This place is great if you want to come out for a nice walk though nature. Multiple trails, all nice. Only issue is that it is near the airport so the sound of planes taking off/landing is a bit of a distraction. In fact it is more than that. It almost ruins this place but not quite. Also regarding the prohibition on dogs. I am pretty sure they used to let dogs in at one time but dog owners are by and large inconsiderate when it comes to their dogs. Dogs should be on a leash at all times. Your Rottweiler Pookie is no exception. You need to pick up your dogs feces too. It makes me sick the dog owners who conveniently neglect to do that. So… now you lost privilege. Let that be a lesson to you. I am not a dog hater. I have a “chaweinie” that is very loved. If you are going to give this place a bad rating because of no dogs I would give it a bad rating if I had to put up with your crappy dog no one loves but you.

Incredible park and wildlife reserve. Its seems that some people dont understand what a wildlife reserve is. No foreign animals are allowed in a wildlife reserve including your pets. The wildlife reserve is there for you to experience nature. There is a dog park down the road outside the nature reserve at Pundt park the sister park to Jesse Jones park, they are connected by a paved bike trail. There is a real large swamp in the middle of the park so bug spray is recommended. If you want to get away from the bugs there is a large beach next to Spring Creek that is bug free but you might need sunscreen because the sun can be brutal.

This park is beautiful because there is a building where you can go for free to understand more about wildlife and the fauna. I love the parking lot since it is not a problem. I love that you can go canoeing and kayaking on spring creek. The cypress trees are very cool and they make the park very interesting. The white sand is wonderful, just be careful with sand dunes. I will visit more often this lovely park.

awesome park, good trails lots of nature. There is no danger of confronting animals, what do you expect when you go in the woods you get nature. If you go early you can see whitetail deer foraging around which is cool. Wild hogs are present but are really nocturnal. Ive only seen 1 in my 13 years of going. The creek is excellent fishing feb-april.

The best place in the northeast Houston area for a family picnic or activity. A great place to hike through the woods and over the swamp on the boardwalk. Free events are hosted every month that are open to the community. If youre new to town, or havent been to the park in a while, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

This is one of the largest and most feature packed parks in Harris County. Lots of trails, a really cool Indian village, and handy connection to the spring creek greenway to name a few benefits. Nice nature center, lots of family play areas, and much more really make it a worthwhile trip. Well worth a visit!

My family loves Jesse Jones Park & Nature Center! Whether you want to relax and just enjoy being outside, walk on some wonderful trails, visit a white sand beach, canoe, play/feed ducks, let the kids play on a great playground or barbecue with family - there is something for everyone! Nice and clean!

Great park with many trails & ample parking, but the Halloween Event they had was subpar. It was free to walk around but you had to pay for things like face painting, kids crafts, nature activity, etc. Which is to be expected but was extremely understaffed. Not very fun, wont be going back.

What kind of park doesnt allow dogs? This one. It is just a normal, every-day park with roughly paved trails. Nothing special, but you cant bring your dog. I cant endorse that kind of logic. Oh, and there is an excessive amount of litter which makes the place look trashy (pun intended).

This is a hidden mecca of outdoor fun right in the heart of urban sprawl. There is a hiking trail that connects to this park from Pundt park and is around 15+ miles long. Pioneer days are my favorite and are generally in the fall, great for family.

Great place to escape and feel like youre no where near a city. The floods this year have really changed the landscape on the trails, the ravages may take years for the area to fully recover. Always bring mosquito repellant even when its 100°

This place was okay. Trails are in pretty rough shape. Quite a bit of garbage around. We took a group of scouts and they took it upon themselves to pick up some items and throw them in the trash bins. Spring Creek is pretty gross really.

Great place for casual or long walks or runs. Lots of different length trails and connects to Spring Creek Greenway, a 13.5 mile paved hike and bike track that goes north and ends at Dennis Johnston Park up near Old Town Spring.

Love this park. Yea, they dont allow dogs, but for a good reason. Its a nature reserve, so the wildlife wont make it home if an unnatural predator is around. Do you research before dissing the fact that they dont allow dogs.

This is a hidden gem! A fantastic place to go for a hike; spend time outside with your kids instead of just letting them play video games at home all day. The park is very wooded, so youre under shade almost everywhere.

Nice clean park. Fun for little kids. There is a rough trails that turns into a paved trail, which connects you to Pundt Park. Pundt park has a really nice big dog park. Playground for the kids as well.

The trails are numerous and the nature center is very informative. The native American village wasnt as well kept as the settlement area but it was still a great place to walk to.

Love riding the Spring Creek Greenway Trail on my mountain bike from Jesse Johns to Pundt and back. Just wish they would pave it all the way for my road bike friends to ride.

You forget you are in the city and get back to nature. Also yesterday we saw a crocodile or aligator and the employees there were very helpful and excited for the spotting.
