Its a great museum, and its free so everyone should go see it ! Its in a very modern building with amazing architecture and a beautiful view of the Fort Worth skyline. For some people the paintings may not be so impressive if one is used to European art, but there are many impressive native American and Western paintings that are definitely worth seeing ! I recommend looking at all of the amazing sculptures which are absolutely stunning and shouldnt be missed. It can get a little boring upstairs because there is a lot of photography, but the unique architecture and layout of the entire building kept me excited to explore. Go see it !

En exposición una instalación espectacular realizada con hilo para cocer en máquina del artista México-americano Gabriel Dawe conformando dos espacios aéreos con los colores del arco iris en el atrio del Museo. Una obra de sutil proyección espacial muy bella..

Really excellent museum. The changing exhibits are always high quality, and filled with great educational material/written descriptions that help me find a deeper appreciation for the artists on display (while many art museums do this, not all do it well). Staff is courteous and helpful, and the museum regularly puts on some great events. Also, if you just want to sit outside and take in a great view of downtown Fort Worth, their patio and garden is perfect.

This place is terrible....could not enjoy any of the art because the staff makes you feel like a criminal. Staff bitches about everything...dont even look at the art funny or you will be called out...do not get close enough to look at the details or an elderly man will shout at you. Please do not bother...you get what you pay for. When the museum can afford a professional staff, I may consider returning for the art.

The Amon Carter is a run by a fascist, sexist, chauvinistic group of egotistical men. They participate in sexual discrimination, and are no stranger to breaking labor laws. I do not support this museum, nor its culture of hate, which is a real shame because the museum has a wonderful collection of western art that will be perpetually marred by the discrimination and the ugly face of hate.

The Amon Carter is a small museum, but it packs excellent exhibits. It is also free for everyone. It is peaceful and quiet, it has an amazing view of the skyline. Exhibits change regularly, so experience will depend on those exhibits. The American West was amazing. You have to see paintings up close because they are fantastic and unbelievable.

I love going to this museum. The permanent collection is lovely and always nice to look at. The traveling collections are always awesome. The museum has programs/activities available during the summer for kids and adults. The best part about the museum is that it is free to the community to experience all types of art and subjects

Really enjoyed seeing the Remington and Russell paintings. That was our main reason for visiting. The other art was interesting...and they had a neat photography exhibit about the Border. All of the staff was friendly and helpful except for one in particular that was giving us dirty looks as we walked around, not sure why...

My wife and I truly enjoyed our visit here. I made a donation and will return to purchase gifts from the gift shop. Amon Carter museum is way more than a beat the heat spot I heard it reffered to when I moved to FTW. Lots of culture reoresented here through art. Wonderful place to spend a couple hours.

A must for visitors. Beautiful modern majestic building in a park like setting in the cultural districts. Wonderful selection of old masters artwork and varied traveling collection. This museum is a Fort Worth institution. Suggest you allow at least two hours for your visit.

Knowledgeable and friendly guides, helpful and polite docents, great exhibits, free admission, and lovely architecture - all this makes the Amon Carter my favorite museum in Fort Worth. The only criticism I can give is that the parking is not always easy to find.

My family really love this museum. The staff are nice and professional and the building is emaculent. The art is breath taking. I wanted to stay longer but my children were excited to explore more of the local area - we just moved here. I will be back and often!

Almost a forgotten gem, most of my friends who like art wont go here because they only house American art works, but its there loss. This place has beautiful architecture, with a wide variety American history, especially that of Western America. Just fantastic.

We signed up for the free Itty-bitty Art: Infant Massage class and had so much fun! The instructor was knowledgeable and our five-month-old loved getting a massage! Afterward we were able to explore the museum and it was awesome - I loved the Avedon exhibit.

I will definitely revisit as I was only able to browse the museum for two hours. Most of the time was spent viewing the section on photography, which was very interesting, but I was able to drift into other areas briefly. Very impressive museum.

As part of its focus on American art, the Amon Carter does an excellent job of promoting artistic American photography. In addition, other exhibits it hosts often have some sort of environmental focus, and others will have a social focus.

I think the Carter often gets overlooked and plays third string to the Kimbell and Modern. This is quite unfair to the museum. Its worth a visit, always free, and the museum is fantastic stewards to the community. Not to miss if in FW.

I loved everything about this museum. The art, the sculptures, the staff, and Its free! Check out the gift shop before you leave. I feel in love with this place. The cowboy art tells true stories. Ask someone while you are there.

Stopped by to see the Richard Avedon exhibit containing 17 of the original 124 "In the American West" portraits originally exhibited at the Amon Carter in 1985. Still very impressive images. Additionally, the day was amazing.

Wonderful free museum with a lovely collection. Staff is always helpful and visiting exhibits, which are also free, are often thoughtful and educational. The best view of Fort Worth too! Free little parking lot as well.

Free admission with plenty of interesting exhibits. Located in the cultural district close to other museums so it is easy to museum hop. Expect to spend at least 2 hours here to truly take in all the art.
