Wow, What an experience! Honestly I will never forget my stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. First let me start by saying " Huge Disapointment" The rates are unbelievably outrageous. The the room rate and the additional resort fees were ridiculous. For what was paid to the hotel in room rates and fees I should have been treated like a queen. Upon arrival our rooms were not ready. The rooms were okay but could have really used a better cleaning. The beds were very uncomfortable & squeaky. Customer service was useless. All smiles and no resolution. They were like well trained robots. Children ran all over the hotel totally unsupervised with no security while playing the hotels game called Magic Quest. Can you imagine your young child having open access to 8 floors of a hotel and its stairwell without supervision?! Not my child, thats for certain. Its a pedifile dream come true. The indoor waterpark has everything a family would want except for the strong smell of chlorine in an enclosed room at 84 degrees made it difficult to breathe. Lucky for us the outdoor pool opened at 11am. A gross factor I ran into with the pool and customers... I over heard several females talking about being on periods and only wearing a "pad" claiming it was absorbant enough! I yanked my child out of the water so fast. Come on people blood is blood and it does go into water. I was so disgusted. By the way this hotel has enough nerve to post a sign that reads " NO DISEASES ALLOWED" If they are going to post this sign why not post one about females & period guidelines for those with no common sense. The vendors within the lodge were grossly over priced. My child wanted a sweet snack so I went to a treat shop and attempted to purchase a small container of licorice. but, when I saw it was priced at $7.99 it was not going to happen! We purchased the Paw Pass which allows your child to get extra fun things in the hotel. ex: a tattoo, a stuffed animal, arcade coins, ice cream cone and, make a t-shirt. That also was pricey but, its more fun for the kids to do besides swim. They did falsely advertise that "croc" shoes were on the Paw Pass online and it was not. Apparantly they removed this item back in February but never updated online and would not offer them with the paw pass for our visit! Instead we could buy them for an additional $30, I think not! Meal time was almost a pleasant experience. Upon arrival the host wanted to seat myself and the 6 kids I was with at a table next to the bar! Really? The eating area was bare and they wanted us in a corner by the bar. Wasnt gonna happen. The host actually bickered with me! Finally we were placed at a table within the restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. They accomodated my dairy allergies. When recieving the bill. I sign it receipt and placed my credit card down on it ready for pick up. My card was returned and within minutes the waiter showed up again asking to be paid. He made a huge scene! Again, I had to experience an employee being argumentative with me. The people I sat with even argued that they witnessed he took my card and my bill. What did I get for my troubles you ask. Free vitimins that were being handed out and wolf ears. Wow, now that made my day. Seriously! This resort needs to clean up their act if they want to stay in business or ever get mine again. Shame on you Great Wolf Lodge! This hotel is great for those with low expectations.

The water park was ok. But, for the price we paid to stay at the hotel, I expected more. My kids have just as much fun at any other water park or even the free water activities. The only thing you cant get for free at some other parks are the slides. However, 2 of my kids werent tall enough yet to ride those. I didnt get any kind of a discount for that though. The hotel rooms are overpriced and the room wasnt even that nice. I had a representative lie to me about the size of the bunk beds in the room I got. He said they were a full size. I have 4 kids and needed them to sleep 2 on top and 2 on bottom. The beds were a toddler size. I had to have 2 of my kids sleep on the pull out couch because of it. They also knew I had 6 people but, only left 4 rags in the room. So, I immediately had to ask for more just so everyone could shower. When I checked in, the lady tried to give me 5 water park bands instead of 6. I told her she only gave me 5 and she gave me a dirty look. This was immediately after she told me if I lost them, it would cost me extra. They have automatic checkout and I was told I would get a receipt to my email showing that. I never received anything so I called. They told me I didnt need a receipt because on their end it showed I was checked out. I guess Ill have to take their word for it. I also asked about my wristband because the lady cut it off at the park and I remembered it was attached to my check card. She said she would turn it off to make sure there werent any charges. I dont like the idea that it was attached to my wrist band at all. Anyone could have used it and why did I have to call to get it turned off? I also think we got a mild case of food poisoning from them. We ate at the restaurant there for lunch. The food tasted ok but, was really overpriced. At night we had pizza from "Hungry like the wolf". It cost $20 for a one topping pizza. If it tasted good, that wouldnt have been so bad. It tasted cheaper than Cicis pizza. Their large pizza is like $6. At least you know you get what you pay for there. $20 for a pizza that tasted like cardboard is horrible. The next day everyone was having stomach problems. That pizza is the only thing all of us ate the same of. The arcade games were mostly $2-$3 each play. I spent $40 and didnt play for very long because it was super expensive. We left with a few small pieces of candy and 2 rubber snakes you would find at the dollar store. Also, several of their games didnt work and took our money. When I was using the restroom on the first floor, my husband was standing outside and got video of roaches crawling around. My kids had been wanting to go so bad so, I forked over a large amount of money for one night. It wasnt worth it. Ill never go again. Id rather take them to a water park. I didnt even get a souvenir because the stores were crazy expensive just like everything else. Save your money and go somewhere better or even buy season passes for some other water park.

We first visited last year in May for one night. We were excited to swim outside, do the indoor water park, and magiquest. We spend like $25 in the arcade. Spent like $50 at dinner and another $50 at breakfast. After adding in our mixed drinks and snacks our total came to around $500 for one night of GWL for our family of three. Pricey I know. Going back again we knew this going in. We ate lunch before we headed to the hotel. We checked in at 2 PM Sunday afternoon for the "meal pkg". This was $209.99 but included a Lg pizza, breadsticks, large salad, and 2 liter which we used for dinner. The price difference for a room without this is only $10 less. This was PLENTY of food for the 3 of us, and would have feed 1-2 more. Our room wasnt ready so we headed to the water park and waited for the call. After about 1 hour they called to say our room was ready. We swam outside and in for a couple hours. Then we went to order our pizza. We went up to the front desk and happen to mention a deal they were offering for $74.99 that was an all inclusive package where my son could do a little of everything for about half the price. We decided to splurge this time and do it. THIS WAS A GREAT IDEA! This included: Magiquest wand Magicquest game/activation 1 pair of crocs (kids or adults!) 1 charm for crocs toe (we added a couple more for $2.99) 1 glitter tatoo 1 build a bear (we did a penguin and added clothes for $10) 1 trip to cub club to design a T shirt or Pillow case (FUN) 1 single scoop ice cream 1 5x7 photo (from a ride or around the hotel) 1 GWL lanyard All in all it kept us busy and my son had the time of his life! He is 4 and kept telling us that he LOVED this place. We were even given GWL scrapbook sheets, coloring pages, and paper picture frames in cub club for activities at home. We did bring gallon jugs of water and a few water bottles. We would refill the bottles and carry them with us in our pool bag. I recommend bring a few snacks for the stay because they mostly have fried food, or sweets. You have a fridge in your room so you could bring drinks, fruit, and snacky stuff even if you plan to eat at the hotel or around it. We are local but its totally worth it to get the shuttle to take you to Gaylord for a couple hours if you are staying more than a day or two. It is directly across the street and a neat place to walk around with the family. Like I said originally our last visit we didnt do much and spend around $500. This visit we did everything. Ate dinner and the breakfast buffet, had a few drinks and only spent $370 this visit. Keep in mind that is with the same room rate of $200 except we added the $10 for the dinner. FYI next time I will not eat the breakfast buffet. Not worth the $25 for the three of us. All in all we will be going back before Christmas. My son loved it and its a nice getaway place if even for 1 night.
