BUYER BEWARE! WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR FAMILY. BE PREPARED THIS IS A LONG ONE. my family and i booked a 5 day stay here.. initially when we pulled up, we were already freaking out. We should have known that when you pull up to a place without guest parking/bay to park to go in and check in was an indication of how horrific and terrible the place would be. We walked in to be NOT greeted by 2 young ladies, there was housekeeping and maintenance staff hanging around the front desk. Thr girls giggled with each other but were very short and unhappy seeming with us. We get to our room and are pleased with its appearance. Good beds etc.. we go to dinner at the veranda (the restaurant) downstairs.. only to be served under cooked shrimp.. we decided that maybe we should not eat the food. The chef came out, apologized and credited us for the shrimp. My mom and dad decided they would take our 7 year old and 20 month old to the pool.. there was feces floating around in the pool as well as along the edge of the pool. We took the kids out and were completely disgusted but thought maybe it was simply an accident. The next day, we are woken up by the sound of banging around upstairs (we were on thr 3rd floor) and headboard vibrating. Apparently, the 4th floor was being worked on as it was not completed. We head out to the pool/park area to check it out. The feces was still in the pool from the previous night (mind you it was around 11:30) when we came down to the pool/park. Again, we took our children out of the pool and went to the park to see what it was about. We all got a tube and looked forward to doing the lazy river. I had our 20 month old and we came to an opening where it split. We asked what they were like and got only shrugs from the workers. So down we went. I had to squeeze my 20month old with my knees as we were in a double tube and i needed to make sure she didnt fall out of the tibe on this raging river that was no way intended for small children. My father became very ill, vomiting and when my mom asked for an exit, none of the workers knew anything about getting out. No concern. Nothing. He was in the water for about 15 minutes trying to find an exit. We returned to the pool area where we had reserved a cabana. We waited 2 full hours before the pina colda machine was ready to make drinks. Nastiest drinks i have ever had. They burned and tasted awful. We decided we would leave for the day and hoped for better luck another day. We returned to the pool next day to find the pool completely full of park guests rather than hotel guests. Some adults were all but having sex. We pulled our 7 year old from the pool and visited a beach in nearby port a. We encountered the same problems daily. People being very affectionate with one another with no interferance from the people working at schlitterbahn. This is supposedly a family establishment. Uh..no! The pool was dirty the entire time during our stay... tiles were coming off.. each time i would raise my arms or get in, i would have hair, leaves, you name it all over. We had a cabana another day during our stay. There was a wasps nest, we reported it, only got a "oh yeah, there is" no one ever came to fix the problem. Throughout our stay there was work and banging around on the 4th floor. We attempted breakfast at the veranda, only to find the waitstaff was even worse. Drinks were brought and the waitress couldnt even hand them to the proper person. The manager to the restaurant criticized her staff. Walked by and asked how our food was while she wiped tables etc instead of stopping by the table and properly addressing us. We never got the right order. We gave up and didnt complain but didnt eat there again. Also found mold in our air conditioner. The cleaning ladg just said "its normal due to humidity." Overall the stay cost us more than a trip to the bahamas would have.. it was like a motel 6 with a 5 star hotel price tag. DO NOT TRUST THEIR FACEBOOK. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I also called corporate only to have to call back 4 different times. Corporate never called me back.

What a disaster. The park gets 2 stars, but the hotel gets no stars. Dont bother trying to get your room cleaned. We had the sign on our doorknob that indicates we need our room serviced, called the front desk to confirm a cleaning would happen, and spoke to housekeeping when they were next door to be absolutely sure they would show up. We got back to the room and saw that nobody had showed up. The reasons we wanted our room cleaned so badly: we showed up on our check in day to towels covered in orange food dust (the only thing I can think of is cheetos maybe??), there was a big stain on the comforter, and we heard a housekeeping woman mention that its "so gross that we dont clean those"... Were thinking "those" must be the comforters, because we called the front desk when we returned at 9 and were told that nobody here could clean our room or change our sheets this late, so they gave us two sheets to put on the bed ourselves and said "we dont have any comforters" (what???) We eventually got the cleaning crew in our room on our final evening. Suspecting the staff wouldnt follow proper cleaning techniques, I discreetly marked the current, dirty blankets we complained about. When we returned to a fully made bed, I untucked the blankets to find the markings I had made. We were given the same dirty blankets we had left on the floor and complained about. See the photo attached. The hotel staff seems untrained, clueless, and often just plain awkward to interact with. They frequently mentioned how full the hotel is and seemed completely unprepared for a hotel full of guests. Most seem to be inexperienced teenagers or just socially awkward individuals without customer service skills. The park staff was fine but struggled with the "splash cash" that apparently doesnt work a lot of the time. The park is tiny compared to the other Schlitterbahns. There are 3 rides and lots of slow, lazy rivers. However, we wouldve been fairly content with the waterparks faults if the hotel werent such a let down. This was supposed to be a special vacation full of relaxation, but now were just bummed out.

I made a reservation for the mothers day brunch and they called me back to confirm, saying that I requested to be sat at the bar. When I initially called the girl laughed that I was even making a reservation just for myself for mothers day. They said, "No one else is coming with you?" As if I had no one to go with me. Im sorry Im not a needy person and I live 1,000s of miles away from all of my family members? Im sorry that some of my friends who are mothers are doing something different that day? Im sorry that not all of my friends are mothers and they dont want to eat brunch on mothers day at a half-built mediocre water park? Im sorry that some of my friends prefer to eat at better places (I do as well, but I was trying to save money)? Im sorry that I just want to go ALONE and relax by myself?!?!?! I never requested to be sat at the bar! Then they called back (after I left a voicemail explaining this) and told me that I "HAD to sit at the bar because the reservation was only for one person" and "other people need the tables". Other people? Who? Other mothers? Why do they get a table and I dont? I am a single parent and I work three jobs and go to school- mothers day was ironically the only day I had off of work this entire month and I just wanted to go to brunch and relax, and then go to the park and swim. My son was away at my ex-husbands house that weekend so I was going alone. I see him pretty much 24/7 because I am his main parent and the other hardly sees him. Is it wrong to spend the day at the beach rather than home alone waiting for him to come home? I JUST wanted to sit at a table to eat my food, not at the bar! How dare they demand that I HAVE TO sit at the bar to eat! So disrespectful! I couldve eaten brunch at the Holiday Inn on the beach but its completely overrated. I ended up not going and just staying home to clean that day. Thanks, ignorant assholes!
