Well where should we start. Ever heard of a driving range that closed at 5? That is a point in itself, but we can just start from the scam this place is running, and how poorly the course is run. They have no problem charging my credit card 50 dollars a month for a plan that involves unlimited range balls, but count 4 times now that I have been able to make it out there somewhere around 5 and I have been told the range closes at 5, or if that does not work then I am told they do not have any range balls. Then today when I made sure I would make it before 5 I was told the range was closed for maintance. The bad thing is they do not care to tell you the range is closed when all you have to do is walk 50 yards and see that there are people hitting golf balls on the range. This place is just one of those golf courses you all know about that most of the guys that work there are either the next Tiger Woods, or were suppossed to be the next Tiger Woods. Yep this is that place. The problem is now that Texas State is probably giving the place all of 200 dollars a month for it to be their practice facility they try to run this place like it is Texas States private course, but just go ahead and scam everyone that pays for the monthly unlimited range plan. I already would rather drive to San Antonio or Austin every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday than spend the 20 dollars it would cost to play this place if that tells you anything. The condition of the course is beside my point you can go see that for yourself, but since this place is not a member of the bbb I will make sure to write a review every single possible place about the scam this place runs. Would a golf course have the knowledge that people like work for a living and can not make it to a driving range at 2 in the afternoon in hopes of possibly getting to just maybe get a hand full of the unlimited range balls the pay for every month? They spent an entire year hyping this new driving range, and within a month the turf already looks like you average nice and dry vacant lot in Texas, but the 2x2 square that Texas State hits the 300 range balls this place owns looks like Torrey Pines. Either spend 100 dollars to buy another 300 range balls, have someone pick the range balls after Texas State hits 300, or just quit scamming people, whichever works best for you Tyler Woods and Bill Mickelson.

OK - I work there as an unpaid starter 2 mornings every week - but Ive been playing there since 2008. Years ago the course was in bad shape - it had had several owners and was not maintained. If you missed the fairway you lost your golf ball. Now that Plum Creek Development owns the GC and has hired Foresight Golf to manage it, the course is in nice shape and is wide open - grip it and rip it. Its Winter 2015 now, and all parts of the course were over-seeded and are nice and green. I think Texas State U. (their boys & girls golf teams practice at Plum) contributed a pile of money to build a very large practice area - new driving range, new practice putting green, and a very large area with lots of targets to practice your wedges, The clubhouse is large but somewhat spartan. They have a by-the-month PDP program available. If you played here before 2010 but not since, come back and give it another try.

So much potential! Overall the course is usually in very good condition - fairways are excellent but greens suffer from poor player etiquette (ball marks, spike drags, etc). If they took some time to reinforce proper etiquette, that might improve. Price is about what youd expect, considering the lack of nearby competition - why there isnt another golf course in the Kyle-Buda area I have yet to figure out. Once another one does arrive, Plum Creek had better start fixing some of their problems. The primary issue I have is pace of play - in the many times Ive played here, Ive never seen marshalls or any sort of effort to speed things up. Too many guys playing from the blues that shouldnt be, too many 5-somes, and generally slow play. One last note, since the re-design a couple years ago, they still dont have an updated slope/rating.

Piss poor customer service multiple visits, if its not within radio distance dont bother asking for anything. Dont leave stuff in the carts. It will not make it anywhere, but an employees house. Actually I cant prove that, could just be material possessions worth value are disintegrating around the course. Overall, Waste of time and money! Support someone worthwhile.

Always in great condition. The course can play windy at times, but hey...its Texas. Decent snack bar at the clubhouse. Spacious bathroom facilities if you need to change clothes. Plenty of parking and theres an HEB & Starbucks nearby if you need to pick up some coffee or snacks on the way in.

Best course around for the price. Doesnt have the best clubhouse with a bunch of merchandise, but if you have what you need for a good round of golf, then this course is the one for you. Challenging but a fun course to play with friendly staff and it comes with a great price! I recommend it!
