We stayed in room 706, the most expensive room on the property located in the Treehouse section, from 8/7/2016 to 8/9/2016. Here were the problems: Maintenance Issues: 1. The door to one of the guest bedrooms required pushing as hard as you could to open due to the floor being warped so much that it scraped hard against the bottom of the door. We called and maintenance came out shortly and screwed in screws to try and flatten the floor but it did not make any difference. 2. A similar problem with the door going into the master bath that was scraping on the tile, although it was not as hard to open. 3. The wood floor between the two guest rooms was warped so badly it was a hazard. If barefooted, one could have easily busted open their foot while walking. When they came and addressed the floor in #1 they put tape over it. 4. The master bedroom smoke alarm battery died at 3:00 am the evening of 8/7. The maintenance man arrived at 4:45 he did not bring a high enough latter to replace the battery. At 10:00 am it got replaced. 5. The fans in all three bedrooms are controlled by a single wireless controller. Therefore, any time someone wanted to adjust their fan or turn a light on or off, it messed with the other fans. One of the rooms fans would not come on unless the light was on and would only blow the hot air down as it was still set for winter operation. Maintenance came to fix it but could not switch the direction of the fan and took the bulbs out and brought us two box fans to keep the room cool. 6. The next night the master bedroom fan had the same problem of the light being on and the fan turning but you could not have the fan on and the light off so we slept with no fan. 7. The shower head in the guest bath shot two hard streams of water and could not be adjusted to give a uniform spray. 8. The ceiling in the living room was so warped due to what appeared to be water damage, that the boards were at a severe angle to the ceiling. We were even concerned they may fall on us. 9. One of the drawers in the dressing chest in one of the guest bedrooms had a broken rail so the drawer fell out and could not be used. We just took it out and set it on the floor next to the chest. 10. The pedestal sink in the master bath was not attached so it moved when you leaned on it. Design issues: 1. There was not enough furniture in the living area to accommodate our group of eight, even though the maximum stated room capacity was for even more guests. 2. While the coffee table and dining table were interesting wood pieces, they were extremely non-functional. They both had large areas where if something was put on it that could roll or slide, it would fall off the table because it was not even. There were only three chairs for the dining table, although admittedly it was not functional enough to support any more than that. Dont waste your money on the "luxury" treehouse suites - at least not room 706.

We are a small family of three with petite 2 yr old. We visited schlitterbahn towards the end of the season so only the east side of the park was open this particular day. Because of our young daughter we were limited on the amount of rides we were comfortable riding together so we were subjected to riding in tubes in the different "rivers" and of course the kiddie areas located throughout the park, which we pretty much expected. We overall had a great time . Schlitterbaun allows you to pack a picnic cooler filled with all your edible concoctions as long as arent alcoholic or in glass containers which was great for us. They even refunded a portion our our ticket admissions because we pre purchased "any day" full price tickets and ended up visiting on a "Schlitterbaun LITE" day. The life guards monitor the kiddie areas very closely and the water is a few degrees warmer in these areas. Also they have enclosed kiddie tubes with bottoms for the tube rides and free parking. But schlitterbaun does makes you feel like you need to take out a second mortgage to buy anything inside the park. You will probably end up purchasing something eventually even if its only a locker which will cost you at least $12-15 bucks. The cement paths get scorching hot without water shoes and the tables in designated picnic areas are packed in together tightly leaving guests to maneuver to their stuff through a maze of coolers, wagons, strollers, children and other random unidentfied objects. Overall this is a great waterpark with something for everyone. Being prepared, bringing extra cash, and arriving early will ensure you have stress free and fun experience!

THE staff is probably the best thing you have got going for them here. Victoria , Liz I cant remember all the rest of them very very helpful. Wonderful sweet supervisors. Maintenance needs to be done some of the older place are showing wear and cracks are starting to show as they say. It seems like they should have some way of tallying how many people come through because its gotten to the point where its like going to Six Flags you pay so much money and you get to go for five rides maybe because of the lines . Then you have to pay extra for an Express Pass. If your a local get there early great, but when you drive 2 1/2 hours it would be nice to get to do somethings with out having to shell out the extra cash for express tickets. We got there 30 minutes after opening and it seemed already busy. Then the afternoon came and you saw what busy really was. The place is still a lot of fun what can you say its just a sad thing when you cant enjoy it like it used to be I guess because of lines , amt of visitors, and the high cost of everything. $20 to rent a locker really everything was expensive. My neck still hurts from the child that flipped out of his tube landing on my head and neck. Lifeguard rescued said kid who did not have on a swim vest whose mother acted like I flipped her kid out which didnt happen cuz I was in front of him when the wave hit. that was the end of my afternoon I got out then too many people.

I really like what Schlitterbahn has to offer. They have made a lot of it very convenient. I like the options for rides, food, and fun. My reason for not giving 4 stars is that they could do some reinvestment on the facilities. I found a very slippery spot that more than three people took a spill without ever being noticed right by an ADA ramp. Odd, Id think that would be the safest spot. Dont get me wrong, because their staff were constantly looking for unsafe conditions and I even saw the response to a bloody nose, which could have been better, but it was better than I expected for such a huge place. Other reinvestment would be finding a way to: reduce lines, improve shade and airflow in line, create cool paths for those without shoes (I had to carry my kid from one shade spot to another), or adding some forms of entertainment in long line areas. The best deal is to look for season passes the second week in August. We did and also received the next season. The other good deal seems to be their condos. They appear to be around $300 for a night for 4 plus two days in the park with an hour early access on your second day.
