If I was a totally selfish person, I wouldnt write this review...Id just keep this gem hidden. This course is the best kept secret South of I-88. As a 16 handicap in my mid-30s with a wife and 5 y/o at home, time and value are important. Sure, I can play $30 muni courses, but 5-6 hour rounds behind dudes in jean shorts is golf HELL. Ive played Ravisloe twice; both in a twosome, both on 70 degree Friday afternoons. Our Average pace of play was 3:10. Our average price per round was $52...and I didnt see any jean shorts (not sure we ran into anyone at all). And the course itself? Country club conditions. greens were manicured and true, ruff was thick but fair. The track is not long, but the small/tricky greens make up for less than intimidating length. Bunkers will punish you for bad shots, but not in a "mean spirited" way. I cant say enough about this course. Low handicappers might look elsewhere for a tougher challenge, but Ravisloe is definitely tops the charts in South Chicagoland in terms of value/time/overall experience. In brief, this is a course that reminds you why you love golf, and has you walking away wishing you had more holes to play.

We were kicked off the course at 7:58 pm on the 18th tee! Sunset is at 8:20 pm tonight, so we easily could have finished in 15 minutes or less. Nothing was communicated to us in the pro shop at the onset of our round. Rich should have properly communicated with us at the beginning of the round. Rich was rude, unprofessional, and mean-spirited from the start. He never treated us like paying customers. Take your money elsewhere. I will never be back to this course, which is a pity because its actually a decent course. Rich is a misanthrope who takes pleasure in ruining the experiences of paying customers. Ravisloe Management, if you are reading this, I would like a full refund. Rich was so egregious in his treatment of us that the only fair retribution is a refund and full apology.

Played there today, already booked another tee time for the weekend. I read another review that the groundskeeper needs an award, I dont think that is justified as he deserves a 40 foot memorial statue. Legitimately the nicest track Ive played in the area. Playing here in October and the grass is in better shape than any course in early June. Fun holes, incredibly deep and challenging sand, and some of the friendliest trees I have ever encountered.

Visited for their Mothers Day Brunch. To my surprise they had a table waiting with exactly 7 place settings and roses waiting for the special ladies in our party. My expectations were continually exceeded by the cuisine, atmosphere, and most importantly, the extraordinary service. This has instantly become a tradition for my family and visiting Ravisloe should be a tradition for your family too.

This is one of my favorite golf courses in Chicagos Southern suburbs. It is not a particularly long course but the presence of 92 sand bunkers strategically situated throughout the layout makes it a challenging course. The greens have subtle undulation which require you to carefully plot each putt. If you get overly aggressive you may find your ball rolling off the green.

If you enjoy a classic Donald Ross golf course in excellent condition, you will love Ravisloe. Some might dismiss it because of the relatively short length from the back tees at 6,400 yards, but theyd be making a mistake. The course is well-bunkered, challenging, and youll hit driver the majority of the holes. Id play this course again in a heartbeat.

Chicago golfing secret. 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. Old Donald Ross design course. Former stately Country Club. Reasonable golf prices. Bent fairways, newly remodeled traps. Great golfing experience. Great place for weddings and special events.

I found this place two years ago. I golf somewhere in the south Chicagoland twice a week. And hit this place three times a season. There is nothing like this anywhere. Tradition and condition are simply amazing. The chief groundskeeper deserves an award.

Wow! What a nice, well maintained course! A great twilight/ senior rate value. The greens are usually fast, and the fairways impeccable. They could put a little more sand in the deep bunkers to allow the splash out. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints.

Played here last weekend, I really like this course, generous fairways, tough bunkers, and subtle breaks on the greens. Ive played here a couple times a year here, great design, thanks Donald Ross, freindly staff, good course at a good rate.

I grew up coming here before it changed. My brother and I would go swimming and go to the shack to eat while my dad golfed. It was a Jewish country club and a family tradition. I am 37 so it was in the 80s and 90s. Fond childhood memories

Beautiful course, great staff, and well worth the money. Used to be a private country club, but is now PUBLIC. Yet, it still maintains its historic character. Water on only one hole. Loved it! A true hidden gem.

since turning public it is now back to its phenomenal condition. The course is a treasure for golfers who enjoy tradition and beauty. Best deal in town for the quality of the course and clubhouse.

Great course however the environment felt a little hostile as we were in the clubhouse and on the first tee. Starters were backing up carts and talking while we were on the first tee.

Don Ross would smile if he could see the shape this Old Beauty is in. Everything from tee to green is outstanding. Greens Guru should take a bow!!!
