My folks live in Ormond by the Sea and I usually play Halifax but I tried River bend. My tee time was at 1:08 on Friday (1-13-17). I enjoyed the course but unfortunately it was real slow and took 3 hours to complete 9 holes ( I paid for 18). Went to the 10th hole and the group in front hadnt teed off , the group ahead of them was half way up and group in front of them was still on the green. Needless to say I left...I will try it again in the summer but was bummed I couldnt get 18 in ( there is no way I would have finished before dark).

Terrific moderately priced, family-owned course in Ormond Beach. Overseeds in winter to keep everything green. Very friendly personnel. Good value. Update 1/1/2017: price raised to $49.00 for winter season. Sand traps like hard pan - no sand. Longest round of my life today because there was no starter and singles, twosomes, threesomes, more twosomes all went off...no ranger to move things along. At $49.00 there are better local courses to pick from.

Yummy food. Tuna salad obviously hand made, bf had black n blue burger that was real beef and very juicy. Ask for onion rings which arent on the menu but also hand made. We sat on the patio for a casual lunch, which had very pretty view of jungle, smoked and watched the golf carts go by. A hidden gem with great service. Nice interior, would make a good venue for wedding reception.

The course is descent, not special. Center of fairways is good condition, but as u get closer to edges and into rough, gets more and more patchy, little to no grass and a lot of sand. Just off fairway can be like playing from a bunker with a THICK sand lie...?? Greens are ok at best. Much better courses in immediate Daytona area

Its been a few years since playing there but the course was in great shape, the staff-in the pro shop, in the restaurant, cart barn and starter were very nice, professional and friendly. Looking forward to playing again.

A hidden gem! Esp. for the money. Greens in better shape then LPGA fairways looking lush too.NO houses, craved out of Fl woodlands. Why come to FL and not be near the beach? Friendly staff too.

Best golf course in the area. By far. Prefer it to the LPGA courses. Challenging at all skill levels. Great pro for lessons. Nice pro shop. Good, friendly bar and sandwich shop.

Tree lined fairways, alot of shade when its hot! Bermuda greens in great shape. Would recommend to a friend. Feels like your the only one on the course.
