Acoustics are TERRIBLE! Took my mom and dad to see Swan Song knowing full well they are a great, spot on, Led Zeppelin tribute band that Ive heard in other venues. They are amazing and I wanted to share that experience with them at what Ive been told is a great historic place for concerts. The opener, The Doors Hotel, was worse than an 8th grade garage band. "The Southwests Premier Doors Tribute Band"? How? They seemed more preoccupied with their half-cocked stage antics than good music. Lemme help you out: Dynamics; I learned it in 7th grade band. Additionally, the Board Op, in his trendy Fedora appeared under constant duress and it sounded like it; took him 4-5 unlistenable Doors songs to make it bearable and he still couldnt get it right. Apparently, its all about that bass and overdriven high frequency too. A move to the lobby bar made the menagerie of noise less painful. Did they not do a sound check or are the concrete walls and compete lack of any acoustic paneling just too much to overcome? Hoping things would improve with a change to a band I knew had chops from previous experiences (Swan Song) and seeing the multitude of people confront the clueless Board Op was short lived. The music was unlistenable; too much bass and too much overdriven high frequency. And, it was overly obvious the Board Op was tweaking it Up/Down/Up/Down like Daniel-san throughout a song!! I will not return to this venue until the acoustics are fixed and a better Board Op is found.

The Granada is an absolutely unique and beautiful venue. With only the capacity of 1000 or so, it is an intimate concert hall. The inital lobby can be a little cramp, but the hall itself is spacious. There are standing general admission tickets or an option for seats in a raised area behind general admission. The seating area has its own bar and restooms. I will say that at every concert Ive been to here, the bars have moved very fast despite the variety of crowds. If you want to be closer to the stage, but dont want to stand there are a few seats off to the side of the general admission area, however people will stand in front of you. We have never had an issue with the sound/acoustics of anyone playing here, though I will say depending on who you are seeing and the crowd that goes along with them the amount of chatter can be hard to ignore. You do have to pay for parking, but there always seems to be adequate space directly behind the Granada. If you are hungry, there are several restaurant options within walking distance as well. Overall, a favorite venue to see shows at in the Dallas area.

Saw a movie at the theater. Their phone recording and website stated the movie started at 5:00 pm. When I arrived they decided to start the movie early at 4:30 pm. Missed 1/3 of the movie. Parking was $8. Paid $8 to park and only watch 60 mins of a 90 mins movie. Accidentally left my jacket inside. Realized this when I got to the parking lot. Tried to get back in and the doors were already locked within 5 minutes of me leaving. Wow. Tried for 3 days to get a hold of someone to get my jacket back. The theater finally reopened for an event 3 days later only to find my jacket was not there. Someone stole it. Very disappointed. Will not go back.

Had a pleasant experience here. Had brunch here with my friends on my birthday. Easy to locate. Heated patio. Drinks were a little pricey for brunch which is why I only gave 4 stars. Split a burger and a grilled cheese with a gf and the sweet potato fries were everything I was expecting. Dessert was a bread pudding that had been charcoaled with homemade whipped cream on the side of a dark chocolate cherry ice cream. Only complaint was the bread pudding crunchy outside didnt swoon me. I like my bread pudding super moist all over. Definitely would recommend and return!

9/21 ADAM ANT show, well worth the wait! The guys and gals who were working during this show were nothing less than fantastic! They were attentive to our every need from the moment we walked though the doors before the show, paying special attention to my 4 year old daughter as she attended her first real show (The Fresh Beat Band concert doesnt really count). We all (wife, munchkin, and I) had a great time, and the atmosphere was beyond family friendly. The Granada Theater is awesome, we will be returning for future shows.......

I love the Granada Theater for concerts because for General Admission you can easily arrive a bit early and get up close to the stage! If you order one of their 24oz beers in a can, get a special Granada can koozy for just $3 more! The staff is very friendly and the theater is nostalgic. It is also located close to various other establishments, should you wish to eat before/after a show or head somewhere else for a few drinks. Look for special deals for shows at the Granada Theater on Groupon, too!

The Granada is one of the better venues in Dallas. Even though the ceiling stands as tall as Treebeard, the atmosphere is intimate, and the classic theater decor mixed with new age lighting and screen displays compliment any show. Which they have plenty of. It sits on Greenville, so close your eyes and point in any direction and theres something to do. There are two levels and a bar on each, so you dont have to leave the show to get quenched. I highly recommend it. (See? I said Excellent)

Its one of the best venues in Dallas for smaller shows from both bigger and smaller base artists. Great views all around and the fact that its more intimate really get the crowd going. If you get lucky and hang out by the back of the venue, by the tour bus zone, you might score an autograph or two. I got lucky when Gym Class Heroes was in town. People have a great time here. Be ready to stand, though, as there are no seats. Thats the only big caveat.

I have to give this place a 5 since I attended a movie here back in 1958 when the theater was called The Arcadia. I was a junior in high school and a member of the National Honor Society from Buckner High School. All of us in the NHS were treated to a movie here, and I still remember the grandness of the theater way back when. If it is anything close to what it use to be, it still has to be a great experience.

Great artists, but no seats! Period! NO seats....One has to stand for the entire performance. Recently attended Willie Nelson concert there...Even for a performance by a legendary artist, three hours is a long time to stand for many folks...Not a place for the faint of feet! Still, GREAT show! Wow! Sold out in 8 seconds Im told! Go Willie...We will have to roll him up and smoke him when he dies!

This is one of my favorite venue in Dallas. The sound has been perfect the 2 shows that I have been to and as an old theater it has great acoustics. The people that work there arent in your face and they just sort of do what theyre there to do. I go there when and acoustic natured show comes into town that I want to see.
