"Where should we go tonight?" "I dont know. You decide." "You decide." My wife and I always have this predicament. We never know exactly what we want or where to go. A few months ago, we decided to venture out and try something new. After reviewing multiple websites and tons of reviews, we came across the Vineyards Restaurant. Best occasion, best steak, best seafood appetizer....what is this place? Located by the natural bridge caverns, I knew that it would make for a fun and interesting drive. We made reservations for the evening and got dressed. On our way to the restaurant we called to make sure we were going the right way and Jason was glad to help. Upon arrival, the stunning view of the restaurant and the refreshing sounds of nature had us thinking we made the right choice. We walked in, we were promptly greeted and guided into the patio dining area where the view was literally breath-taking. Steven introduced himself and told us about the Ahi tuna special that wasnt on the menu. My wife gave me that look like, "Im getting that!" I read through the menu and saw the filet, thats what Im getting! We started out with the crab-stuffed mushrooms and believe me, those alone were worth the drive! She got her chardonnay and I got my cab, of course. After devouring the mushrooms, we both got a caesar salad with a dressing unlike any other Ive ever had. The entrees came out with perfect timing and steaming hot. Tender vegetables, succulent steak, (cooked to a perfect medium,) rich and creamy mashed potatoes, and that was just my plate!! My wifes plate was phenomenal as well! Pan seared, sesame crusted, ahi tuna with that sauce, that cilantro cream sauce, wow....the jasmine rice and the seaweed salad added that extra pizzaz. So of course, we shared our plates, got 2 new glasses of wine and watched the sun set on, what was to be, one of the most memorable dining experiences weve ever had. To top it all off, two words, creme brulee. Enough said. Coupled by a professional and courteous waitstaff, this place truly struct a cord with us. We now visit the Vineyards Restaurant at least twice a month, if not for the crab-stuffed mushrooms, the pan seared ahi tuna, or the so-tender-you-dont-need-a-knife filet, then just for the view. Since we have been there, we never have that problem of where to go or what to eat, the answer is the Vineyards and its the right answer every time. THANKS BILL!!

My wife and I went there for New Years Eve hopeful of a special evening. It was far from it. They promised a band. What we got was three guys holding band practice as they struggled to make it through half of the songs. They promised fireworks. What we got was a guy pulling a wagon with two of those $99 box packages you can get at any fireworks stand. I do have to give them high marks for food as they served the best lobster bisque Ive ever had in my life. However, that was balanced by the WORST and SLOWEST service Ive ever experienced. A 20% gratuity was part of the package, and boy could you tell. To say that our waiter mailed it in would be overly generous. At one point I rose to go refill my ice tea myself when another member of the wait staff noticed and filled it for me. Our waiter watched the whole scene from the other room with his arms folded. We went to the dessert bar outside and my wife ordered the Bananas Foster. The cook handed it to her in a bowl and said, "Sorry, no spoons." Tell me, how do you eat Bananas Foster without a spoon? By the time someone tracked one down, it was too late. It was one big melted soup of grossness. I see on their website theyre advertising a Valentines Day event. I would highly recommend you look somewhere else if you want the night to be special, as the number one thing I took away from New Years Eve was that The Vineyards in Garden Ridge doesnt do "special."

I went to The Vineyards on 05/12/12 the day before mothers day, this was going to be a special dinner for my mother. First off it a beautiful place, love the location. Everything went fine at first... we ordered Salmon Carpacci which was great! We then had some bread which was good (the Olive Oil was awful, way to salty) But after awhile the waiter seemed to disappear. Okay so I ordered a Prime Rib for dinner and I ordered it Medium Rare, same as my mother and a few friends, well it took bloody forever for the food to get to us, so when we finally got the main course we started eating and we all noticed our steaks were not Medium Rare, but very Well DONE! which that is fine cooking 101 "how to fix a proper steak"... which they failed to do. We told the waiter about it and he said "I can take it back to the kitchen and recook it?" (with a I dont care attitude) and we said "NO its cooked enough" and he backed up and said "Okay" and just walked off. Not even getting an a apology. The bill turned out to be little over $200, and it was nothing near worth it! The waiter was crap, the Cook is mediocre... but hey at least the Salmon Carpacci was good, but not $200 good. I say avoid this place, there are much better places around the San Antonio area, where the staff will be helpful and friendly, and the food will be cooked by real professionals. This place does not have ether of the two.

This is not a Restaurant to go to as a couple. This was our 10th Anniversary and we were constantly overlooked for larger tables. We were half way through our bottle of wine when the cooler appeared. The Caesar salads were wilted. I didnt get a sharp knife for my Rack Of Lamb. When It did arrive , my meat was cold. The Mushroom Risotto was so salty it was inedible. We asked for cheese with our Port and got a plate of ---- shredded cheese. Were we supposed to sprinkle it in our Port? The coffee came in a mug with the spoon still in it. By this time dessert was out of the question. We were sick and tired of having to work so hard. Our waiter didnt seem to know or care how to handle negative comments. But, the worst. I wrote a letter to the Restaurant, explaining our displeasure. It was returned with our address label torn off and attached to a brown envelope. Our letter had a C + scribbled in red on the top with a surly face drawn on it. I suppose I should not be surprised at this apathy. Where is the professionalism? Obviously customer service is not an issue. We will never be back. I am sending this review to every place I can.

We could not have imagined a better place to have our intimate destination wedding! Beth and the staff were so awesome. They worked with us to make our special day absolutely perfect. The chef even helped me with creating my idea in having a brunch, we came up with a waffle bar and the food turned out absolutely delicious. I still dream about eating it again. We also had our flower arrangements prepared through their vendors and they were beautiful. The venue itself is so gorgeous, and for a mid March morning wedding the weather was fantastic. I cannot rave about this wedding venue enough! Having my wedding there was like an absolute fairytale. The staff was so great about making sure we had everything we needed and that nothing was left out. It definitely took the stress out of it, making our special day even more special. All of our guests continue to tell us that this was the best wedding that they have ever been to! I definitely recommend them!
