side Sharkies has that perfect location and I really liked the waitresses, even though their service wasnt great. I think Sharkies on the Beach is one of those places that you instantly like. Ill go back, but Ill ask for salt with my margarita.

Worst experience ever! Every other restaurant around the area was closed. Friends and I were craving a nice juicy burger and decided to check out Sharkies. As we walk in, we felt unwelcomed right away. The girls and I were getting googely stares from the locals. Bar was full with smoke, so we decided to eat outside. Server recommend a hickey smoke bacon burger, jalapeño burger (had no jalapeños ) and a alligator platter. All choices were awful. Wasnt cooked right! Stomach ache right after. Not family friendly nor for college students. Dont waste your money!

Monday noon. 2 couples, ordered 3 burgers and chips, 5 beers, we asked to split tab in half and change on 2 cards, thats where things got really ugly. The split the check, unfortunately is wasnt our check, they charged our meal to the other table. This is the most missed up .... She ran the credit 6 Times and charged our card at least 3 times. I dont get it. Im not even going to mention the fact that it took 50 minutes to get the burgers to the table. Dont go

Make sure you watch your food the cook whom also claims to be a proud manager might possibly just rub himself down with a paper towel then proceed to grab someones food. Then your survey could chase you out of the bar tempting to jump the railing like you robbed a bank thinking you owe them after you leave more then enough money at the table... maybe if she wasnt flirting with the cook she may have came to us when we asked to speak to her to pay the tab.

I lived in Lake Jackson, [and now visit] this was/is our family "go-to" restaurant for the some of the best seafood in the area. Sitting on the deck, eating, enjoying a margarita, sights and sounds of the ocean, and the surfside sunsets! If you cant get to the Caribbean, this will suffice! The entire staff is friendly, and attentive. Great food, good service, spectacular views. what more could you want?! SHARKIES is STELLAR! ☆☆☆☆☆
