Modeled after The Globe theatre, this venue hosts shows in the Elizabethan style, which, for one, means the audience is encouraged to interact with the characters on stage. Cheer them on, boo them, whatever your heart desires. Seats are sold as general admission and you have three levels: ground (stage is at eye level), stage level, and mezzanine. Seats are covered. Its BYOB and food; excellent! Situated right along the lakefront of Lake Austin, youll be greeted by friendly mosquitoes, but the torches throughout the property help, and set an ambiance second to none. The Curtain makes seeing Shakespeare or the likes a great deal of fun, even if youre "not into Shakespeare." Highly recommend. Family-friendly, date-friendly, GNO friendly, handicap accessible, all are warmly received. Tickets run about 15 bucks. Go!

The most amazing Shakespearean experience. The Curtain is a smaller replica of the Globe Theatre and the Barons Men are an amazing troupe. Shakespeare is so wordy in his writing that many troupes dont really understand how to say the lines, they just spit them out. The Barons Men do an amazing job with performing the plays as they are meant to be done and the Curtain is the perfect place to watch. Bring your food, drinks, a pillow to sit on (or rent a seat back for $1), bug spray, and your imagination. Probably some tissues too, because Shakespeare.
