Came here today with my daughter to show her for the first time. The exhibit was really fun and educational which is a good mixture. When you first walk into the exhibit there are frog and various insect species to look at as well as interactive videos and games for kids and adults to play and learn on. After getting through all of that you then enter into the butterfly exhibit and a high wave of humidity just hits you since they are recreating a rainforest environment. The exhibit is very beautiful and has plenty of plants, trees, waterfalls, and of course butterflies. I would definitely recommend that anyone comes here and enjoys all that it has to offer.

This is one of my favorite spots in Houston. I love entering the tall glass structure in the center of Houstons Museum District and being transported to an idyllic rainforest. There are detailed exhibits educating visitors on all sorts of insects and many play areas for children. However, I always go straight into the butterfly habitat to stare at the plethora of butterflies in various sizes and colors. The adult ticket price is only $9 (in 2016) so it is an inexpensive outing. I also appreciate the wheelchair accessibility since my mom is older and needs a wheelchair to get around.

We had a wonderful time visiting this particular exhibit. We always visit the museum, but the butterfly center is a must see. Very informational as well as exciting. The butterflies actually interact with you and will definitely try to escape with you on your way out. You can also try the insect vending machine. The Dessert Scorpian was tasty and so was the Ant Candies.

Its been a few years since I have visited the Butterfly Center. I have always enjoyed this exhibit and it continues to be a joy to visit. This past visit was with a field trip for summer camp and my group of boys really liked the exhibit. It appeals to everyone, old and young and presents the information in an easy to understand format for all.

The Butterfly Exhibit is amazing for young and old alike. The residents are welcoming and will often grace you with their presence if you wear bright colors or generally smell flowery. It gets very humid so dress lightly, and wear nonslip shoes as the stairs can get wet sometimes. Its very much worth the trip to HMNS just to see this place.

I found this exhibit exceptionally fascinating! The butterflies were beautiful and I was amazed at all of the different species I saw and all of the different colors of their wings. It was so neat to be able to walk through an exhibit with all of the butterflies flying around and to be able to interact with them.

Such a great treasure to have in the City and its much cheaper to visit than it could be. Each time you go its a different experience and it never seems to be disappointment. The large moths are the ones to see, however giving their life span you may or may not get lucky.

Great place for the family. Full of fun facts and beautiful butterflies. Wear something colorful if you want the butterflies to land on you. Please DO NOT throw coin into the ponds with fish. Very warm and humid inside the dome with butterflies.

Check this place out in winter, when it is cool outside and you want to warm up. You will feel like you are in a tropical paradise. Beautiful butterflies flutter all around you and there is a huge iguana lounging about.

Its inside the natural science museum. Will be bit humid and warm/hot in summer. Its good for children educational purposes. If you want to take some close up butterfly shots, then it will make worth the trip.

Its always worth a stop into the Butterfly center when we visit Hermann Park. Plus I recently discovered the fantastic childrens learning center which has a great beehive play area that my daughter loved.

We have a wonderful time visiting the Cockrell Butterfly Center and would recommend to everyone. We saw hundreds of butterflys and even say saw one emerge from its cocoon! Very interesting and cool!

The kids loved the butterfly exhibit. The new Red Legged turtles addition was an added fun. The enclosure is cleaner now and well kept/maintained.
